Don't do this on the "company" email account. The server is their property, and they control it. Use a separate, personal email account via the web, set up solely for the purpose of documenting this problem. Frankly, the main use of this sort of documentation is to prevent them gaslighting you, and to keep yourself sane. Obviously, you being in the medical field, you're going to be very careful about medical confidentiality. IANAL. :)

The main thing is not to do nothing. At minimum, I'd sit down and write down my version of what happened, just so that I could be clear about it later, in the event of gaslighting. By all means consult a lawyer. You're not bound to take their advice, and however much or little you spend, it's likely to be cheaper than the cost of ignorance. But don't flap your gums about it (or anything, in this situation) even, perhaps especially to your friends. You want to aim for a measured response. Don't "…

Why are we surprised? If some idiot leaned over a tiger cage and held out an olive branch we wouldn't be surprised when he got mauled. Feminists aren't interested in olives, they go for the meat. What depresses me is the number of men who want to continue with the same strategy of appeasement. “Insanity is doing the same thing, over and over again, but expecting different results.” Albert Einstein.

Y'know, when I read: ...being forced to act that way, by a society that devalues our creativity, devalues our pleasure, and only even pretends to respect us when we go all in-on capitalism at its ugliest, and do the work that no one else wants to do. I guess she'd never noticed, (being incapable of thinking about anyone except herself) that there's another group of people who are treated that way, and have been so treated for a long time too. And the feminists don't give a damn about them.

Write yourself a letter so you don't forget what you're feeling now. That way if in a few months (or years) you think you've maybe met a unicorn and are tempted to ignore the red flags, you can remind yourself what life in the trap felt like.

It's human nature to value something more if we've had to put time and effort into getting it. So for many women (particularly if they were pretty as teenagers and young girls, because early experiences have a more formative effect on opinions) their experience of relationships is that they "just happen". The boys were falling all over themselves in order to date them. So from her perspective: no effort (on her part) = no value (to her.) But from the guy's point of view, he had to take social ri…

If you're just starting out cooking, look for cookery books marketed towards students. These books usually have good meals using cheap ingredients, and most importantly, they have clear explanations and don't expect you to already know what "butterflying" or a "bain marie" is.

Don't forget that meat is a muscle. When you cook it, it "tenses up." Put it aside, covered, for about 10mins and you'll likely find it more tender because the proteins have relaxed again. Cover with something like saran wrap to act as a juice barrier, and then a folded tea towel over that to keep in the heat. Of course it depends on the cut. If you've bought e.g. shin of beef ("stewing steak") then frying it will result in meat like indiarubber no matter how long you leave it to rest. That's be…

But the physical influences the mental. I remember reading about someone who was transitioning from being a female to being a male. At the time she was living in an all-female shared house, and said that when problems arose, they got out the Nescafe and a plate of biscuits, and talked the problem out -- and she was fine with this and felt that it was normal and sensible. However, part of her transitioning process was that she bagan taking male hormones. As the level of androgens (I think it was …

I'd say MGTOW (the movement, not the subreddit) is a rational response to the realization that western society has been systematically rigged to benefit women at the expense of men. It does not advocate any particular course of action beyond rejecting the blue pill "Fairytale" narrative and accurately evaluating the risks vs. the benefits of becoming involved with an authoritarian State which disparages men's human rights, particularly the right to natural justice.

Perhaps you could take a leaf from r/menkapmpf and prepare a carefully photoshopped version (e.g. "The Future is White") to illustrate your point? For the hard of thinking, I'd watermark it with something like "illustrative of an offensive attitude" to prevent it being used against you. I'm not going to change my opinions because someone called me "far right". But they're gambling that you might be more cautious about expressing your views, which is a net win for them, especially since it costs them nothing if they're wrong. They don't care about what you believe, they just want you to be quiet, because being quiet keeps their opposition isolated one from another. Divide and rule.

"Shame-ee" is just a convention in english for designating roles in an interaction. Y'know, like interviewer and interviewee? So in this case it's the "shameers" (the feminists) and the "shame-ees" (us guys.) I just put the hyphen in for visual clarity. Looks like that didn't work, lol! Yeah "incel" is the current fashion in shaming. But women are discovering that shame ain't what it used to be. Shaming someone relies on the shame-ee thinking that the good opinion of the shamer is something worth having. More and more, men no longer care.

Yeah, Huxley... TBH I've never seen an article which seriously asked why a school shooting etc. happened; the analysis always boiled down to "because (all) men are evil shits," though they often took 300 words to say it. This is because of the way that feminism thinks about human nature. If a woman does bad stuff, it's because bad stuff was done to her. But if a man does bad stuff it's because he's a bad person. For feminists, evil is inherently male. So the feminist controlled media aren't able to analyze this…

Tempting as this is, I'd say it's strategically unwise to tick someone off who has power over you. However, it's the OP who is on the front line here. It may be he reaches his limit, and needs to say something no matter the cost. Internalizing hate can cause enormous emotional damage. It can take a long time to heal, and sometimes never really does.

