You may be onto something here. Gardening men I know are much older, but they have a sense of peace and contentment about them. They created spaces for themselves that bring joy to everyone, and they enjoy compliments on their gardens with a kind of humble pride. It's so cute!

I don't like eye contact either, but if it's a guy I feel like signalling, I'll look at things around him until I notice him looking in my direction in my periphs, and then then I make eye contact for a split second and exaggeratedly look away, then shoot my eyes back and then touch my hair. 😂 Has worked everytime. That's true, but in my experience, most of the women don't show up to the garden until harvest time. Repairing raised beds, pulling weeds, and nailing down cover with old men reminds me of time spent with my dad doing dirty jobs as a tomboyish teen, but it doesn't do much to make me feel super feminine. I enjoy helping out with my community garden (almost harvest time!), and I go to a yarn crafts group to crochet hats and scarves for the needy (winters are rough here) and listen to the distinguished older ladies in my city. I'd say that even though I'm getting dirty in the garden and being handy in the yarn circle, nurturing life and creating useful things for others is a great way to cultivate femininity. 😊
