I think it’s largely true, but not an absolute state of always being unfavorable.

Uh, by the same people who would class kindness, emotional availability, ability to love, and nurture as feminine qualities. The very claim that those are feminine qualities implies that they’re non-masculine and thereby not expected, de facto traits of masculine people.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/25 05:53 PM
8

Yes, but it’s more that women are expected to maintain those traits / behave in this way as part of being “ladylike” or feminine. Men are often excused from maintaining those skills.

Well. Yes and no. Sex is an important part of a relationship (most of the time, I know that there are asexual people out there who are still interested in romantic relationships), but there are times when it can definitely be put on the back burner when all the intricacies of life come into play. Like I had a baby last April and our sex life is only now getting the opportunity to even begin recovering. Despite that though, my husband and I still have maintained emotional intimacy. I can only spe…

I’ve not ever seen anyone say that sex is the least important part of a relationship and to just get with someone you’re not attracted to…? I agree that it’s not the most important factor, but I’ve not seen this “well who cares about sexual intimacy anyway” thing.

Sure. I’m just not sure how that figures in with what my comment said.

Except the majority of people don’t fall neatly into categories of “good” or “bad”

Everyone I’ve ever dated has been morally decent. That doesn’t mean that the relationship was good or even healthy between us. You and a few others in the thread seem to be confusing “his small quirks ultimately drove me crazy and he didn’t express affection the same way I do,” with “he physically hurt me, insulted me, and was unfaithful.” Not to say that there aren’t plenty of people in the latter category. But as a rule, most relationships end because of small things building up over time, thi…

There’s a difference between someone ultimately being incompatible with you and being a bad person. Most relationships end over petty grievances that turn into looming resentments. That doesn’t mean that anyone chose a bad person or only focused on external factors.

Whatever Andrew Tate told him it’s about. When your only information about feminism comes from anti-feminist podcasters, you’re trained to discount and deny actual feminist rhetoric.

Your argument is hard to follow, mostly because your grammar makes it nearly impossible to tell what you’re actually trying to say. But from what I can decipher, you’re claiming that insecurity about one’s past is a reliable way to “vet” people, while also insisting that the most desirable women wouldn’t be offended by being interrogated about theirs. So which is it? Is insecurity a red flag, or is demanding someone’s sexual history just standard procedure? Because if your “vetting process” invo…

Interesting. So, in your experience, men are capable of growth and self-improvement, but women are permanently defined by their past struggles? That’s a bold take. Almost like personal development is being assessed selectively based on gender rather than actual human capacity for change.

Nowhere in her post did OP make any of these claims.

I think part of the issue is he keeps using an inaccurate word (“insure”) and I genuinely don’t know if he means “insecure” or “unsure.”

You keep claiming you’re “just describing things,” but your entire argument is framed around women making themselves unmarriageable while men are merely reacting. If this is just a neutral observation, why does every explanation circle back to women needing to change their behavior? Also, if a “moderate conservative shift” is the answer, what does that actually look like in practice? Are you suggesting policy changes, cultural shame, legal incentives? Or is this just another vague call for socie…

So just to clarify: You’re saying men’s drive for success was always about building a family, not sex. But also, the primary incentive for men to build a family was the sexual exclusivity of marriage. And now that women no longer “need” marriage for survival, men are giving up on ambition. If that’s the case, what’s your actual point? Do you believe society functioned better when women’s economic survival depended on marriage? And if so, what do you propose as a solution to reverse this so-calle…

The entire argument is a badly stitched-together Frankenstein of pseudo-history, pop anthropology, gender resentment, and apocalyptic doom-mongering. He can’t decide if patriarchy was a necessary evil or a glorious, functional system. He blames women for men’s declining ambition, as if personal drive only exists when sex is a reward. He ignores economic, technological, and cultural shifts that actually impact workforce trends, instead blaming it all on female empowerment. He claims birth rates a…

“A lot” is subjective. When compared to my personal consumption of it, you watch about 5,000% as much porn as I do. So in my opinion, it’s a huge amount of time spent watching porn.