Sounds kinda evil to some people Well, one of the things TRP teaches is that "some people" don't have men's best interests at heart. Either they want to destabilize and control men to better facilitate their power-grab, or they don't care about men at all. Boys and men struggling, living unhappy lives, and even suiciding, and their reaction is "Meh. This affects me how?" Yeah, I appreciate that for them, having men chained hand and foot and forbidden to even defend themselves is a good deal, and…

Yeah, my sensei said that being short meant his center of gravity was lower than mine. It was something he could use to his advantage. And he did! But as I was saying to the OP, the biggest change was in my head, and how I thought about myself and other people. Sure, I got fitter, and I made a bunch of friends too, but it was so nice to be able to deal with confrontations without being all shaky and feeling upset for days afterwards. I suggest you look into taking up a martial art. You say that you have "small hands and a small body" but that doesn't mean that you're necessarily weak or helpless. My sensei (teacher) was a little guy just over five feet tall. He was a great guy: full of friendliness and confidence, and he helped me a lot. People are lazy. It takes much less effort to simply shut down a place where people espouse unpopular opinions than to actually construct counter arguments. So it's always going to be the case that those in power/ the mainstream are going to prefer the Big Stick to sweet reason. Not because they're "evil" but because they're people. For those that think it's possible to only ban "bigoted ideas" or "hate speech" etc., I suggest they read Animal Farm by George Orwell.

I am worried that this fear of using our voices for threat of repercussions, cancelling, abuse or any number of other negative outcomes, that not enough of a discussion will be able to be achieved to prevent further discrimination from happening and further normalisation of these thought patterns towards men amongst the public as a whole. Yeah, I've been using CBT too. One of the most useful things for me has been to start keeping a journal. That way instead of vaguely thinking "I've been feeling bad for a long time" I can look back and evaluate things more objectively. "Oh sure I was feeling bad last Tuesday after watching some dopey documentary but actually I've been mostly okay." I find it also helps because writing my thoughts and feelings down means they're then "out there" rather than "in here." YMMV, of course.

I'd say, "I may choose to help someone in need, or not." That's fine: it's my choice. What I object to about the "chivalric code" is that it's imposed on me without my consent. It dumps an obligation on me to act in a way that benefits women -- at potential risk to myself -- when said women are now reneging on the "social payment" for me taking on that risk. Other people judging me to be selfish is beside the point. That's just the old shaming tactic being used again. It's not only women who try…

Having read the thread, I think the one aspect that people aren't taking into account is that these are your sisters. You're going to be seeing a lot of them during the rest of your life, at least at family events. It was a sad day for me when I discovered that my funny, friendly, generous, generally likeable sister was also a sexist cunt, whom I couldn't talk to about what it feels like to be society's scapegoat because I'm a man. Dude, using the word "normal" is an own-goal. The strategy is to stick to the position that they've no business to stick their noses into the private life of their employees. I believe this to be the truth, anyway. An important part of living in a free society is having the right to privacy: from the government, from our employers, and from goddamn' nosey parkers down the street, too. Describing myself as "normal" implies that I am the pattern, and others who differ are "deviant." If I want the …

Yeah, good luck buddy. What bothers me is that with more and more men realizing that the current social mores are a no win situation for them, how many are going to decide that if they're going to be judged guilty anyway, they might as well be guilty? "Rape culture" as a self-fulfilling prophecy. I can imagine historians looking back on this period in a century or so, and saying: "It was a horrible time, sure. But without it we'd never have created the Patriarchy!"

When someone makes a misandrist remark under the cover of "joking" is when you borrow from feminist strategy. You give them the Great Stone Face and say "That's not funny." A lot of good points in your post, and in the replies in the thread. But you were worried about your son, and rightly too, I think. The best thing you can do for him is to consciously make time for him and his Dad to be private together. Encourage them to take up a hobby together or something, and then trust them. Gulping down gobbets of raw meat from a fresh-killed carcass while your butthole's pout-pout-pouting that a saber-tooth tiger is gonna happen on you any second is nature. Since then, we humans have improved on nature with knives, cookery, and goddamn' it, napkins. So "nature" is not a blanket answer. What MGTOW also does is ask: who's doing this judging? Do we agree that they're qualified to judge us? A quick survey of the selfish, neurotic, freeloading hags reeeee-ing us from all sides suggests…

