I think at it's core it seems like it'd be driven by the cognitive dissonance that comes from an overly inflated ego because society's told them they're an incredible catch and being faced with the reality of a woman who really is not at all interested in them.

Yeah what is honestly up with this kind of thing. Why are people so obsessed with the idea that a woman is incomplete without a man! If your partner is making your life worse and doesn't even see you as worthy of respect, what is even the point. Honestly it seems like the time and energy many women spend on dudes who drag their quality of life down would have been better spent watching paint dry.

I've noped the fuck away from many a dude when he's brought up the idea of polyamory. I find the idea of having "backups" an absolutely cowardly approach to relationships. I'm not build for that kind of thing and have no desire to compete with other women in my personal life.