You’re not helping your case. Dressing for your body type isn’t just about wearing the correct size. It’s about choosing styles, cuts, and fabrics that flatter your proportions. Two men can wear the same size, but one might look effortlessly stylish while the other looks awkward because of how their clothes fit their shape. Understanding what works best for your body is a skill, and saying most straight men don’t do this isn’t nonsense. It’s an observation about how many men default to whatever …

No, it’s by no means the closest you can get to a 1:1 comparison. The value of sex and the value of the cost of a date aren’t equal. But coming back to my original point, you will find that feminist discourse encourages women to pay for their own portion of dates or pay for dates as a whole rather than depend on men to fill the patriarchal provider role. And again, I’d like to repeat that this “men are shunned, women are celebrated” attitude is not as universal as you are implying. If that were …
/r/PurplePillDebate24/01/25 06:28 PM

I disagree with the universality of your scenarios here, in real life there are plenty of people who would feel various ways towards both these situations, regardless of the gender of those involved. It would be more helpful to give a 1:1 comparison, which I noticed OP didn’t do in his post, either. I think it would be potentially awkward, entitled, or presumptive for a man or a woman to announce on the first date that they expect sex to be involved. I don’t think that’s a fringe belief, either.…

I think you’re just reinforcing u/attendquoi ‘s point with this comment 💀. Not understanding how dressing for your body type is separate from dressing to your taste / style preferences is a pretty good indicator that you’re not dressing to your body type (or that if you are it’s just a happy accident).

Even if you don’t explicitly say you’re against feminism, your post follows a pattern that’s common in anti-feminist spaces, framing women as receiving sympathy while men are blamed. Feminism itself challenges many of the same unfair expectations that you’re frustrated about. There’s no need to pit men and women against each other.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/01/25 05:53 PM

Writing a Reddit post that blames feminism does not change custody laws, social policies, or family court biases. If you genuinely want to address these issues, you should be taking direct action, such as: - Supporting or starting advocacy groups that fight for fair custody laws. - Petitioning legislators for legal changes to family court policies. - Volunteering for or donating to organizations that help single fathers gain custody or co-parent effectively. - Encouraging men to be active parent…

The misrepresentation of feminist ideals here makes me wonder if your only information about feminism has come to you from anti-feminist manosphere perspectives. Feminism encourages the balanced, nuanced approach to gender differences that you’re looking for men to benefit from. However, you do not seem to extend that same consideration to women’s issues.

Oh look! Another emotionally-driven rant in which statistics are cherry-picked, claims are made with zero supporting evidence, and feminism is used as a scapegoat. Here’s a question for OP: what are you personally doing to right these societal wrongs?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/01/25 04:16 PM

Addressing Your Claims: “Most men never went to universities either.” • You argue that only wealthy men went to universities historically, implying that women were not uniquely excluded. However: • While education was class-based, women were also excluded for gender-based reasons. Even wealthy women were barred from higher education for centuries in many societies. • The fact that only some men had access does not disprove that women were disproportionately restricted based on gender. • The firs…

Chat says: This response contains several issues that can be addressed systematically. Here’s how I would respond: “You asserted I said ALL women.” Your original comment made broad generalizations about women, which strongly implied an all-encompassing statement. I asked ChatGPT to analyze the logical reasoning of your comment, out of curiosity. Anyway: This comment contains multiple logical fallacies. Here’s a breakdown: 1. Hasty Generalization – The commenter makes broad claims about all women based on selective examples. Saying “women are hypocrites” based on specific grievances ignores the diversity of perspectives among women. 2. Straw Man Fallacy – The argument distorts feminist and gender equality arguments. Women advocating for equal representati…

My comment is more about a select group of men I see on the internet. Men who have never had a relationship with a woman, but say that AWALT / mean / overly emotional/ whatever because of a negative experience they had with a mean girl when they were 15. I’d die for my child in a heartbeat. And I don’t mean that as a figure of speech, I mean that without hesitation I would give my life for her. Which is partially why I don’t think I’d intentionally put myself in harms way for a total stranger. I’m the primary parent and my daughter needs me to be around for her. I’m sure I’m not the only woman who feels that way. I wonder if OP has anyone in his life who he knows he would sacrifice himself for.

