I come from a country that has had two female presidents. One was rather incompetent and the other was incredibly corrupt. I think people here are now well aware of the fact that gender does not necessarily determine one's ability to lead.

This reminds me of the whole Boko Haram child kidnapping cases in Nigeria. People only started paying attention when those schoolgirls were kidnapped. People completely ignored the fact that before that kidnapping, hundreds or even thousands of boys were already being kidnapped, tortured, raped, enslaved, or forced to work as child soldiers.

They use "fragile masculinity" to refer to a wide variety of scenarios, many of which don't even make sense anymore. I've seen that phrase being used to describe how some men are uncomfortable getting changed/undressed/shirtless in front of a woman like WTF.

Like that one time when this female Australian politician used that term on her male colleague during a parliamentary session (or something like that) and she got ripped apart for it.

This is what usually happens, and people don't realize the irony of it. Last year (or was it two years ago?), there wasn't a single male candidate in my university's student government elections. When the candidates for both political parties were announced, the general reaction was "Woohooo, girl power!". Imagine the backlash if all the candidates turned out to be male. So much for "diversity" and "representation".

I saw this on Facebook a few days ago, then looked it up on Twitter and the whole thread is glorious. Both the OP and the guy who replied are from India, and the OP is your typical "woke" upper middle class SJW. So many people (including women) were applauding the guy for his reply, and the OP was getting so defensive.

Against a Haitian-Japanese woman. Does Serena even realize how badly mixed-race people (especially half-black ones) are treated in Japan?

Yep, which is why it's more common to hear about women going through a "lesbian phase" as opposed to men going through a "gay phase". I know some women who were in a relationship with a woman before but are now happily in a heterosexual relationship. The reverse is also true - there's another woman I know (who has had boyfriends in the past, and has had crushes on guys) who is currently in a relationship with another woman, but I feel like it's because it's what works for her now. I'm willing to…

Oh, that explains it. Now with this whole Jimmy Bennett assault issue out in the public, things just got a lot messier.

When was this article published? It doesn't seem to mention the fact that Argento herself, a #MeToo advocate, is an abuser.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
