You are assuming that she's not aware of him in the first place and that she would prefer the straight forward way. There are cultures and preferences where the note is actually the better method of breaking the ice. @op it might be better to start with society events that you actually require you to work together first. That takes the pressure off of actually getting that first 'date'

I should probably add, sex was never involved in our 'relationship'. The seduction part actually started after our first meeting following that large fight. I've kept my distance and position as friend but it's actually him who doesn't want to. The fight actually went along the lines of me telling him that, if he didn't grow up and decide on what he wants all I'll ever be is his friend and he would just have to deal with the fact that I will be seeing other people...

Gal here and to be frank, I talk to pretty much anybody. If the conversation is decent and I don't feel like 'being cornered' and a 'date' of the platonic or romantic type just kind of casually slipped into the conversation I rarely say no. The only exceptions are when I know the guy is clearly interested but I'm not. In which case, I'll still see them but just never one-on-one. Otherwise, I can even go and spend a day with a platonic friend, if their partners are not bothered by it.

Unless it's jovial and everyone's in on it I don't see a problem. However, when it gets to a stage where there seems to be competition, then you're just asking for trouble. If you are dating her, you are trying to qualify her as a partner and vice versa. Flirting outright when she is right there is just downright disrespectful. I've had a friend's boyfriend (ex bf now) who were flirting with me right in front of her. He was a great looking guy but his total disrespect for her just totally negate…

I'm a gal and I have a lot of guy friends like yourself who may or may not have a crush on me. I know they were interested by the way they keep 'testing the waters' but unless I really liked the guy I would often just ignore the tests and just treat them like a friend. There have been some that I would have dated but as they kept skirting the subject I just felt that they were playing so I just pass on those potentials. If you really think that there's a spark, testing once or twice is fine but …

It's actually the how a guy approached the girl that creeps them out. If it was friendly and felt genuine, there's not a lot of people who'd refuse a quick chat.

Accept yourself, anxiety and all. Realise that you'll feel that way regardless of who you're with or what the situation will be. It's just a feeling. It doesn't define you or should stop you from doing the things you want to do. As long as you own up to the fact that your anxiety is something that you and only yourself have to deal with, whilst projecting a willingness to really know the other person and let them know you, then it's only a matter of time the right one comes along. Have fun and j…