I agree! I saw a thread one time asking what a good example of the female gaze was and I answered Jamie Fraser from the Outlander series. There’s a couple people chiming in here in the comments saying they feel weird about using porn while in a committed relationship. I agree on your point regarding exclusivity and what that means, that wasn’t my point, but yes you should be having conversations about monogamy and what you define monogamy as. Either way, I understand that this view of porn isn’t a popular one, but my question remains why we view it to be acceptable in the context of a relationship
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/25 04:47 PM

I think husband material is more personal than that. There’s plenty of genuinely nice, caring guys out there who I wouldn’t describe as “husband material” because they wouldn’t be compatible with me. Aside from that, this Achilles Heel of crippling insecurity nullifies that “amazing, loving” thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/25 04:45 PM

I’d like to challenge this by pointing out that if you start dating someone (let’s just assume you’re a woman dating a hetero man for simplicity’s sake), you go into the relationship knowing that he’s interested in and attracted to other women. But the overwhelmingly popular assumption is that the man will no longer act on that desire for other women out of respect for your monogamous relationship. How is the use of porn any different? Just because it’s anonymous?

As much empathy as women have “demanded” or as much empathy as women have received? Two different things. I think men are on the receiving end of the same empathy they’ve been giving. At least that’s how I personally have been approaching the topic.

I’m not personally trying to be funny if I talk about them. But your specific example mentions how no one thinks it’s funny when someone tells those jokes. The issue is those jokes suck. I’m not educated enough on either topic to make that sort of statement and I honestly don’t want to be. I’m perfectly content to just not cut bits off any kids I have and call it good. But again, not at all a unique perspective from a feminist standpoint.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/01/25 04:25 AM

It’s a very common stance among feminists? I had a baby in the spring and we definitely were not going to circumcise if it was a boy.

Do you realize you can really want something, choose that thing, and not love every minute detail of that thing? Also, fwiw, only fraternal twins have a genetic component. Identical twins are random.

100%. Like I mentioned, I have my daughter who is the absolute light of my life and I would be devastated if one day she was a victim of violence like this. But if she were a boy I wouldn’t feel any differently. We’re all entitled to basic human dignity. Cool thread.

Yeah, it’s definitely not okay and I think it’s an unfair double standard against men…and I don’t think I’ve ever said that in this sub, so congrats lol. I think it’s based on a couple of things. I’ve seen plenty of sitcoms and romcoms, most of which are aimed at families / teen-ish aged audiences, that will include a woman slapping a man as a comedic bit. Like you mentioned, I don’t think it’s actually physically hurting anyone in most cases where these are translated to real life, but it’s not…

I found similar numbers! I misinterpreted your post at first somehow and was reading the numbers in hetero relationships as “sex who had claim made against them” rather than “sex making the claim” (idk why) and i thought it was weird because it was the opposite of what I was finding. But my brain was just flipped around. Also I kinda get your incognito thing, google told me help was available if I need it. My husband better hope I don’t go mysteriously missing. The first thread you saw when you looked…where? I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m responding to your comment about how women don’t get to complain about pregnancy/ birth / breastfeeding being hard when they went into it knowing it would be hard. Now you’re talking to me about someone’s husband ignoring a birthday party, which imo has nothing to do with anything but does show that you possess a concerning lack of empathy.