Remember that it's feminists who've pushed the narrative that a Dad is only a squirt of man-juice and consequently the guy can be flushed from the family with no ill effects (well, provided they can still farm him for money, of course.) We of the MRM should push back on that. The view of feminists is, as usual, (vindictive) horseshit. Being a Dad is a lifetime of caring for another person. Giving them support, advice, shelter, second chances... As you can tell, I was darned lucky with my Dad. Yo…

When I said that, I wasn't speaking from a MGTOW lens. Fair enough. Though I'm increasingly surprised how much I see through the lens of the MRA these days. The Red Pill is a paradigm shift. I used to think the "you'll never win" thing, but what I meant was "women are unknowable and mysterious." (The blue pill interpretation.) Now "you'll never win" means "you'll never win if you don't fight. You're a second class citizen, sonny. This isn't a fight to get involved in in some half-assed fashion. …

I agree. There's nothing benevolent about any type of sexism. The whole point about sexism is that it's a form of prejudice, whereby the sexist makes unjustifiable assumptions about the other person based on their sex, rather than forming an opinion about them after properly making their acquaintance. There is no difference in principle between someone who makes malevolent assumptions: e.g. "You're a man therefore you must be a violent brute" or someone whose assumptions are intended to be compl…

There is a reason that the law courts traditionally operated the way that they did, viz: with the prosecution having to prove the accused was guilty. That's because innocence is impossible to prove. Historically, men had the male-only spaces necessary for men to bond without women interfering. One of the first things that feminism did was to either invade those spaces or outright shut them down. That's always dangerous, and it takes real courage. But to say "you can never ignore it", no. Everyone needs to be able to say "Hell with it, tonight I'm off duty." Otherwise you just burn out too fast.

The grind of supporting a family financially means that men end up working longer hours in jobs they hate, and the stress eventually kills them. Imagine being divorced, so that in order to make the payments ordered by a court you have to work longer hours in a job you hate that eventually kills you, for a family you're no longer allowed to see, visit or interact with. Still think you've got nothing to lose?

I no longer care what Feminists say, my response to offers of alliance is 1) Show me. 2) You show me first, then I'll think about it. 3) No, I'm not going to stay at the back of the fucking queue.

Man, I'm sorry. That's the trouble with trust: once it's busted, it's gone, and the relationship's never the same again. I have the same problem with one of my sibs: a really bad argument, bad acting out, silence for 2 years between us. We've since tried to make it up, and move on, but it's not the same. We can do weddings funerals and other family stuff ok, but there's no pleasure in it. If it had been a friend rather than family I would have just let it go.

A clever idea, and I think, all the better for not being immediately obvious. An essential part of the gay rights movement was gays becoming more obvious -- so that they, and everyone else could see that they weren't a vanishingly small minority. It both gave them the courage to take stands and make points and helped those points to be taken more seriously when they did so. Wearing a white feather (or image thereof) could be a neat way for us non serviam folks to recognize one another.

The problem is that as usual, feminism allows female "comediennes" to be lazy and still make a living. They use their own delusions (a.k.a. We've had the Simpsons pumping out the exact same anti-male "jokes" for forty years now. "Men are so stooooooopid." Yeah, stupid for putting up with your shit for so long. I'm done.

A lot of people here seem to be fixating on the fact that she was/is a single mom. Whether she has kids or not is irrelevant. The problem we guys have is that currently society and the legal process offers us no protection against craziness, malice, or simple selfishness if the perpetrator happens to be female. It's not a case of "don't stick your dick in crazy" it's more "don't sleep with alligators". Remember: if it floats, flies or fucks -- hire it.

The arrangement in recent industrial society was that women controlled the home, and men controlled the workplace. Modern feminism has led to women gaining more control in the workplace, but they have yet to relinquish any control in the home. So men becoming depressed after being forced to stay at home doesn't really indicate that "men are unsuited to staying at home" it simply shows that p…

Tate's Feminism is Sexism to you for a thorough and thought-provoking examination of how feminism works and what's going on in politics today. I found it clearly written and his arguments well laid out. Some quotes to give you the flavor of his writing: "It is crucial to understand that traditional sexism always victimised -both sexes because all of the gratiuitous privileging of women that feminism has…

I'm sorry this has happened to you, but I can't help admire the speed of your reaction and the clarity of your actions since. One thing that you mention but nobody else here comments on: you said that the conversations and lewd pictures were sent using her official company email? That may prove to be her most immediate problem. Many companies have a mandatory fire policy for employees caught using company facilities to transmit lewd or obscene images. Not to mention that behavior likely to bring…

Ironically, for a lot of claims in the past like a 'hard working' job like construction, most of them were found to have very little emotional labor invested; there is a legitimate trade off in physical and emotional labor in a lot of jobs. Gotcha. That makes a lot of sense, thanks. Another useful concept shat all over by self-indulgent, whining feminists.

