Don't fall for the sunk cost fallacy. The time you have spent on this guy is already far too much than he deserves. Cut your losses and run now. He has shown he cannot even support you in this time of need and it sounds a lot like you started with a trauma bond. Just because someone helped you when you are upset once doesn't mean they are the one for you. I think you are unhappy because of many things, not just because of this person and you need to work on your other things. Can you find a prof…

Pickemes are just unbelievable. Like girl, just because you are okay with dating a public toilet doesn't mean we all are. 😑 What "narrative" it's a fully reasonable feeling! God.

Same! I remember telling a friend about my past bad experiences with men and her response was "why are you so unlucky to meet so many bad men." She also turned out to be a completely pickmeisha friend who was chasing random online guys on discord even after they rejected her. I had to stop talking to her because it was just so draining. It's literally that the amount of trash men are everywhere. It's not being unlucky, they're everywhere.

This is what I do... to my mum when I was a teenager and had no clue what brands to buy. Not a full ass grown man. And even then I didn't spam the calls, I just took photos of the brands and sent it and waited for her reply. He's doing it intentionally to make her annoyed so in future she won't ask him to do it again.

He works in a bar and doesn't go for therapy for his depression but wants to keep a kid? How would he be in any way fit for being a father? I don't see him being able to juggle his job and his kid. Good that you're leaving him. I hope everything goes well and you are safe. Be careful.

There is no next year and honestly receiving nothing would have been better than that pile of artificial garbage. Also what kind of grown man sends cookies to their date as a bday gift and expects her to be grateful? That is something my boyfriend when I was 14 and broke, not a whole ass grown man. And his response too. Phew, the trash takes itself out! He exposed himself so early as thoughtless and expecting so much for the bare minimum. He was sending that to test your boundaries, you said he …

They know but they're too convinced this is the only life they can have. T It hurts to break away and be a single mother and see how ugly everything it, they'd rather stick in their delusions and be "happy." And in the process drag everyone around with them into their misery.

The lack of self-awareness is honestly staggering. "I had some unresolved issues" but it's all because of the sex toys, not the I don't know, UNRESOLVED ISSUES that "took his woman from him"???? 😭😭😭 Thank God she left him.

What did I just read? Imagine being a stay at home mother and still having to pay the bills like what? At this point you might as well just take your baby and go be a single mother. What value does the man add?

From my experience I thought the same that maybe he was just insecure about his height, but all the short guys I've ever been with are atrocious. They have some weird resentment about their height and would always complain. I think it's okay to be insecure about some things but not to the point of lying and being dishonest about it just to get a match. I'm insecure about my weight since my bmi is like 25 while the recommended is 20, but I'd never lie about my weight just to get a match.

I used to be upset too, but nowadays that sometimes they have to learn and experience for themselves the consequences of their actions (as long as it's safe of course). I have friends who keep online dating a guy who lives in several countries away, and they're all LVM. I find it so weird they don't look for a guy in their own country, and these men all end up being trashy anyways. They end up breaking up and telling me I'm right, and then moving onto the next guy online who flirts with them a l…

You should read the FDS handbook. This entire paragraph is obvious that you skinmed it. Everything you said was answered in there and honestly big yikes at you defending pickmeishas when literally pickme women have been known to step on other women just to please a man and in some cases even get other women harrassed, raped, kidnapped or murdered.

There are countless of stories you can find on this sub and even on the internet about women who have financially supported their boyfriend or husband and have gotten burnt because they were gold diggers. It's not counter productive at all and it's a very real thing. Just because it hasn't happened to you doesn't mean you should label it "counterproductive." It's important to educate women on financial stability and looking out for pitfalls and scams is one of them.

I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt that maybe her sleezebag of a boyfriend was the one who saw it and blocked you immediately, but honestly? There are so many girls who would rather stick their head in the sand and see their true colours rather than listen. You did what you could, let karma handle the rest.

Wait he took you for drinks on a first date, had sex with you while you were drunk, and he asked you to come over at 1:30am the next time? Uh... I don't think he's a HVM or even looking for a relationship with you... I think it's a fwb relationship... I would say to cool off for a day or two because honestly your body would produce a lot of feel good endorphins when kissing or having sex, you might want to wait a while to see if you really like him or it's just that.