The “loads of kids” thing is definitely being promoted as a traditional ideal in some circles. But definitely overlooks the historical necessity of having several children from a labor perspective. As well as the fact that many children died from vaccine-preventable illnesses (though I’d argue that that is also being promoted as a traditional ideal in the antivax community)

Saaaaame (but not about the twins). I feel like I consistently heard “no one tells you how hard it is” in regard to having babies. To the point where I went into it expecting it to be really hard. And there were definitely some aspects that were easier than I expected, but also some aspects that were harder than I thought. It was something we wanted for a long time and struggled to finally conceive, so our daughter was very much planned. But that doesn’t mean we’re always having a blast with the…

I think it’s more just a “ugh this sucks” thing rather than a “this sucks and it’s my husband’s fault 😡” thing. This is it. Honestly shut the sub down because you’ve summed it all up. Separately I think we should all stop making assumptions on relationships / people / ways of life that are well outside our lived experiences. Not a dig at OP, I don’t know her situation. Just that I am a SAHM and living a very “traditional” lifestyle at the moment and it’s so hard I would love to have a job to go to for 8 hours a day.

I would self-describe as an introvert, I like going out and doing things but on a less frequent basis than a lot of other people seem to. I spend a good amount of time at home. Yeah, you’re probably right. Or I hope you are. Maybe this comes down to me just thinking that I personally wouldn’t find this helpful and that it would only serve to make me angry. Without a lot more context I guess we can only project our own feelings.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/24 10:56 PM
4

Very well said. Ditto to all this. I think the issue with OP’s post isn’t “do fathers speak to their daughters about dating or not” but rather “does being aware of the issues relating to sex and relationships make you misandrist?” If you ask me, it doesn’t.

Again, the post is “men lie about x” and you keep saying “we don’t lie about y!” I don’t really have a dog in the fight, this is a little petty even for me. I’m just saying that what you’re arguing against isn’t the point of the post.

I think the part that rubs me the wrong way is the “excuse” column. I don’t think it helps anyone to keep track of that for the sake of data collection, and it reads like this is something she needs to give a good reason to be excused from.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/24 07:02 PM

Agreeing with you here on your third point. You actually helped me understand what OP was trying to convey, because to me it felt like some disorganized pieces of information. None of this is hatred, and if a dad does or doesn’t sit his daughter down to have a talk about boys is irrelevant, because that talk isn’t going to be “now Betty, it’s time for you to learn what vermin all men really are.”

Having lived in the south my whole life, that’s definitely not the norm. Not to say it never happens because I’m sure someone somewhere has. But absolutely not in my life or that of anyone I know. (Although as I think about it I could see my FIL saying some cringe shit like that as a joke 🤮)

I’m not positive what the point of this post is. I’m not trying to be rude, either, but I read it a couple of times and I’m just a little confused about what the message is. I’ve also never heard this quote about men teaching their daughters to be misandrists. I briefly looked at both of the older posts you referenced, and didn’t see that idea as the topic of discussion there, either.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/24 06:45 PM

Exactly. And the job certainly isn’t sad to see the applicant go.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/24 03:29 PM

You can be treated “better” than previous partners and still not be treated that well. And vice versa. And also I’m not sure how you would even know all these intimate details about past relationships.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/24 03:21 PM
2

Someone out there has done just that and is having the time of his life
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/24 04:26 AM

The thing about being treated like shit or being treated well is it doesn’t require a second person to compare yourself to in order for you to recognize it. Also I am a second wife and before this moment I never even thought about what his first wife’s ring looked like. But now that the thought has entered my head I still don’t care. I picked out my ring and he bought it for me. Why would hers change how I feel about mine?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/24 04:18 AM

What? None of this is a thing that most people think about.

I didn’t recognize her! And clearly no one else did either hahaha
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/24 02:19 AM

I don’t think that a guy that pays for a date is necessarily more interested. But then again I’ve lived in the south my whole life and many men would pay for someone they’re having a god-awful time with sooner than seem ungentlemanly. Also equating the cost of a couple of drinks to access to someone’s body is gross
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/24 01:44 AM

Seconding all of this, and adding that the sexual history of your partner (or prospective partner) is not your business! If they want to share at a later date, great. But you are not entitled to that kind of information by default, and insisting on these details from someone you barely know is a massive invasion of privacy and reeks of insecurity.

