I like how random internet ladies think they have the right to redefine words.

As a father and husband, I am also paying more when the ladies in my house choose these products. As a taxpayer, I'm overpaying when people who are accepting my financial support overpay. This is not a Special Lady Problem.

I think the media's treatment of this as significant, as well as the Senator's comments, make it relevant. You have an elected official using a coincidence to draw an unfavorable comparison between men and women, and major media outlets amplifying it.

TWoX has another version of this story up. It's also vaguely anti-male, but has a quote from the Senator saying how it speaks to the hardiness of women. I noted sarcastically that this must be why women so often take jobs in the elements, like snow removal and fixing power lines. I was immediately banned. To be fair, I think they were already mad because I suggested that variable pricing on products for women affected men as well (I pay for my wife's and daughter's hair care stuff, for instance)…

I was hoping there would be some way to explain it as criticizing rape culture, like Amy Schumers Football Town Nights skit. But no.

When that dentist shot the lion every story about it had a comment section advocating one method of death or another for the guy.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
