A man who has to pay child support for a child that is not biologically his and where he didn't sign the birth certificate seems like an exaggeration to me. No one in this thread has yet to find a link that says this isn't an exaggeration of the truth. I feel hyperbole is apt but you're entitled to disagree and I'd certainly never downvote you for having a conflicting opinion from mine.

Strange that the entire MensRights army can't find any mention of it on the internet though. My point is simply that if you can't substantiate a claim with a source it will make it difficult to argue our general point of view. I agree with 90% of what I read here and often argue for the cause of fairness for both sexes. But I also know where to go to back up any claims that I do make. I also think the hivemind mentality here is fairly absurd at times. You may disagree with what I have to say but…

Perhaps you were using hyperbole to spread misinformation and you should do your research first? You could be right but you also could be wrong and are you going to go to all the people you've spoken to about this and tell them you were misinformed?

I honestly had no overtone of criticism when I wrote that. I wanted to link to it in my own journal and wanted something with a bit more recent date, but it doesn't matter at all. All I did was ask a question. I think the implied overtone doesn't come from the sentence but from the reader, and as a subreddit, you seem to read things with an assumed negativity. All I did was ask a question.

Thank you genuinely.

Thank you for that explanation. All I asked was why. In no way did it deserve 10 downvotes. Bitter fucking subreddit.

Can someone give me one reason from the reddiquette guide why I'm being downvoted? I asked for a link to the original journal and even that got downvoted. Why is this reddit full of jaded people with no respect for the rules?

I'm just curious why it's getting noted now. I'd also like to find a link to the actual journal. Anyone have that?

Something more recent than 2007 by any chance?

I don't like your first statement. Feminism at first was very well-reasoned. It gave many women an outlet for discussing those things where they felt they were being treated unfairly. Just as the Men's Rights movement is doing now. What bothers me about current feminism is that many women are going too far with it and ignoring the genuine issues men are fighting but saying feminism isn't well-reasoned is like saying Men's Rights isn't well-reasoned, which is wrong.

Probably around 50%. Everyone has an agenda. But some points like the wage disparity myth, custody inequality, and the genuine loss of identity for most men, I feel are valid.

If you agree with this you must also hate Men's Rights. Feminism is the pursuit of equality. Anything else is not feminism and simply militarism. If you agree with anything this author wrote, you need to grow up.

I didn't realize the feminists were trying to take away that 'right'.

What on earth does this have to do with men's rights?

Very tongue-in-cheek. If you were sending it to fox news im sure they wouldn't even realize the sarcasm. Hopefully it doesn't fall on deaf ears.

"Which is just as the MRA movement wants it. Me Tarzan. You barefoot, pregnant and bringing me a sandwich." wow. this woman needs to get her facts straight.

$60 million for 24 months? That kids father sheltered him too much. But he also turned him into the greatest golfer of all time. I just don't think Tiger was prepared for this new lifestyle. Reminds me of Michael Jackson for whatever reason.

A friend of mine who's trying to be a model in Toronto had her much, much older acting teacher come on to her not aggressively or overtly sexually but saying how much he loved her and how he would take care of her and yada yada. I think this author needs to watch the move Election. The older can get slightly demented regardless of gender. Any court inequality should be corrected as this case, thankfully, has done. It's wrong and they should be punished accordingly.

Most relationships have a lot of strain when just one person is medicated (alcohol is her medication). I think you need to accept that the reason why she drinks and the reason you need anti-depressants, are one in the same. Some time away from each other is what I genuinely recommend. If you could find someone that wasn't on meds and that you really liked in a bunch of ways, I bet you'd need far fewer pills to stay happy.

Witnesses is irrelevant. We're speaking about the truth and the truth can happen with or without witnesses. I'm not saying what I said is what happened. I have no clue. But neither does anyone else in this thread. But just cause you're drunk doesn't mean you have the right to fuck girls against their will. Making mistakes while drunk is one thing. Gang raping a girl is another. But then again, they may be genuinely innocent. Again, I have no clue. But neither does anyone else in this thread.

Devil's Advocate. Let the downvotes begin. You all automatically assume that she lied with her previous statement. Did it not occur to any of you that perhaps she's lying about it not being a rape because she doesn't want to deal with going through the court system and sending these guys to jail for a really long time? You all have automatically assumed that she wasn't raped. Maybe she's actually an incredibly nice person who drank too much, was genuinely raped, but didn't want to send these 3 g…

I'm sorry that I missed it but where in this research paper does it say what the title of this reddit says? Thank you for the article regardless. But your title needs [citation needed] added to it.