For me, the true demonstration of "toxic masculinity" was the way that, a man saying he suffered distress was immediately defined as creating a problem for someone else. Victim blaming, IOW. I haven't heard about "emotional labor" before, and my immediate response is that women should grow up. Frankly, we men have had enough of women whining, complaining and blaming men. You've been once too often to that well, sisters. As far as the "correct" solution to the dilemma: the man has a choice, to as…

I believe you may have clicked on the wrong "reply" button. It was the OP who said that, not me. However, to answer your point (that all groups have their extremists) -- yes, true. However when an MRA speaks out saying something which I consider nonsense, harmfully disingenuous or whatever, then it is my duty as a fellow MRA to speak up and say why I believe them to be wrong. Feminists have demonstrably not followed this policy, preferring to demonstrate solidarity with one another, no matter ho…

I damn' well am afraid of sharks -- at least of species like the great white, which are swimming eating machines. (Basking sharks, for example, are harmless.) Fear is a healthy survival trait. But that doesn't mean that I have a phobia about sharks, because the definition of a phobia is that it's an unreasonable fear. That's what feminist apologists don't get about the men/women situation. Men don't have a phobia about dating single moms; we've looked at the situation and come to the rational de…

A shill is an undercover confederate. It comes from the shady business practices of snake-oil salesmen and the like. The salesman would come into town and set up his stall, and the shill would place himself somewhere in the crowd. The salesman would ask for a "random" member of the audience to volunteer to test the efficacy of whatever was being sold, and would, of course, pick the shill, who would then come up on stage and be "cured" of whatever malady he was faking. Okay, let's take this point by point... Look brother, I get that you have a lot of passion about this You're correct about that. but when men get passionate, most of the time it's interpreted as dangerous aggression. Men and women are alike in that they both adopt the strategy that will get a particular problem solved as efficiently as possible. Growing up, boys and men observe that if they are confronted by a problem, then making a fuss is a waste of effort. They will get little or no help or sympathy, and after expending all that energy in emotion, they will still have to fix the problem themselves. Thus for men, efficiency means concentrating on solving the task at hand. Women and girls observe that if th…

Firstly, don't speak for other people. Speak for yourself. Secondly, by female misbehavior, I meant misbehavior where the perpetrator is female. The gynocentric bias in our society means that misbehavior by men is reported, while misbehavior conducted by women is excused or outright ignored. (e.g. the misbehavior of Amber Heard.) MGTOW seeks to redress that bias. The notion that accurate reporting when applied to women's behavior necessarily indicates hostility is yet another feminist convenienc…

You know that statement "no man is an island"? Meaning that one way of defining a person is through their relationships with others. The MC realizes that in all his relationships he is being used. He takes steps to alter that. He's a married guy, and he has a daughter. So two of the relationships that are most important to him happen to be with women. Those are not the only relationships that he reconsiders, but I'm doing my best not to spoil the plot.

It's always the problem when a guy takes it, and takes it, and takes it... and then one day decides he's had enough. I'd put it this way: Rape is primarily about power. It is about forcing someone to do something they don't want to do, in a sexual context.* A rapist gets off on violating another person's bodily autonomy in a sexual manner. So exactly who's putting what where isn't the issue; it's only the means to the end, which is sexual domination without the other's consent. Now let's talk about rape. *I think we have to have "in a sexual context", otherwise the definition gets too broad to be useful. Yeah,…

UK resident here. My sister looked into fostering. She's happily married, with two sons now just finishing college. She told me that the application form was as thick as a novel; they want to know everything not only your finances, but your opinions and your family history; you're investigated for six months afterwards, and after that they basically have the right to walk into your home anytime they want and poke around. I can see that they want to protect the kids, (plus of course if anything d…

People do that. And we know it's shitty behavior: a sign of moral weakness and lack of principles. Feminists are (I think) unique in being the exception, because their ideology either blinds them to the fact that they are being inconsistent, or enables them to justify their inconsistency, I'm not sure which. But it means that feminists are able to behave in this inconsistent, selfish, shitty fashion whilst still managing to convince themselves that they have integrity. Of course, this conviction…

No, the reason was Brexit. True, the Labour Party did prove themselves unfit for government by demonstrating that they were unable to have a conversation with people who disagreed with them without calling them names. (They shouted down anyone who wanted any sort of control of people crossing borders as racist, for example.) But it was the presence of the Brexit party at the polls that gave such disaffected voters a place to go. The Brexit party didn't win a single seat, but by splitting the ant…

Well heck, that's hardly surprising. Look at Wikipedia's take on sexism... I think the second sentence on the page is especially cleverly worded: Sexism can affect anyone, but it primarily affects women and girls.[1] So they acknowledge that sexism can affect men & boys without ever actually naming us! Of course, from there on in, it's all typical feminist one-sided shit: Psychologists Mary Crawford and Rhoda Unger define sexism as a form of prejudice held by individuals that encompasses "negati…

It really ticks me off that feminists demand their views be respected. Respect is not an entitlement; respect has to be earned. And you earn respect for your argument by demonstrating that it is correct. As for rudeness: meet the fairy BeDoneByAsYouDid. (From the Water Babies by Charles Kingsley.)

