Thing is I'm not really attracted to her. :( But I'd give her a chance probably if she lived in my area.

Maybe I'm just not trying hard enough. I mean I've tried the dating apps, I had no luck, but those are for hookups mostly anyway. It's hard meeting people IRL, I've met some women who don't treat me like a child or an ogre but they're usually in relationships already. When you're 31 years old you're obviously not in school anymore so your options for venues are pretty limited. Sure there's some "meetups" but those groups tend to be pretty closed off and cliquey ironically. BTW, I'm not a rude or…

I don't know, the posts I've seen from Aspie girls online seem to suggest many of them prefer NT guys (assuming they're straight), and think Aspie guys are "too aspie" for them. I do have an online Aspie friend though who seems to kinda dig me, too bad she lives in New Zealand and I'm American lol.

I like the way you think!

Right. Obviously it's not the same degree or even magnitude of fucked up, but in principle it's similar.

That's a good point. MGTOW circles are often pretty toxic. I guess I more meant it from the idea of "being a monk and leaving the situation", as an old rap song puts it, not engaging in sad woman hating bullshit. Sometimes I wonder if it's worth trying, for me in particular.

I would say yes.

I guess where I see it as being kind of cruel is when the simp has a mental disability. Let's face it, a lot of these guys are not neurotypical and it's not really their fault they're acting that way. If you're on the spectrum, or even just have intellectual disability it's harder to understand that something like romantic love is more complicated than just showing you're into somebody through gestures and gifts, that it requires chemistry and intangibles, etc. I think if you know that an indivi…

That's a really balanced and reasonable POV, imo. I don't think you should blame yourself, you didn't let them expend their resources on you. Honestly I think some of those guys, especially the otaku types get attention from women so rarely that they assume any kind of attention from a woman suggests sexual interest. It's kind of self fulfilling too - because so many men believe that, a lot of women end up only being friendly to guys they are attracted to. I hope my OP doesn't make people think …

The thing is a lot of men who simp have mental conditions that make them not always act in rational, normal ways. I think accepting favors from them when you know they aren't fully capable of good judgment is wrong. It's comparable in a way to drug dealers and cigarette companies taking advantage of people's addictions. Yes people choose to use these substances, but they often have underlying problems which motivate them to do so. I think when you overestimate people's level of free will it can …

Yeah I work opening shifts at a grocery store, all morning shifts now. I've gotten kinda used to it but it kicks my ass, especially being a night owl. I just sleep a lot during the day.

Yeah I just wouldn't wanna sleep together all the time. Not if I have work. Fuck that reminds me, gotta get up at 5:30 AM today and it's already 11:30 lol.

I don't get why men have to be demonized in order to defend women. It's true that women commit less blatantly violent acts than men as a group, but I don't think women are actually better. Of course the smaller, physically weaker sex won't be committing as many physical acts of aggression and will be more fearful of retaliation. When it comes to social aggression women are just as cruel as men.

I'm always working on myself. It's just hard when you're not only aspie, but you have a mood disorder (I'm also bipolar) and the side effects of the meds make it hard to find the motivation to do much more than work, smoke cigarettes and be a couch potato lol. I do read/watch a lot of self help stuff though and I've trained myself to read people better and to overcome my social anxiety.

What's his secret? I could actually see certain personality traits combined with being on the spectrum working. It seems like Aspies tend to either be neurotic doormats due to being shut down and humiliated by people or confident, fearless people who don't take shit from anyone - I'm guessing your dude is the latter? Edit: Some of us are actually pretty hot too. I'm not one of them, but I've seen some good looking Aspie guys.

Still not getting any action, but more content with my situation. I know I don't need a fairytale romance to be happy. Being single really isn't that bad, though realizing I'm 31 and still haven't been in a relationship does bum me out. But I don't feel the need to simp anymore.

Yes I agree with you.

Honestly if you're like me (overweight, on the spectrum AND bipolar, anxious and self conscious, broke) finding a partner who you like, who likes you back, and you can have a successful long term relationship with is like winning the jackpot. I'm 31 now, I'm not saying it will never happen for me, but I've come to peace with the idea I might always be single. And I've actually come to enjoy it - I like solitude, having my own space, not having people nag me, etc. It's really not that bad.

I agree with the sentiment, but all of these guys are good looking and successful, so the point falls a bit flat.

Right. The lottery is a good analogy. Most people who play the lottery don't have a lot of options or skills that could make them wealthy, so they go for the long shot of getting lucky by performing an action (purchasing an extremely miniscule chance at riches) that is slightly insane. It's the same with simps - they don't have any game and can't read people, so they hope against the odds they can win over a woman with their persistence and loyalty, without bringing the things that actually attr…

The men have attractive personalities, are probably Type A go-getters, or if they aren't they're chill and funny Type Bs who are fun to be around.

Only God, your parents and cats and dogs will love you unconditionally. If you're lucky you might get that from a best friend or a sibling too.

I wouldn't rule out DV as a fact of life in those polygamous marriages either, or assume that women were entering them willingly. That's a good point. I mean concubinage etc wasn't great for women to say the very least. That's true about people's standards being unreasonably high too. I think the mistake people make, especially men actually, is believing in soulmates. Soulmates don't exist, but reality is better - there are plenty of people, not just one, who are potentially compatible with you.…

Women have more power to choose men they are really attracted to for a few reasons. Society is more mobile, both economically and in the sense of physical travel, women can make their own money, monogamy and marriage are slowly dying out, etc.

I see patriarchy as being connected to the agro-industrial era, where there is surplus of goods and it's possible for people to specialize in things other than hunting and gathering food, but information is still distributed hierarchally. The Internet and other things are changing things and pushing us into a new era but overall we are still mostly in the agro-industrial era. People still want Kings deep down, that's why we have a President.

Haha, I was describing myself too. I'm an autistic INFP so I fit that too a tee (though I would say self-centered in more of a "navel gazily" type of way rather than a narcissistic way).

Not true at all. A man can be plenty attractive but if he's a self-conscious dork most women will lose attraction as soon as he opens his mouth.

Using triarchic description of psychopathy it was found women select for low anxiety and low inhibition more than meanness. Exactly - less neuroticism. Though low inhibition might correlate to lower Orderliness, which goes against my hypothesis that women like conscientious men. But I still think Industriousness (which is part of conscientiousness) is attractive to women - that's why wealth is a signal of sexual virtue to many women.

Exactly. Plenty of ugly men get laid and even have hot girlfriends, because they have decent social skills and an attractive OCEAN/Big Five personality profile.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
