I agree with everybody else that you come off as a rather anxious person and wanting to be in control all the time. That being said, a lot of good advice has already been given. I believe you have a rather pessimistic, fear-ridden view of the situation and wanted to comment on some of the good signs, because let's not forget those! He was also talking to another girl during our break but he told her that he's back with me now He didn't have to take you back and he didn't have to stop talking to …

How much time do you spend on the internet in general and RPW specifically, what do you use this wonderful invention for and how does it affect your RP life? Edit: words, words

So happy this thread exists! I'm trying to embrace my feminine nature and there's definitely, always room for improvement. My SO and I are moving in together soon and I've been really busy with my internship this week. I haven't had much time for reflection, while it is much needed SO has called me out on being too negative on something that really didn't matter. An alternative would've been to practice an attitude of gratitude instead of nagging to my SO. I should also meet up with some friends…

If you can't bring yourself to wear dresses and skirts, replace what you usually wear - jeans and t-shirts, in your case - with a more feminine version of it. This can be a matter of texture, colour or other details. (E.g. what works for me is a dress shirt with a cardigan and well fitted pants.) This might be a solution to your problem, because you can keep on wearing the same kind of clothes, they will be equally covering and won't make you feel too silly. But then again: are there any specifi…

First of all, I think an essential aspect of looking good is to make sure your skin looks at its best (taking into account genetics or other limits), by eating well, exercising and simply general skin care. You can look glowing already! Second, I personally use make-up to accentuate certain of my better features. E.g. a little lipstick if you have nicely shaped lips, a little blush if you have lovely cheekbones, etc. So my philosophy would be to focus on enhancing your best features without over…

I do not feel compelled to share any details of that relationship, as I am happy in my current relationship and do not want to linger in the past. I don't want to share the full story but believe me when I say I dated an abusive jerk. Anyway, this doesn't pertain to the topic anymore

Your description is very recognizable. I am glad you can still see things from a more objective perspective and aren't internalizing what he is accusing you of. I really am having a hard time getting perspective on this without people around to see what's going on. If this frequently crosses your mind, I think you should definitely reach out. Now, I'd say that the posters above do have a point and I might be projecting too much. I am not saying your relationship is identical to my past abusive L…

There is nothing wrong with being his secretary, if he is open to that. Depending on your relationship it might be ok for you to just start filing his stuff when he leaves it out, or you might want to ask first You are indeed stressing important points: he has to be open to you being his secretary you should definitely ask him first I am not sure if OP is looking for a similar solution, but I can say that my SO was noticeably less tense when I helped him plan his move. Moreover, relieving tensio…

It isn't the sort of partnership I want, but at the same time, we do make a really great team in all other aspects. I used to believe this too when I was looking at a (now ex-)LTR so I fully empathize but you wouldn't have posted here if it wasn't a big deal. That being said, I also agree with LifterofThings on the sink-or-swim approach. Give up control and see what happens, make sure to praise him whenever he takes up responsibility. Try not to become angry at him; negativity never leads to any…

In general, I have two courses of action: (1) I try to look objectively at the situation they are gossiping about from my (often) outsider point of view. I don't become overly emotional or too empathic about the situation but I analyze it out loud without making any judgements and leave it to the other person/people what to make of it. Frankly, I cannot relate to gossip, find nothing exciting about it and it's quite easy for me to not get carried away. (2) I keep silent when I notice they feel s…

First of all, I really liked reading your article. It made me reflect on my role as a supportive girlfriend to my SO. Thank you for that. I would like to add my experience to this. I am still studying while my SO works full-time and on days when I see him (often after his work) he has so many anekdotes to tell. And whether it is about this colleague of him that he doesn't particularly like or a new project he's been working on, I always try to listen to him very carefully, hear him out and add a…

I've never been in a relationship and I feel that that looms over my head all day everyday. I don't think it is wise to indulge in these feelings of negativity. I would agree with cats_or_get_out about 'vibe'. Try to find what makes you vibrate with positive energy! Search for what makes you happy: work out, meet up with RP friends, etc. Every day is a new chance to become a better you :-) Good luck! (Although luck has little to do with it. You should act and work on creating a positive attitude…