When Mr. Holberton moved to Melbourne and began another relationship Lee targeted his new partner and included the woman's colleagues and mother in further emails. (emphasis added) There ya go. The article is careful not to say that she drove the guy to move, but it seems likely to me. If she hadn't foolishly widened her attacks to include the priviledged sex, she would likely have been able to continue without any hindrance.

My experience of people who introduce women-are-victims-too into a discussion is that it's a tactic used by feminists to derail the discussion, which then becomes either a discussion about how women are harmed by whatever the topic is, or why I don't care about women and am an evil patriarchal pig. In either case, men and their problems cease to be discussed. Feminists have spent a great deal of time saying that men, not having the lived experience of being a woman, cannot understand their point…

boys are kinda ignorant I believe that this ignorance is deliberately engendered and cultivated in boys. I think a large part of the hostility that Men's Rights group receive from Feminists is because speaking out and educating men about the situation is ruining their strategy! The first thing I noticed was the way the female OP airbrushed her own freedom to choose out of the picture by saying that women can't wear the same dress twice. It has always been so. And therefore must always continue to be so? There was a time when slavery "had always been so." Historical habit should not be regarded as a mandate for future conduct. anything that hurts/kills/depresses men is allowed and not talked about You hit the nail on the head there. This is why I think we men should stop making arguments about how "feminism hurts women too" and keep making the point that men have rights in and of themselves. I do understand it. When women complained about not being able to get a job, it was women from rich backgrounds with servants who were creating all the fuss. Ordinary working-class women knew damn' well what it was like to work, often having to take in laundry or doing piecework at home in order to supplement the piss-poor wages paid to the main breadwinner, the man. Feminist history has always been partial and revisionist. It's always much more effective to lie by telling only a carefully selec…

Absolutely. But that's not because the law says "only women can get alimony" it's because the courts * misuse their discretionary power to discriminate against men (because men "should" stand on their own feet etc.) * award custody to women in preference to men, because of their sexist belief that having a mother is more important than having a father, and the financial support is tied to the child/ren.

The problem is feminism. Feminists have argued that women presenting claims of being raped should not be vigorously cross-examined in court, because this adds to the trauma suffered by the rape victim. Feminists are correct that this process of cross-examination is unpleasant, even traumatic, but they ignore the fact that it is necessary. Legal professionals understand that eye-witness identification is very prone to error because human memory is not, as most people think, like a photograph or v…

It depends whether you are talking about theory or practice. For example, in theory men have just as much right to receive alimony from their ex-wives as wives have to receive to receive alimony from their ex-husbands. But in practice the wife is almost always awarded custody of the children, and the alimony payments are (or at least, are supposed to be) used to benefit the child - so the number of occasions where the man receives alimony from the woman are vanishingly small. It is entirely foreign to them. Feminism is a dualistic philosophy. (According to feminism) women are innately "better" than men: more civilised, more nurturing, more (oh, bah! You know their list.) This is where the whole notion of men "going out of their comfort zones" and "approaching other people's spaces for advice" in order to be uplifted/educated/improved comes from. Yeah. Some people, some of the time, if you're lucky. For others, it's too much tied up with their own self-identity. The mere suggestion that there might be alternative ways of viewing matters becomes too threatening, and they simply panic and shut down communication. There is no difference between secular and religious cults. The process of belief is the same. An important part of the process is removing them from the influence of that cult. That is not possible with feminism.

Glad to hear it buddy! To be fair, I think the book's at least 5 years old now, and I think that MGTOW and so on are much more widely known than they used to be. Well, I don't want to get into a back and forth on this. Laws vary in different parts of the world anyway. But in general if she's claiming to be a common law wife, then she gets legal aid for free, and the man doesn't. True, there's nothing to prevent a woman cleaner claiming sexual harassment -- which is why I'd hire a male cleaner. But in general we seem to differ in our willingness to accept risk. In today's legal climate it's sensible to play defensively. If you hire a person (either a man, or crucially, a woman) to do a task, then the law of contract limits your liability to them. No such contract law limits what a "girlfriend" can claim. If you let a woman move in, then sure: you're getting your place cleaned for free in the short term, but you risk her ending up owning half your shit (and lawyers owning a good chunk of the other half!) (Responding to a poster who conceived of some connection between feminists and Jews/bankers, and referred to the Nazis as "heroes." Maybe it was cowardly of me to block him, I dunno.) Unlike Gearhart and other Feminists, I am not a fan of genocide. Nor am I a fan of having other people in authority (whether that authority be left or right in its ideology) telling me how I "should" run my life. I'm particularly conscious that, should I have had the misfortune to live during the period of which yo…

The truth is they can't fuck any guy, because not all guys are interested. A woman rejecting a guy is obvious, and public: he asks, she says no. A guy rejecting a woman is private: he looks, thinks "I'd rather lick out a dumpster" and goes on his way.

