You say you want a world view as realistic as possible, but in your last paragraph you talk about how unfair the world is :) If you really had adopted a realistic world view then life would be your bitch by now. I don't know if I can say anymore than what I've already said, dude, you've got the wrong world view here, your mindset is so congruent with that of a depressed person in that you see nothing in people worth liking. We are battling perspectives here and it could go on forever, so I will …

Thanks! It's may be my favourite too, although "The Master" is a strong contender for the spot.

I've been pondering what to reply for some time now, with no luck, so I'm just going to write what's on my mind. Your worldview, according to your post, is very bleak, and I simply do not agree with it. You say people are generally dispassionate and live their lives aimlessly, what you've screened all 3-4 billion women on this planet? It may be a cliché analogy but you can't learn how to ride a bike by reading about it, you have to learn it by practicing. There's really no other way than to follow the general advice in here, start being…

I'm going to give you my two cents as a somewhat former introvert (I've also been dealing with depression for a long time), this is all from self-experience so don't take it personally. Your self-perception is off scale here, I'm guessing you've never really fit in? So you find consolence in the fact that you think you are "special", that you have something most others don't, be it intelligence, wisdom, whatever. The large majority is stupid or average? My friend, you are part of that very avera…

Could you give an example of how he could have qualified or challenged her? I'm still quite new to these concepts

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
