It sounds to me like the stripper informed him that it would be $100 pretty early into the VIP room session. Might fall into the grace period, lol. They also might have noticed his friends spending wads of cash and not wanted to risk all of them leaving just to get this guy out of there.

In my experience the cash is asked for after the fact. You'd think it would be the other way around, but asking for it at the end allows them to rack up the bill by asking "do you want another?" at the end of each song.

Okay, this is the point I'm pretty sure this is bullshit. They would have kicked you out at this point, if not straight up kicked your ass for touching the dancer. FWIW, it sounds like she took him to the "VIP" room where most clubs will allow at least light touching (even if not legal).

Apparently it's $20,000 open and not yet shut...

In his decision, Worcester County Probate Judge Ronald King noted that Carol Niro reared the children largely by herself I'm not advocating different standards for men or women. I agree that alimony is not meant for childcare, but it could be argued that it is meant to make up for lost opportunity due to having to raise the children. Obviously it would have to be on a case by case basis, but I could definitely see some situations where I would think this argument is valid.

I did not mean to harp on one sex or the other; my posts talked about absentee fathers because that is what the article was about. An absentee mother is just as bad. It probably just comes down to the fact that I have zero respect for parents (of either gender) that are absent from their children's lives. This of course would not include things like military deployment, truck drivers, traveling business men, etc. in most cases.

I would agree in a childless marriage. I think it gets fuzzier when children are thrown in, especially of the man is an absentee father (even if he throws money at the situation). It may be just 5 years of marriage, but it could be 20 years of parenting, and thus 20 years of having a large obstacle to career advancement.

Throwing money at kids and actually being a father are two different things. Alimony and child support may not have initially been enough to cover the cost of day care, and that is assuming that day care is a good option for children. Additionally, I don't care how much day care you pay for, being the parent that is actually the only one there and taking care of the kids takes much more effort, time, energy, etc. than throwing money at them. Again, I'm not saying that's the case in this article,…

To me, it really depends how much of an absentee father this man was. If he forced his wife into a position where she cared for the children for 20+ years, regardless of how much he provided financially, then he made the bed he is sleeping in. Too bad the article doesn't give enough detail on that.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