Yes. That's because a woman getting into a relationship gets what she wants: that "Homes & Garden" lifestyle, and a step closer to being promoted to Motherhood. This, as Warren Farrell said is a woman's Primary Fantasy. When men go into a relationship they're giving up their primary fantasy: hot sex with every good looking woman who'll have them.* So women can't empathize with us because they haven't "walked a mile in our shoes." *This is not a snide cut at men. Our preference for multiple sexua…

Well, they believe they can. That's the essence of prejudice: feeling justified in making a decision based on insufficient evidence. It's like my mate, he's Jamaican. Born in Jamaica, grew up in Jamaica, both his parents Jamaican, immigrated to my country when he was 10 or so. Thing is, both his parents are white. You might like to look at the phenomenon of Japanese grass-eaters. Typically enough, any of the traits like looking after yourself, or deciding that you don't want to be a work mule, are viewed as "feminine" traits, (or even as "gay") when they're simply common sense. The mainstream media hasn't learned yet that the old tactic of shaming simply doesn't work on MGTOWs any more.

Some men go for the sciences. Some people do stupid shit. Some people are assholes. There are times when I look at the stuff MGTOW guys post and, well they prove that they're people. "me Me ME ME!!!" This is the reason they say that power corrupts. Power acts as a filtration system, so that the more powerful someone is, the less often they hear that they're wrong, or simply being an idiot, so their view of themselves becomes distorted, and they think they're the new messiah, or a strategic genius or whatever. Looks like "echo chambers" -- groups where membership is policed based on conformity of thought -- have the same effect. A sobering thought.

If you're going around handing out tickets to the ball game and vouchers for free beer, people will happily agree that the moon is square and Jesus was an aubergine. This is what feminism has done. It's bribed women with paid maternity leave, enhanced the pussy pass, and offers them (via affirmative action) the oppo…

"...you will almost certainly not be charged, let alone convicted." Notice the way the first (black rectangle) poster assumes that because he was accused, he did in fact do it. There is simply no acknowledgment of the fact that men who are entirely innocent get put through hell, let alone any suggestion that the self-centered little bitch who opened her lying mouth has even done anything wrong.

I believe in using rational restraint due to the strength difference, Yeah, the court that found a woman not guilty of beating her wheelchair-bound husband to death believed in it too. Rational restraint is no defense against irrational people. Self defence is a human right. If I choose not to exercise it, that's my choice. I'm extremely suspicious of people who try to add weaselly conditions to that, because experience has taught me that the system is not my friend, and that appeals to me to "b…

show your male friends they are wanted I think the problem is that that's exactly what men tend to do -- show they think well of someone by doing something, rather than verbalizing it. So the woman's complaining "he never says he loves me" and he's thinking "I've spent the weekend concreting the foundations for that patio you wanted, you think I'd do that for just anyone?" The trouble is that this "asking for consent" thing doesn't deal with the real world of communication, which is both verbal and non-verbal. Non-verbal communication is simply invisible to the courts. There's a reason it's called the age of consent. Any person, male or female, intoxicated or not, who is below the age of consent for that jurisdiction cannot give legal consent to sex. That means that as far as the court is concerned, that consent did not happen, regardless of what happened IRL or who initiated what. There are some jurisdictions where there is a general age of consent -- after passing it, you can agree to sex whom you like however you like -- and also a lower age where sex is OK…

The law typically applies after an act has been committed. There are cases where preventative steps are taken, but it applies after the fact. It does not take preventative steps in most cases. Nor should it. Two general ones. Therapeutic spaces need to be safe, for patients to express themselves without fear of censure. Often the clinician will intervene to shut down ad hominem attacks for example. It's the apex fallacy again. Feminists are forever complaining that historically men had it so much better; and to prove it they contrast the lot of ordinary women, who had little control over their lives, with the tiny minority of men who were lords of Wherever and could do pretty much whatever they liked. Here we have the same fallacy used in a different situation. Men complaining that women have all the power when it comes to dating and being constantly showered with offers. But it's the Chee…

Women in general have a stronger aversion to dirt than men do. This is an evolved response because women are responsible for the kids when they're at that crawling around the carpet (or cave) and sticking everything in their mouths stage. So dirty home = sick kids, or worse. There's even a specific insult to shame a woman for this: she's a slattern. If sex is seen as "dirty" (and I don't think anyone would deny that it's messy) then this dirt-aversion business gets imported too. So (some) women …

