I would think "stepping up" means different things between a single mother vs a single father. In the case of a single mom, stepping up likely means becoming the provider for that family for the man. The other way around I would think it means finding a "motherly" woman who (I'd think) in exchange doesn't need to work. I don't think it is a 1 to 1 comparison but both exist on both sides.

I don't think it is because we are purposely dumb. We are wired that way.

I have no data to back this up but I think the culprit is the unnaturalness of online dating (being able to quickly swipe between options) amplifying forces that would naturally occur to create a more uneven distribution.

I once was in a serious relationship where we both said we'd have our backs if anything bad financially happen to either of us. I lost my business and it took me about 2-3 months to get another job. I was able to pay for my portion of rent during that time and utilities (off savings) and she covered my portion of groceries and similar expenses during that time. We didn't go out during that time. Although I was actively fixing my situation and took care of everything house related, she made it he…

I agree with your points. The pareto principle has been misused tremendously. However, I think you shouldn't be so hard on semantics because it obscures one of the main pain-points men bring on this sub. Not everybody in society knows how to present and/or debate an argument the right way unfortunately and it is easy to drown someone's pain point in technicalities. My conclusion from continually reading this point on this sub by other men is that they are indeed frustrated by a very infertile da…

I understand your point and I share the same feeling. I'm not a high-high earner but I do ok with the amount of money and free time I get from my business. I agree with the sentiment completely. Marriage from this position (at least the way marriage is setup right now) does feel like a huge vulnerability. If things go south, I am the only one that loses from the arrangement so it feels stupid to get married.

You make a wonderful point. Unfortunately, most of those concepts are not mainstream and thus I don't think are good counterarguments to OP. However, more options, like you mention, should be mainstream.

It's really a good advantage. I don't take care of my looks, skin or hair and I wake up looking fabulous lol ... I don't grow a thick beard or stuff like that and I used to wish I had different traits but this has been working out great the older I get because I look youngish.

I tried to be clear about the jealousy point. I did get jealous as did she. Jealousy doesn't magically disappear - and I would even go as far as saying you don't want it to disappear in a relationship. What I was trying to say is that my attitude towards jealousy changed tremendously. I would have never ever hit on another girl in front of her. That would have been extremely inconsiderate. Not something you do to someone you love. I am from another country than her so I was glad she got treated …

I didn't say my partner was flirting. I said the other person was flirting with her. Relax, nobody is forcing anything on to you. I am just sharing my experience. I doubt you can see a pattern. You really dont know what kind of relationship or what kind of poly relationship we had. Sounds like you are inferring things for the purpose of maintaining a bias. The whole purpose of this sub is to learn. You don't have to agree with everything but you are for sure missing out not having an open mind.

I had one polyamorous relationship. It is one of the best relationships I've ever had if not the best. If you take away the "ownership" portion of a relationship AND have the maturity to handle it, you are basically with the other person because you truly appreciate who she /he is. It is a deep level of friendship. In all honestly, if this were more common, it would be a healthy sign of our society. I do want to clarify that polyamorous is *not* synonymous with no rules. We did have some rules. …

I wasn't referring to any of that in my original comment. My comment was an answer to OPs complain that women gravitate towards "negative" personalities as if they are making a choice to fall for them. What I was saying is that the personality types women are attracted to are not based on a logical choice made by women but rather it is the result of a long evolutionary process in which women's preferences need to account for the situation pregnancy creates. At a first layer level, we don't choos…

/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/22 04:20 PM

You are missing the point. The personalities and characteristic women are attracted to are the result of a long evolutionary history in which they have to be "pickier" than guys because of the risk of pregnancy. What you are saying is akin to saying that it doesn't make sense that someone likes sugar now that Splenda exists. You like sugar because of our evolutionary past. Did you choose to like girls? Breasts? Butts? No.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/22 04:17 PM
1

The filter chooses the square jawed hunk because in our evolutionary past that was higher chances of surviving than a weak man. Women don't choose what type of guys they are attracted to no more than you choose liking sugary foods.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/22 04:09 PM
5

Again, women aren't choosing what personality traits they are attracted to. What they are attracted to is the result of a long evolutionary history that is shaped by the fact they are the sex that carries offspring. Just like you are attracted to a certain type of physical characteristics without knowing why so are girls attracted to certain personality types without knowing why.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/22 12:24 AM
1

The short answer to your question is that those traits (which you say seem bad by modern standards) were higher predictors of survival for most of our evolutionary history. Women don't select men based on a logical algorithm just like men also aren't attracted to women based on a logical algorithm. There is no rational decision making on your part when you follow a 10/10 model on instagram. Likewise, women are attracted to men for equally "primitive" reasons. Not a single one of the sexes is act…

Women get pregnant. Getting pregnant leaves you vulnerable. It is very high risk. Guys dont get pregnant. Is it really that far fetched that women would have a more comprehensive filtering process?