I liked this video so much I wrote a journal entry about it on a site i frequent even more than this one. i'm wondering what people's thoughts are: now some simpletons will automatically turn their nose at the argument for equality for men. but some simple facts: -82% of people who have been laid off during this depression are male -males are 10x more likely to commit suicide after a divorce -males have never been accepted by society to be the homemakers -males, by and large, work the most dange…

Great response. I've been told that I can take things too seriously and you're probably right that that is the case here. I'm perfect troll material and I should try not to be. My point is still valid though :Þ Reading some of my comments I can see where I gave the impression of being holier than thou. I'm quite humble and love to be corrected. Thank you for your comment.

So only those people who post articles are at liberty to speak? One can't merely be a commenter? Guess I missed that part of the FAQ as well. Any time I've attempted a submission it gets buried, and worse I get a couple down votes by the bots. The only post I've done that had any sort of traction was one that I posted to the Canadian subreddit regarding soldier deaths in Afghanistan. 80% of my time on this board is spent reading comments so why can't I comment on things I'd like to comment on? S…

Women achieved equality decades ago? I really should remove myself from this subreddit cause I try to state my opinion, which I feel is fairly grounded in reality, with a strong emphasis on fairness. But as I can see, my opinion is not cared for here. Pity, there are lots of really good articles, such as this one, that I'll miss. But comments like that make me realize I'll never see things as you people do. Yuck, a generalization. I hate those.

I know lots of very logical women who don't use emotion for most of their problems. I know some big ass wuss guys who use emotion for almost all of their social interactions. My mom is the most level headed person I know. My dad goes off the deep end daily about silly things. Generalizations don't help any problem. THAT IS MY ONLY POINT. I'm not trying to get laid, especially on reddit of all places. This place is full of pretentious people like yourself who can't figure out a simple fucking poi…

I apologize for my first statement. I'd never go to feminism cause like I said, the super feminists are far worse than anyone I've met in this subreddit. But I usually avoid insults and it was beneath me to stoop. Sorry. Google Queen Elizabeth or Margaret Thatcher or Marie Curie or a million other women who have all shown extreme capacity for logic. I'm getting really bothered by this subreddit as of late. I joined it with the thought that I would find interesting articles/comments regarding Men…

The expression could care less means that a person could care less. It does not mean that a person could care less but chooses not to do so. You just tacked on more words to the expression than the actual expression. If that is what you believe, I find it extremely confusing, and upon quick googling of the two expressions it's generally agreed on that people that say could care less are incorrect. But if you want to dismantle the English language even more than it already has, I guess have fun w…

I never said women don't run on emotions. I know many that do. I just think saying women don't use logic is extremely rude.

a) the expression is couldn't care less. could care less is a meaningless statement. b) that first sentence is absolutely retarded. woman run on both just like men. shit like that will only serve as backlash fodder to the cause of genuine equal rights.

Please enlighten me. I'll read any link you provide. I'm not hear to fight, I'm hear to become more educated on a variety of topics. I never said once that there aren't a lot of cases of false rape claims. What I'm saying is that they pale (and my guess is by a large margin), to the cases of unpunished rape. Stop attacking me and start educating me. If you feel you are right help me understand your point more clearly. I never attacked you once, you've attacked me 3 or 4 times. I'll continue bein…

Your assumptions of me because of my stated opinion show your moral grotesqueness more than my own. I've known 3 girls who were all raped. And I've personally felt the wrath of friends for a girl accusing me of doing something I know I'm incapable of. I've felt the sting of this problem yet I still think this problem pales in comparison to the far bigger problem of unpunished rape. Are false rape claims a serious issue? of course Should those who are proven to be guilty of such an offense be pun…

I'm a guy and I don't hate males. Just making an obvious point that these cases occur at a far less frequency than rape without conviction, let alone rape, regardless of conviction. Maybe if guys stopped raping girls so much we'd be able to address this problem of false accusations with some more credibility.

it'll be pretty sad when the men that are falsely accused of rape reaches 10% of the amount of guys who commit rape who never get charged for anything. when false rape claims get to 10% of real rape non-claims i'll start to become interested.

Just the same as I wouldn't want to get into a battle over criminal punishment by race. That isn't the point. The title is sensationalist and the article is completely opposite to the posters argument.

Many men get away with murder as well. What a silly title. You can't link to articles where justice was served and then say "but this doesn't happen all the time!". I won't downvote but I'm sure you will.

of course i'll get downmodded but can i state the obvious? she called the police saying my husband is trying to kill me so when the cops showed up, that's what they had to go on. they acted appropriately. the other obvious point is that the wife clearly did have mental issues cause she went for a 7 hour walk with her children to the point that they were almost hypothermic. yes, it's unfair that he's assumed to be in the wrong but that IS how the 911 call was placed. in this particular case I don…