Maybe, I just searched something like “woman no makeup” and idk who this is. I just tried to find someone whose skin resembled my own. Mine is pretty uneven but I don’t have an autoimmune disease. Edit — I went back and looked and it’s Sofia Vergara omg. It said she had a 102 fever, so that explains the flushed look.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/24 11:21 PM

I think you can be told that things aren’t your fault but that you’re able to change them. TRP seems to me to be more “it’s not your fault and there’s nothing you can do to fix it.”
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/24 07:08 PM

Idk why I make myself read threads about her. Makes my stomach hurt.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/24 03:51 PM

Did he even engage with his own post?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/24 03:50 PM

I may very well be, but I see plenty of b&w claims about female attraction that suppose I should be all over this man by default.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/24 03:38 PM

I just can’t get my head around someone being twice my size, adding a hundred pounds to that, dressing them in a football uniform and having them charge at people. I’d shart myself.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/24 03:36 PM

366lbs?? The human body isn’t meant for that idc what anyone says 😭

I realized I was kinda missing what you were trying to say. I replied to my above comment with a picture I found, does that apply? Or if you find a picture you can post it and I will weigh in. Sometimes I think it’s less about the skin itself and more about other things — like you can be barefaced and clearly still wearing makeup in other areas of the face.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/24 03:21 PM
4

<image> Like this person looks really pretty but you can tell from the unevenness of her skin tone that she’s barefaced.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/24 03:20 PM

A person with even skin tone with no acne or blemishes will look great without makeup because they have an even skin tone, no acne, and no blemishes. Still, if you want blush, highlighter, or contour you should still put on some sort of foundation base so that it has something to grab onto.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/24 03:14 PM

Maybe if by “average American woman” you mean like older southern women or like high school drop out teen moms? There’s a specific stereotype of woman that wears heavy makeup like you’re describing. I’ve seen it described as “republican makeup.” https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTYnHdf7G/
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/24 03:06 PM

It’s funny because I see TRP guys say this is the type of guy who can pull any woman he wants but this is deeply unattractive to me
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/24 03:03 PM
1

There’s been a huge change in the way women wear makeup the last couple of years. The “clean girl” look has been hugely popular and is based on minimal makeup/ focuses on skincare.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/24 02:52 PM
1

What if she looks fine without, but prefers the way she feels when she does wear makeup
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/24 02:51 PM

Im wondering if you think they have bad skin because you’re used to seeing women in makeup
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/24 02:49 PM

Yeah idk imo I’m not interested in doing either. I’m just saying that the study only referred to dating and your comment referred to sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/24 02:27 PM

So again, TRP is promoting those ideals in response to believing that personality can be attractive / NAWALT. Meaning they preach the opposite.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/24 02:12 PM

Sure, DBs exist, but your stance on how you get there isn’t realistic.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/24 02:06 PM

That’s not how I think and I’ve never seen anyone in my life act that way. But ok. 👍
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/24 01:57 PM

Idk how you know what TRP is “really / secretly” thinking. And I haven’t seen this stance in TBP, personally.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/24 01:52 PM

Yes and no. I think PUA try to fabricate the real thing. The real thing, a natural / instinctive spark, isn’t typically so calculated. It can be, but it also can be based on genuine interest in a person beyond the physical.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/24 01:48 PM

Care to elaborate, or…?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/24 01:46 PM

I think about this movie every time I get a cocktail and it comes with the little stirring straw. “You look like you’re sucking on a tiny dick.” But anyway yes he’s so attractive in that movie. The Dirty Dancing lift 😩

/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/24 01:41 PM

Yeah, OP conspicuously skipped over that part of his summary of the post mentioned in the first paragraph. I’m fairly certain the vibe was “why would he accuse you of cheating when you’ve been faithful, that’s awful” and not the “it’s none of his business whether it’s his child, he needs to pay for it,” that is being portrayed here.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/24 03:18 AM

