I'm also quite curious. Would love to see the data!

Right-wing pseudoscience? Lol... One wonders where you get your sources. In regards to the surgeon job specification, it very much depends on which kind of surgical procedures one specialises in. Some of the surgical specialities require way more people contact than others. Nevertheless it is true that in the Western world, the majority of medical students are woman and have been the last 20ish years.

No need to figure out logic if you love the conclusion. You can always ad hoc rationalise the premises afterwards, and without further thought, support those premises. Throw in the no true scotsmans fallacy and you can rationalise almost anything.

The real disappointment here is the choice from Cambridge. I'm all for the notion that personal political views should not be a deal breaker when a university is hiring a new professor. But this woman is spreading a message of hate against people with a certain skin color, which they did not chose. That's a huge difference from criticising a political ideology. The current political zeitgeist is just a giant pendulum swing in the opposite direction from the 40s and 50s.

Just curious, if you buy a cessna, can you take off and land on your private property, or do you have to go through an official airport? (don't know which country you are from)

No not really. But Bird, Barkley and Malone. Duncan had the longest career sure, but when talking about the impact they had when they played, I would take those three above Duncan if a championship was on the line.

Top 3 PF to ever play? That's a brave statement. Don't get me wrong, I love the big fundamental and he's a deserving Hall of famer. He even aged gracefully in the nba and was still very productive up until he retired. But top 3 ever? Bird, Barkley, Kemp, the mail man, Gasol, the big ticket? Edit: not saying all I mentioned should be above Duncan. But at least Barkley, Bird and Karl (even though he's a douche IRL).

I'm not sure I entirely agree. PC principle has matured a bit the latest season. Especially when confronted by newly gender transitioned macho man randy savage, where he ended up punching him. Even though he was worried that the pc babies would only see the negative symbolism in the act (just like IRL pc babies), they actually understood the nuance, and diverged a bit from the appealing hard core ideological standpoint. So yes, he had been portrayed less negatively, but I see that as a consequen…

Well, if you have no one in your social circle to have well meaning, good faith, intellectual honest discussions with. How else are you going to practice them without the Internet? The alternative is just not pressure testing your premises and conclusions. That's how you end up in ecco chamber and thought silos.

Thats not my interpretation. Most draw the line with lesser intimacy (being hugging, spending time with alone, kissing ect.). However, when you add up the procentages it doesn't equal 100%, which is strange? But I'm not curious enough to go searching for the primary source, which is probably in Japanese...

Is "sparsely" in this context to be understood as a negative? Isn't it a correct term analogous to fx "minimalist", in a simularly neutral tone? Or am I reading it wrong?

Also, just to add fuel to the fire, consider this: when news like this gets out alongside the #metoo movement, men will proposition and talk to women less, which will lead to reduced social interaction and thereby less practice for young men, when it comes to speaking to women. Which further leads to even more awkward and alcohol induced flirting and even less charitable interpretations from receivers of proposition. Even Chad's are in serious danger in the future.

My thoughts exactly. Well said brother! General distrust is something that can inherent everyone. But going from distrust to insinuating blame and or malevolence is a whole new level of bad faith and spitefulness. Even if that was the case, she could have chosen so many other options to refusing the drink politely.

To someone who is not a steelworker. Can you ELI5 about what your job requires and what you do during a regular day at work? Just curious 😊

Wait... If I understand the infographic correct, the "LHS stress" is a test of CP stress during work and not psychological stress. So a an indicator of which level of physical stress the job requires? Not sure if I misinterpreted the results... If someone could clarify it would be appreciated.

Can you elaborate a little bit? Being from Scandinavia, I see it the other way around and my general impression is that it's worse in the US? But maybe I'm wrong... Fortunately the whole of Europe isn't like evergreen state uni.

I really can't see any problem with this. She can chose to wear what she wants, but obviously she can't decide how other people judge her, following her wardrobe choice. As long as she doesn't break the law, she should be free to choose.

Your conclusion might be right, but it's pretty bold to insinuate that your hypothesis is backed up statistically, based on a subjective analysis of review comments.

Dude. Don't give up. The first job is always the hardest to get. Once you get the first, the second becomes much easier. I can understand your frustration though. Please seek medical help. Us guys aren't the best at seeking help when we need it, even though it could save our lives. I've been where you are now. Believe me when I say it's a temporary condition, even though it feels eternal and like a no win situation. Seek medical help, please! And take it one day at a time. Read philosophy (helpe…

Well... You could argue that the mechanics of the electron transport chain in the mitochondria does include quantum electro dynamics. Of course that doesn't mean that you have to understand the complexities of quantum electro dynamics to understand how oxidative phosphorylation works.

But I'm guessing they have to argue that this has been going on for a while? Since those activities are included in babysitting?

Can you elaborate on this? What would constitute a strong argument for a male who is not the father but engaging in a "fatherly role"?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
