10	How to talk about my estranged family I would probably wait until things got serious to mention it; that sort of thing is deeply personal, and not really anybody else's business until you choose to share it. Personally, I'd probably share it after I was in a serious relationship with somebody and the topic of family came up, but that's just me. A simple "my family and I aren't close" should suffice if something comes up before you're ready to discuss it, and then you can just open up as you're comfortable.