You can forget what people say or give to you but not how they made you feel. When I (Male) moved back to my home city after being away for 12 yrs, I met this redhead I found insanely hot. I wasn't looking for a relationship and neither was she. We had amazing chemistry and great times together having fun and getting into all kinds of adventures. We made hundreds of stories in the relatively short time we were "together." We had crazy passionate sex. We were full of desire for each other. She is…

Everything being distributed in a bell curve means you are going to find women with higher libido dating guys with lower libido. Naturally, it doesn't represent the majority of cases and it deserves its own conversation to talk about its particularities. With that being said, and returning to the topic of women not interested in sex, I think one of the points that OP is trying to make (albeit, not greatly) that is important for this conversation is that indeed living with a female partner who is…

Can't imagine that being sustainable long term. It's interesting how many women here downplay that situation. It is a difficult situation catch22 because the moment you bring it up to talk about it like you would in a healthy relationship, it feels to them like you are asking for it which makes women want it less, feeling like a chose and such.

I used to be in a LTR where the girl would barely have sex with me at the end. I tried to be a good partner and initiate in all the best ways I could. Eventually I broke off the relationship which she didn't want to break off and thought it was ridiculous that one of my reasons was lack of sex. Some women on this sub really undermine how frustrating of a situation it is to not have sex with your partner. Without telling you what to do, if you really want to understand the opposite sex better, ta…

This is the right answer. Social media (at least the attention-seeking way it has been built) is bad for human interrelations and society. There's a study where kids 10 yr old who've used SM from an early age had the social abilities of 4 yr olds.

The other side of the coin is pretty good isn't? The guy is "expected" to take lead... And women like that. You get to move her in different positions and do many things and whatnot. Always saw it as a win/win privilege because the girls like it.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/04/22 04:12 PM

I agree with your point but I would add that your looks (scale 0-10) measures something different than SMV. We know that girls are "choosier" for biological reasons than men. So a 6 girl is not necessarily looking for a 6 guy. The difference of what it would take for a hookup is even larger. The SMV, as you say, is based on your actual opportunities whereas the 0-10 scale measures looks. Related but definitely not the same.

I wasn't expecting that the girls were going to defend the fake photos. They are blaming it on the guy for falling for it. Sounds like gaslighting. I don't think any of the pill philosophies support the extremes some girls are showing on social media. It's like saying that a company can put a fake job offer out there and then have you waste your time trying to go interview for them when the offer is something different.

Recently went out with a girl that looked nothing like her social media pictures. It was very disappointing. I could have kept going out with her (had she been honest) but that level of dishonesty is a deal breaker. I get some makeup is good and I like it but between makeup and filters what they are showing is lies.

I am in favour of more birth control for men. It's crazy that options like risug are not available. To the point though, just like we want more options in birth control we also want options for parenthood. This is a very reasonable idea but it does require a totally different society.

I think you are being too quick to judge. As I understand OP's argument, people would get to chose to be a parent. I think it is a great idea but very "futuristic" in the sense that it would require more access to abortion clinics and a host of other guarantees.

I've had similar experiences. Another one is if I'm out with an attractive girl at a restaurant or bar having a good time. If I have a male waiter, he'll give me very poor service. I get the feeling they think "this guys has it too good." This is despite the fact I am polite and tip above average. Definitely a lot ob jealously beyond those scenarios.

Well I mean, high quality people depends on what you mean. For me, the fact that they went to school to "catch" a dude with a good profession felt dirty at that point in time. I personally wouldnt consider them high quality from that perspective. Social-sexual market wise (or whatever we call that lol), they were all very attractive girls.

I know at least 3 girls that went to med school to do this. They ended up dropping out and dating guys that went on to become doctors. At least one of them that I know got pregnant while he was still in school. It happens for sure.

I think intelligence by itself may not be very attractive but intelligence put to use might be. If someone has intelligence but doesn't have the character to use it, it's as if the person didn't have the intelligence. On the other end, if someone has intelligence and the character to use it and does so, the person is usually very attractive. Yes, we are creatures born with intelligence but also with a character that needs to develop to utilize it. Our first ancestors that had access to fire took…

I agree with what you are saying and really is the best perspective. I wasn't trying to say it is impossible or that he shouldn't try. Quite the opposite. I was more trying to say that his point that it is hard for young men has substance. Hard? Yes. Try? Of course!

I understand your point regarding need and value. However, I feel it misses the point of what this young man is expressing. A young woman will have options to date people her age and up while this option will not be available to him (plus other factors like the one he mentioned). Overall, giving a young girl the feeling of plenty of opportunities and more likely to leave. It's a sound argument to me because young people are not thinking of relationships in a mature/long term framework, and reall…