That's because a man is expected to show emotional continence. When something happens, he's expected to put his emotions on hold, and deal with the situation rationally. So men who show emotions are viewed as "not someone I'd want in my corner when the chips are down." Boys and young male teens get some leeway -- they're viewed as immature, and encouraged to do better next time (i.e. "grow up.") This is why men also get a shitty deal in court, with reporters typically making remarks like "[The p…

That's why no women are punished. "Personally I think we should take our cues from rights movements that we think are more ethical than radical feminism. The most famous civil rights leaders -like MLK Jr- didn't fight back with hate but still achieved great things." Well, when you're up there on the platform speaking to thousands after the Men's March on Washington, I'll be in the crowd applauding. "We're playing into the feminist stereotype of men as angry and possessive of patriarchial privilege when we meet rage with rage." Y…

Well, when women start going on TV and saying how awesome men are, and demonstrate that they care about men being homeless, the male suicide rate and so forth, then they will deserve to be met with like consideration. Meanwhile, I've had enough of smiling like a chump while they tear me a new one.

"because ngl I did glow up" ngl? Sorry, don't get the reference. Otherwise: thank god. Halfway through your post I thought you were posting here to ask if you should date her. And with sinking hearts we would have said "Hell NO, man, she's flying more red flags than a Red Square parade!" knowing that guys that make that sort of post are, shall we say, unusually prone to optimism. Glad you saw through her.

And your solution is what? To "suck it up"? To "play nice"? The evidence so far suggests that doesn't work with feminists. They just demand more and more and more, in ever shriller tones. Naturally, of course, I prefer to spend my time with decent, sensible people. Unfortunately some feminists are neither. When I'm getting dumped on, I'm gonna dump right back. It's not pleasant and it's not fun, but it's necessary.

I disagree. We men have been trained to sit still and be good little boys while feminists pour an avalanche of shit over us. We need to re-train ourselves; we need not only to believe that we are worth defending, we need to demonstrate that belief. When someone's spitting hate at you, don't think it has no effect. When someone's putting on that fake friendliness and cooing that "patriarchy hurts men too" don't think it's having no effect. At the moment, feminists believe (rightly) that they can …

Well good on you mate, for opening your mouth and saying something instead of suffering in silence, like we've been doing for too long. Of course the Feminists (of both genders and none) and their trained attack poodles are going to try and shut you down. Look at it this way: them trying to shut you down means they heard you. p.s. It's not for me to say what you find hurtful, but personally I don't hold with "toxic masculinity" because it's a crock. In order to consider it to be valid, I'd have …

I think that's a really good idea. There's nothing so useful as having a snappy retort to keep them from either tag-teaming you or diverting the discussion onto some other topic. It also helps if you're able to name the rhetorical trick they're trying on you.

There was a little javascript tool that would scoot through a webpage and replace all the instances of "man/men" with "jew/jews." It was sickening how familiar some of the feminist quotes looked. Almost instantly banned, of course.

Agreed. Online activism is stage one. Men have been systematically denied meat-space meeting places where they could/can discuss the matter. I don't doubt that in due course we'll have to go on marches and lobby politicians and disrupt the orderly working of the world, but it takes time.

It's always a good bet that whatever someone complains about in other people is what they are truly like inside. So if she complains that her boyfriend is manipulative and controlling, she's first of all sensitized to notice those things because that's the way she herself thinks, and (our brains being the pattern producing machines that they are,) she then goes on to confirm those suspicions by selectively interpreting all he says and does to support her original belief. This is known as "confir…

People who talk about this being the result of "western" society fail to appreciate that these biases are the result of our evolution. Evolution works over very long timescales. Never mind the Industrial Revolution and the Pill, our biology has barely noticed that we've domesticated cattle! (Humans are able to produce the enzymes that digest milk no matter their age. Other mammals lose the ability once weaned.) So as far as our instincts are concerned, i.e. what "feels right" and we agree to, an…

Personally, I don't think they "square" anything. Feminists seem perfectly happy to be inconsistent, because the theory of feminism is really only window-dressing for unscrupulous women grabbing a bigger slice of the pie. They don't ask if it's contradictory or even sensible, their only interest is "Can I leverage this?"