It’s happening in the comments here. Several women are saying they’re over thirty and get plenty of male attention. There’s a ton of replies saying “it’s only because they have a milf fetish” “you’re cougar territory” “they want to pump and dump” “none of those people are looking for commitment” “only low quality men are interested in you” “they would all prefer a younger woman if they could get one”

It’s all part of this sad revenge fantasy in which men have their pick of hot young women, while older women are begging for a chance to be with men. In reality, younger women still don’t want older men (outside of an age kink or sugar baby thing) and older women seem to still get more attention than younger men.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/24 01:04 AM

I copied it anyway. Here was the original phrasing: None of this is true, and despite being glaringly obvious it somehow persists. Why would a man want to deal with emotional baggage from an inferior product? It’s common sense, but we all know how little of that exists on the blue side.

The sub both of those posts are in, waiting to wed, is for women who want to get married but their partners aren’t ready to propose. The second post about the tennis bracelet is frustrating to that person because her boyfriend has been telling her that they’re not engaged yet because he’s saving up for a ring, but the cost of the bracelet was equal to that of an engagement ring. It’s not shallow to want to like your engagement ring. I don’t really think I’m doing mental gymnastics, it feels that you picked up on one detail from the referenced post and you don’t want to move past it to discuss the topic at hand.

You still have the “divorce rates” of 74, 78, and 72 percent in your post. This is why you’re being told you should delete, your interpretation is bad and reworking this live isn’t great.

Probably because they’re less likely to be content to remain in an unhappy marriage, I’m not sure. I’m not in a lesbian marriage.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/24 12:59 AM
13

No you’re still not understanding. The entire sample was ONLY divorced, homosexual couples. 72% were female. 28% male. The reason we can’t extrapolate the divorce rate from this is it says nothing about how many same sex couples are still married.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/24 12:55 AM
12

Basically it was saying that out of a sample of divorced homosexual couples, 72% were female and 28% male. That does not mean that 72% of lesbian couples divorce. Thats not how the divorce rate is calculated. You get that by looking at the percentage of couples who have gotten married and later split up. You can’t tell anything about divorce rate if you’re only looking at divorced people.

Your stats on same sex divorce are wrong. Looking at your source, then the source cited in that source, it was saying that 72% of gay divorces were with lesbians and 28% were with men. Not that those are the rates of divorce.

You think that by asking a woman to cover the expense of a $7 coffee or a $10 drink that you’re going to drastically reduce the amount of women who are interested in a date? And this is a bad thing because you don’t want to miss out on a woman who isn’t interested in paying for her own coffee or drink? Also there are already plenty of men who expect or at least try to hook up on first dates. Like, a huge amount of men. If anything, I wouldn’t want anyone to pay for me on a date so that there’s n…

I understand exactly what you mean. I didn’t go through this to the same extent you did, but I definitely still guard myself around my parents. Sometimes we’ll be getting along and I’ll suddenly remember something that happened as a child that completely brings me out of the moment.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/24 06:32 PM

I just don’t think this is a big issue when you can: -have conversations prior to the date in which you outline expectations for payment -go on dates that are cheap (coffee dates were a go-to for me, pretty much always under $20) -go on dates that are free (hiking, parks, some museums)
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/24 05:53 PM

Sorry, but doesn’t your comment sort of just prove how little of an issue this is?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/24 05:44 PM

Do you have conversations about this prior to the date so that both parties are aware of whatever the expectation is?

I think it’s very clear that a hypothetical situation involving heavy active addiction is different from disowning family due to sexuality. And even in this hypothetical, I’d still love her more than anyone else, which is the topic of discussion. My kid could be a serial killer and I’d still visit her in prison.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/24 05:06 PM

No, I mean those 20% are the men who are so incredibly good looking that it’s impossible to miss. Most everyone else falls into a neutral category pending more information about the person.

There’s a huuuuuuge middle ground you’re skipping over. Love bombing just makes me feel like you don’t even care to get to know me as a person, you’re just projecting some fantasy woman onto me. It’s not flattering.

