It was a big shift for me. In the past id hav offered up a coffee date instead or moved my schedule around. I acted like I was the one auditioning. FDS shifted that for me. It’s my life. I’m the star. If you want a supporting role then you’d better perform cause you’re replaceable.

Therapy was my first stop. Take baby steps if you need to but you deserve better.

Right? It was art. Delicious art. We talked about that meal all week!

It’s like they resent any expectation of effort at all.

Well after a year or so of endless bad tinder dates I decided to take a break. I learned how to be happy as a single woman. So I had a lot more confidence when I met my boyfriend. He’d initially said he wanted to take me out but he had a busy work schedule. I responded by saying that I didn’t have interest if he wasn’t going to regularly have time for me. He made time to meet the next day. I think it’s been a combination of a better man and a better woman. I talk about what I want all the time. …

It took me a long time to learn it but I’m grateful regardless. I just wish FDS had been around when I was a teenager!

I’ve found this to be very true. Validation and appreciation is powerful. I use it all the time, with all kinds of relationships, at work, as a parent, etc.

It was really demoralizing when I lost weight after high school and suddenly all of the guys who acted like I was invisible back then now wanted my attention. I get it. Physical appearances matter. But damn. It makes me feel much better that now more than ten years later those assholes are either balding, fat, or both.

It depends. Any hobby can be a dealbreaker in excess.

I think that men are human and therefore capable of growth and change. I mean, I’m a vastly different partner now than I was in my last relationship. That being said, the beginning is almost always nice so who knows if it’ll last. He doesn’t sound like he deserves a second of your time so hopefully you’re able to let this go.

Of course they can. Doesn’t mean you should sit around and wait to find out though!

Yea there are articles that dispel this info. There’s too many factors to consider to just blame cohabitation.

They both sound like assholes to me. Liars and manipulators. Sounds like they deserve each other.

Oooh okay. Yea I’d be pissed too I’m this situation. He’s a grown ass man. My child already knows how to make a holiday special. This guy has no excuse.

What time is it where you are? Maybe he’s surprising you later? Although if you’re this upset and ready to end it then I suppose there are other red flags at play.

I spent my last relationship just like this girl. Pretending and rationalizing to myself for years that I was fine with low effort holidays. Making sure everyone knew that I was too pragmatic and sensible for romance. Not like other girls. Ugh. Gross. I love romantic gestures and pre planned dates and surprises and any man who loves me would know that and have fun doing those things for me. Life is so much better now that I’m honest with myself and my desires. My boyfriend tries so hard for me n…

My boyfriend planned a surprise for me a few weeks ago but because he told me I’d need a swimsuit in February I asked him to please just tell me what we were doing, lol. We’re going to a luxurious bathhouse and getting massages. Followed by my favorite dessert in the city. It’s also a tradition that he brings me lunch on actual Vday and we have a picnic in the car so I can escape from work for a bit. I got him chocolate covered cherries for our picnic but I got him concert tickets for his actual…

I met my boyfriend online. I went on probably twenty bad dates in the two years, off and on, I was trying before I found him. He was different from the rest from the very beginning.

The absolute disregard for the negative effects of hormonal birth control makes me so angry. I’ve tried so many pills. Two iuds. They’ve all negatively impacted my life. So grateful my partner got a vasectomy.

There are so many guys who just want the ego boost of women texting them. My current partner expressed interest in meeting very quickly but he was having a really busy week at work. I told him I had no interest in even meeting someone if he didn’t have regular availability. Magically he was able to meet me the very next day for dinner. Standards from day one.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
