You are speaking in absolutes, there is a significant amount of women who are the breadwinners of their families regardless of it not being the norm. This is not an excuse by any means for him to refuse to meet his potential.

You come off as too rehearsed and robotic. Instead of just running up to someone wait until you are in a situation where u are next to them say in a line or on a bus. Allow for natural flow/progression of a conversation; Starting off with a compliment or the like. Many ppl don’t like being asked what is their ethnicity as an opener it can b off putting. Good luck