I think that parents who are willing to disown their children over their actions, beliefs, etc. must have a malfunction in their brain chemistry. The idea of cutting my daughter out of my life would be like cutting off my own arm. The only reason I could maybe see doing this is if she were an addict or something and I could no longer be an enabler, but even then it would have to be a “this is for your own good” type thing and I would still love her and miss her.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/24 03:08 PM

I agree. There is nothing my daughter could do or say that would make me stop loving her. I can’t imagine feeling differently.

Isn’t the statistic more that they’re not attracted to 80% of men based on looks alone? Thats different than thinking that 80% of men are ugly. We’ve had conversations here about that stat and how many women need to get to know someone before determining whether they can be attracted to them.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/24 02:57 PM

How much time are you spending having meaningful conversations with women outside of the internet? I think you’d find that your theories are incongruous with the reality of how women think and behave.

Hard for me to say, I don’t go to many weddings and the last one I attended was my own where we only invited immediate family. But I’ve seen a million insta photos of couples attending weddings with corny captions like “my forever wedding date” or “always my favorite wedding date”
/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/24 10:00 PM

Child support is determined based off your income. But yes, that wouldn’t be enough. As you mentioned in your comment, it would be about the cost of feeding someone for a month. Doesn’t touch school supplies, clothes, diapers, toys, medical costs, or whatever other things may come up. It’s crazy how expensive things can get when you start adding it all up. (And while young children can probably eat for cheaper than adults, babies need formula or baby food that is surprisingly costly.)
/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/24 09:57 PM

Plus a large portion of black + white thinking, logical fallacies, goal post shifting, and when all else fails (or even just for fun) some good old ad hominems.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/24 05:41 PM
3

Don’t people still bring dates to weddings?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/24 04:44 PM

I read a statistic that most child support payments are under $450 and only 40% of child support agreements are paid properly (don’t quote me on that because I didn’t bother to verify), so depending on what government assistance would be available I absolutely agree that it could benefit everyone.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/24 04:32 PM

Improving reading skills (like even a baseline ninth grade level would be a step in the right direction) and very basic debate etiquette would go a long way here.

I just don’t care for goalpost shifting. -“women never take on personal risk.” -explain that pregnancy and birth is risky, provide stats to back it up -“well that doesn’t count to me because a subset of men encounter more occupational risk over the span of several years.”
/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/24 04:22 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/24 03:53 PM

The state of literacy in this sub is abysmal.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/24 02:23 PM

It’s in line with the reality of raising a child in the states rn though. Birth itself costs tens of thousands, then there’s all the pediatric bills, cost of baby food and formula, diapers, no guaranteed maternity leave, exponential cost of childcare, I have no idea how I’m going to put my kid(s) through college…

Well when you consider how 2/3 of the maternal mortality rate comes from postpartum death and how we’re the only developed nation without a federal mandated maternity leave and one of the only that doesn’t provide several postpartum health checks, I think there’s a lot to be desired.

This guy is the worst tho. He unironically told me men dont value intellectualism — that only women value things like education and reading because it makes them seem more “worldly.” I can’t quite explain it but it had the same energy as “fellas is it gay to wash your ass?” Same concept of robbing yourself of something that would be in your own best interest because doing that thing would make you seem too soft.

You can choose the peril of one or the other, that’s something that’s up to you and you alone, though it lowkey sounds like you just want to experience pregnancy and hate your job. Which is fine, again that’s up to you. Women not wanting to be your colleague doesn’t mean they’re afraid of your job. It could, but in my case it’s genuinely just not appealing. It doesn’t sound interesting or fulfilling and the wage I saw when I looked up that statistic wasn’t enough to excuse either of those things…

I can’t help but feel you’re arguing in bad faith if you excuse statistics proving you wrong to be irrelevant. But also maybe someone should let you know that you’re free to change careers? You’re not an indentured servant. And your argument is akin to me saying that men must not value intellectualism since so few of them go into education.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 08:45 PM
3