Agreed. I've always found it amusing that women claim they have this magical power that lets them know our experience (and dictate it to us) while being affronted if we even suggest that we mere despised penis-bearers could ever imagine what it's like to be a woman. (I'll admit the amusement has grown more bitter over the years.) Thankfully we now have the technology (the internet) which prevents them simply SHOUTING US DOWN as they have 'til now. Of course they're busily trying to gain control …

An interesting piece, thanks for sharing. I find it's far more useful these days to analyze social systems in terms of whether they're authoritarian or egalitarian, rather than left-wing or right-wing. You say that "In most Tyrannies of the past, Censorship was an indispensable part of the Social Order." I'd say that censorship is part of the current social order too. A case in point would be the banning of Karen Straughan from Twitter: by doing so Twitter are suppressing her voice, and attempti…

If you're old enough to legally work, I'd look for better paid work so you can have more independance. As for the sex comments making you uncomfortable, sure if you call her out she'll likely laugh, but that's not a reason for not doing it. Attitudes aren't going to change all at once; we're talking about water drips wearing down a stone, here. Good reasons for not doing it are: (1) you don't choose to. Feminists are hypocrites, but they're not inconsistent. They consistently adopt the position that will maximize their advantages and opportunities, or disadvantage men. (Often those two are the same. When it comes to jobs or the public spending pie, "More Me" = "Less You".) So they want to be able to do all the things that men can do, with none of the obligations that men are subject to, while keeping men locked into the traditional gender roles that service and benefit women. Feminism is a Mani…

I believe the first tactic we should adopt is the one that worked so well for early feminists: "That's not funny." By refusing to recognize that whatever snippy anti-male remark was just made as a joke, you shut the trapdoor that allows them to dissociate from the consequences of what they just said. It will mean that others in the group will grumble about you being a killjoy, but that's useful training. Most people simply want a quiet life (until the ceiling falls on them and the ask "why me?")…

I'd also recommend Karen Straughan, a.k.a. girlwriteswhat on Utube. Very clear and analytical explanations of political positions and feminist arguments, but not at all dry or preachy. Good at providing the sources too, so you can check she's not massaging the statistics or cherrypicking, or, frankly, indulging in any of the shady practices that (some) feminists are prone to using.

You'd be surprised how effective making "commonsense" remarks like "that doesn't seem very fair" or "I don't think men-are-stupid jokes are very funny" are. Misandry has become so prevalent in our society that many people have got to the point where they simply don't see or hear it. By all means simply shrug after that and say you don't want an argument (especially if you're at work); your remark will already have done its work.

That's how it is with any art. You create something which has a particular meaning or association for you, and then other people come along and see completely different things to what you were thinking of or intended. Everyone sees the world through the lens of their own preoccupations.

Caveat: I didn't watch this all the way through. The reason I bailed is because the presenter doesn't give any sources. He should at the very least mention the sources from which he's deriving his statements, and ideally put the reference onscreen. He should quote from those sources rather than simply paraphrasing. Vague assertions that such-and-such happens (even when widely believed to be true) have no value in debate. Consequently I'm downvoting this, and urge you to do the same. It's a waste…

The point we need to make to the ordinary feminist-in-the-street is that if she can't be bothered to stand up to the loony extremist feminists and say "Not in my name" or similar, then she must expect feminism to be judged by its extremist members, and consequently NAFALT (Not All Feminists Are Like That) is not an adequate response to criticisms of feminism.

Don't allow the society to tell us how men and women should behaviour. You should be the one making decision as to what to do, what to wear, how to wear it. At one level, simply because headlines including the phrase "women and children" sell more newspapers, get more viewers, get more clicks. More (whatever) = more $$$. At a deeper level, it's because of our psychology, and the different expectations we have of men, women, and children. We are a group-social species. Altruism is wired into our genes. We're motivated to help save other people because in doing so we help those genes to survive, promoting human genetic diversity. At the same time, we'…

Standard disclaimer: I am not a lawyer. It seems clear to me that you're a customer at this bar, but I'm not clear on whether this woman is employed there, or is a customer. The issue is not whether you're "into" her or not, the issue is that you have a right not to be touched without your consent. So your gripe is that this policy had ultimately a detrimental affect on women? If the men had all been good little sheeple and either starved or begged from the women, then the policy would've been OK? Let's be clear: that policy was not OK because (assuming the intention was to make sure children got rice) it made the unjustifiable assumption that no men were caring for children. That policy was not OK because it made the assumption that men with no dependents were disposable.

Hadn't seen the ad. before. Do we actually now need to teach advertisers "Don't bite the hand that feeds you?" Looks like it. Sheesh. So if it was a kid gave me the razor for a present, it would be a good time to show them the ad., sit them down and explain how slanted the media is these days. I recall when I lived in a shared house, one time we had a vacancy and had advertised for a replacement. The doorbell rang. I got up, shrugged into my robe and stumbled down to answer it. Agreed, the driving force behind rape has never been political power. But it is about power: about dominating someone else. You said it yourself, it's about bullying, sexual bullying. Bullying is about picking fights that bully is confident of winning, because winning a fight (whether physical or psychological) causes a lot of feelgood hormones (chemicals) to go squirting round the bully's system. The bully gets a high. And the thing about highs is that old problem of habituation -- the need for…
