That's a very good point about the disclaimer and how it reflects on my treating my audience. I can trace that to a very specific work event (and person) which has stayed with me since then. Sounds like I need to ditch that and assume everyone has a modicum of intelligence.

I've seen, and anticipate getting some hard truth. I'll compose something later today when I get some downtime.

Been reading his comment history, and resonate with a lot of the things he says (good and bad). Very insightful and entertaining to say the least. Playing NMMNG on repeat to make sure it sinks in and internalizing what he has to say. I think the most accurate way to describe what I feel is constant preturbment and anxiety. Working on using it to fuel my drive.

Yes, I'm actually headed to the gym right now. I was training for military PT tests, but that was an arbitrary fitness goal. I started SS at the beginning of the year and got sidetracked into this for whatever the reason was. I had my first 'decision' earlier when asked what I wanted to do. I had an opinion, stuck to it, and finished it out (building shelves for the hallway) instead of going out for ice cream. She came back happy, I'm happy I finished what I started. One day at a time...

Yes, I'll reference the sidebar. I've had some serious anxiety about the revelations over the past few days. I expect to feel a lot more then just that along this road. I've rambo'd other activities in the past, and then lost interest and fell back into old ways after a short time. I haven't ever had a profound feeling and disgust with myself as with the NNMNG revelation. Here's to making it stick! Getting back into SS this afternoon.

That, I can get behind. I grabbed that book, and many others this morning. I'll review it tonight. As far as the disclaimer, is this different than building a frame of reference for discussion as with describing preceding events? Or is it seen more as a pre-justification for actions/words?

Whew, good to know. Secondary question: how do I deal with a wife that has depression/anxiety? I feel like this may amplify the negative reactions I've received but don't have a frame of reference with which to handle it, particularly from the MRP perspective.

Not trying to be self deprecating, merely statement of fact. I'll look up the DHV items and see what I can incorporate easiest. Where are the laws found?

I've got dress covered, plenty of well fitting stuff and my own style. Social activities are tough; she's a stay at home mom and fixing to start a job so we can save a little extra cash. When I get home it's usually a mad dash to relieve her from the stress of being at home all day without adult interaction. Shit tests.. That's my learning activity for today.

I know for certain where I fall short here. No picking on her, real flirting and making her feel desired... All of that has fallen by the wayside. I've mistakenly placed priority in getting things done around the house, defending myself, fixing problems, etc... Classic nice guy behavior.

How do you balance being a considerate husband and maintaining a balance in the home vs not asking permission? For example, eating the last of something. She may have intentions to eat it later or use it for the next family meal. But I don't know until I ask...

Awesome, thank you for the tip. I'll make sure to do that. I think more than anything I'm still in shock at discovering a more realistic and representative nature of myself and how I have been groomed over the years.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