And also why does he assume that if there are fewer women than men that it’s due to an unwillingness to pursue a more risky career? And to further assume that those women are thinking to themselves that it’s a “man’s job” to take on that risk? Maybe that work just doesn’t appeal to women. Maybe it’s not marketed to women. Maybe women don’t want to be part of their boys club. I worked several years as a vet tech and only ever had a few male coworkers, but I never said “I guess they’re just not br…

I don’t think I get what you’re saying? I mean both men and women should feel that they’re able to identify with their genders, to find that their gender offers a method of self expression and that they are able to connect with others on the basis of a shared gender. But that we shouldn’t feel like we have to do things we don’t want to or that we can’t do things we do want to just because we’re women or men. Does that make sense or did I totally misinterpret your first comment?

Oh I know, the guy I’m responding to just keeps making it sound like you can’t have more than maybe just one healthy child if the mom is over 25 lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/24 03:00 AM

The comment you responded to wasn’t about age-related infertility, it was about birth defects and developmental disorders.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/24 09:22 PM

“One or few” is how many children most people want. Waiting until later in life to have children also positively trends with education and income.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/24 09:18 PM

Nah, I’m not gonna believe that 14 separate people read “as a guy at a normal weight I’d prefer not to date a fat woman” and thought “this deserves death 😊💅” If he wants to send me screenshots I’ll publicly apologize and admit I was wrong.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/24 08:10 PM

You haven’t looked into it or fertility in general. So maybe don’t speculate.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/24 08:05 PM

Considering the median age of first birth in the US is now 30 years old, I don’t think this is as large a problem as you may think it is. https://www.census.gov/library/stories/2022/04/fertility-rates-declined-for-younger-women-increased-for-older-women.html?utm_campaign=20220406msacos1ccstors&utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/24 07:50 PM

Tbf I don’t believe 14 people sent death threats so it’s a moot point.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/24 07:42 PM

I think you would have had to say something more than just that, in those words, for fourteen different people to think an actual death threat is a reasonable response.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/24 07:05 PM

Maybe not the absolute ideal but can very much still easily get pregnant and have a healthy baby. Men’s age affects pregnancy outcomes to a greater degree than we previously thought, but I rarely see that as a topic of discussion.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/24 06:56 PM

Going this young is completely unnecessary and unjustified in terms of fertility. That’s the point I’m trying to make.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/24 06:47 PM

If women are free to have this standard then so are men. Or do you mean free from criticism? Because that’s not true either, considering the amount of posts I’ve seen about this issue. Which, truth be told, is kind of a trivial thing to be deeply bothered by. Are men the alpha providers or aren’t they?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/24 06:46 PM

Depends on where and how you say it. If you say that women over 30 are used up, post-wall, infertile, etc then you’re going to meet some resistance.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/24 06:40 PM

What does this have to do with anything
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/24 06:37 PM

Yeah, if it were a younger man and older woman I’d still find that sort of age gap to be disturbing. Also 18 is v much not your reproductive peak. https://scholar.google.com/scholar?q=maternal+mortality+and+teen+pregnancy&hl=en&as_sdt=0&as_vis=1&oi=scholart#d=gs_qabs&t=1734460060223&u=%23p%3D-CNPujawc8wJ

It’s been a few years since I used a dating app, but when I used it (or when I saw female friends swiping through profiles), I only swiped right on men who were very good looking to a point where it was hard not to notice, or men who had something on their profile that clicked for me. Mostly the latter. It was rare that I didn’t read a profile in its entirety before swiping.

Because your question is referring to statistical trends and averages across large groups of people. It doesn’t reflect anyone’s day to day experience, and even if it did I don’t think anyone would be able to say “oh yeah I feel that way because I think Orlando Bloom in the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie looked so hot that everyone else is just ugly to me now.”

I’m not sure if this is an answer to your question, and I can only speak from my own experience, but I just don’t feel any attraction to most men. I don’t think many women are as visual as men are. It’s not that I think they’re bad looking, it’s just that I don’t feel any actual attraction. It’s not the same as feeling like they’re ugly, it’s just that they don’t pull my attention.