I can think of a few good examples, but I don't know how strong they are. The first is maybe Lizzo's song Juice. Apart from the double entendre, it's also a song about how she believes in herself and that she has everything she needs to be successful. And her in the music video has her in what looks to be a negligee and work-out clothes and it doesn't feel like she wore it just to be sexy or for the male gaze, but rather it was the appropriate for the scene (talking with her man, working out wit…

I really agree! A lot of her earlier songs were focused on like the experience of a young girl in love, and I remember people kept complaining that all she ever wrote about was songs about guys, but she had a lot of songs that were relatable to young girls, for example "Mean." I really loved listening to her songs because it felt made for girls by girls. Rather than some songs nowadays obviously made for men by women. Nothing wrong about catering to different demographics, but things aimed at wo…

How many guys did you go through before you met your bf? I feel like it's so draining. I honestly think the good ones on OLD get snapped up fast it's like hoping you find a needle in the haystack at the right time the needle drops into it.

I have never been popular in real life due to being the "weird kid" in school and I went on OLD with a half-filled profile and a blurry picture of my masked face in a mirror and my likes hit the 99+ in an hour. All low effort profiles too and many scammy/catfish profiles. I deleted the app after two days and never looked back. It is indeed a cesspool.

Carrying a conversation is so simple. You literally listen to what the person says, say something in return that is related, and they say something that is related to what you said. If a man can't do that without you continuously pushing it along or they're giving very dry answers, exactly right as you said, just drop them. If they won't even listen to you for the small things they won't listen when you have important or big things. And they pull the "I hate small talk" or "I'm introverted" or "…

I feel like we went really backwards as a society. Like at first it was "premarital sex is bad and you're a whore if you do it" to "casual sex is so fun and you should do it if not you're a prude." Like, I'm pretty sure the first one stemmed from misogynistic cultures where ""honor"" killing and slut-shaming was prevalent in their society. But somehow men are now twisting the narrative and now if you don't put out you're apparently harming them and somehow are the cause of incels. Like, women ju…

I'm so happy this story had a happy ending. I hope you friend who intro-ed the two of you is blessed in her own relationships too! I really liked your analogy with the deck of cards, you're right that you have to focus on what you're doing til The One comes along, the perfect card for your combo, the person who will really love you and value you.

Okay but why did I think of this perfect reaction image when you said this? 😂😂 So true though, at least cultivating a garden gives you satisfaction and the joy of watching something grow under your own care.

I agree with the journalling/paragraph advices! Thank you so much on this. I really enjoy the strategy posts here! One thing I used to do was send people angry rants on how they hurt me. I realized they it didn't help them as they wouldn't change or apologize, it just told them what to avoid doing in future or become more sneaky. But I still needed an outlet to express myself, so instead of sending it to them, what I did was write the paragraphs but in a chat to myself or a text document. I woul…

Very well said! I was just thinking about this youtuber Safiya and Tyler's wedding video and how watching their wedding video made me tear up but in a good way. They did so many things together like even planning the decorations, choreographing a dance together and on the day of the wedding itself they were stuck with each other and literally with each other up to the walk in. Even their wedding dress and attire were all choreographed with each other. They really were in love with each other and…

They said it in an announcement a while back but basically they had a huge backlog of posts which they had to check through and moderate, so they would close for the first few days of each month to go through that backlog.

I definitely believe this is true! Some people are good at telling when people are hiding things, and also WHERE they are hiding. There are some tell-tale signs and micro-expressions and the fact they are more cautious around that area in general if they are hiding something. You definitely have a good intuition and picked up on that!

My parents both worked full time and instead let a maid (changing throughout the years) take care of me. Guess who has childhood trauma from emotional neglect now 😂 Men really underestimate how difficult it is to take care of kids, they're tiny human beings and can easily hurt themselves. When I was young I put my hand on a hot iron just to see what will happen and I stapled my own finger to see what will happen. If I had no one supervising I probably would have ended up with nasty scars. You re…

The first thing which stands out to me is how did you know he had a vasectomy? Did he show you his medical records or did he just tell you he has one? I think you need solid proper proof and even then those can be faked if he sends you a photo. It is a bit weird he is vague if he wants kids or not -- is he unsure if you wanted kids and didn't want to tell you about the vasectomy in case you wanted or is he lying about the vasectomy? It's a bit hard to tell and I think you have to be careful ther…

I feel the same way! For me what helped was I got a job in my field but it's a newbie/trainee job rather than a parttime fnb job which had nothing to do with it. There were lots of experienced people and the seniors were nice and actually gave me some career advice. But not every job has nice people. You can also visit a career counselor if your school has one, they might be able to give some insight. The one advice which really stood out was a woman who has a PhD and she is 45 but she is head o…

You can actually ignore flairs on reddit, you have to add it to your filter. There is a guide here on how to do it: https://www.reddit.com/r/modhelp/comments/czx9so/filtering_by_flair_a_guide_for_desktop_old_and/ Personally I think it's a very relevant tag and I wasn't aware of how crazy some men were, as someone who came from a more moderate country. I really do not want it to be removed but I definitely understand wanting to not see it. Reddit should really make it easier to do things like ign…
