I'm not sure if I agree with that last part. People on welfare don't become second-class citizens, and if your welfare state becomes large enough to be a formidable voting bloc, then you have issues far beyond them being able to vote.

Nice circular logic.

It's obvious with her second comment that she thinks she has a pass, because who would say such hateful shit unless they thought they could get away with it?

To be fair, I've always thought that if the Republicans even put half the effort into finding real solutions to our problems, instead of using it to come up with derogatory names for Democrats, we would have world peace several times over. This seems to exist across party lines, though I try to point out to people that if they use that type of terminology it doesn't do much for their argument.

The other point is they put a monetary value on compassion. It wasn't like they lacked the resources, the fire engine was on-scene but only sprayed down the house next door so it wouldn't catch fire, because they had paid. It's definitely a gray area. Having some sort of reimbursement plan is a much better solution, rather than the current one that includes marshmallows and long sticks.

The sad part is that in the original video she immediately says "I deserved that" after getting a dose of the spicy air horn, yet the mainstream media portrayed the events around the situation as "underage girl gets groped at Trump rally, then pepper sprayed when she protests it." It was sickening. It was the event that turned me toward Trump, as a Bernie supporter, when I found the media was treating Trump even more unfairly than they were treating Bernie.

I was a stay-at-home dad for six years while going to university. Easily the most worry-free existence I've ever had. Kids are a piece of cake if you raise them right, and all the rest takes a couple hours per day. I'll trade that for my 60-hour weeks in a heartbeat. I like that logic though: "I got to live off you for free for several years, so I'm entitled to at least half of whatever you make from here on out because I never decided to better myself, yet I require the exact same lifestyle."

I think he redeemed himself a bit during his h3h3 interview. He was very candid and seemed apologetic and remorseful. I kinda see this in the same vein as NBC rigging GM SUVs to explode from a side impact, during a reenactment in a news segment about several instances of them exploding and catching fire. They kinda blurred the lines in that story and made it appear that the explosion was unassisted, so of course GM won that lawsuit. In this case he's paying a huge social cost, which is pretty ha…

The people who think they're making things safer by requiring half the traffic to abruptly slow down and then have to change lanes in lower-visibility conditions. They also tend to be the same people who start slowing down as they approach the highway offramp, even though they have about 500 yards to slow down after exiting.

In this case though it really doesn't need to be calibrated to see that he was driving with the flow of traffic and not speeding. He's not gaining on the Mini Cooper that turned in front of him, so if he was speeding as claimed, they all were speeding, and she didn't seem to have a problem avoiding all those other 'speeding' cars.

It's actually the opposite. He threatened to kill himself so often, due to his depression, that she got annoyed by it. So she researched ways for him to do it, instructed him how he should do it, then continually encouraged him to do it. I thought the same as you at first, then I read their text message exchanges. I felt physically ill afterward. The kid is obviously crying out for help and her response is essentially "why haven't you killed yourself yet?" And when she allegedly did it just to g…

She allegedly researched ways to commit suicide, which she then relayed to him. There was definite planning involved on her part.

You must have misread, because they're saying that no matter the legal outcome, socially she'll still be an outcast due to her vile behavior. As it should be.

He was a teenager with clinical depression. Rational thoughts? Hah!

The kid had clinical depression, was on medication, and was prone to self-destructive thoughts. She knew all of this, and manipulated him into killing himself just so she would get attention as the "poor girl who had lost her boyfriend to suicide." Keep up your full-throated defense though, because you're showing everyone just how ignorant you are with every sentence.

Well, IIRC the prosecution's case is that she has some type of Munchausen Syndrome, and wanted him to kill himself so that she could get sympathy, and be the center of attention, by playing off of his death. So she pretty much convinced this kid to kill himself so that she could gain social stature. She's downright evil. I really hope that she's held accountable.

At last count I think it was more like 3,000,000+ signed it, but there were also like 59,000 signatures from The Vatican, a city with 800 inhabitants. There's so much crazy shit flying around right now nobody knows what the hell to believe anymore.

No, no, no. No. Women cannot be sexist, there's some definitional technicality that prevents it.

I like how you label yourself open-minded yet demonstrate your mind is anything but open. This isn't about getting even. Unless you're admitting that the only reason that men are named in rape cases while women get to remain anonymous is to get even with them? Because feminists never seem to care about false rape accusations, or they minimize the damage they can do to your reputation. People still think you did it, you just managed to get a good lawyer who got you off the hook. For instance, Bil…

Gonna go out on a limb here for a second and give my 'interpretive' play-by-play from what I see in the video. The video opens with two girls fighting, and two girls trying to break it up (tall one in black shirt and girl in green shirt). In the beginning it looks like the father is watching his daughter (in white) fight the other girl, because he casually strolls into the fight to help break it up when she starts losing. Only that's when the other girls start trying to pull him off, and he begi…

When the only 'crime' is that someone is a man, then yeah, it's pretty much a given that it's an SJW. It really don't take no rocket surgeon to figure that one out.

You left out the #1 cause, Union busting by Republicans. Take away the worker's leverage to negotiate with management, and wouldn't ya know, their wages have stagnated for thirty years. But nah, it's always business that suffers at the hands of government, and in turn hurts their workers.

Fuck SNL, fuck their third-wave-feminist liberal progressivism bullshit... You don't need to lump liberalism and progressivism in with that, since (modern) feminism actually has nothing to do with either of them. Remember that the new feminism infects everything it touches, and of course the first thing they went after was the liberals. I don't mean to take offense to your comment, I just keep seeing 'feminist' and 'liberal' treated as synonyms, and I find myself in a quandary, because I'm quite…

My favorite excerpt from the article: Critics also worry that all-boys schools promote a machismo culture and could alienate boys who are gay. Yet a schoolwide commitment to helping young men become gentlemen meant frequent lessons about respecting women and girls. Does one pertain to the other?

From the article: It's an all-boys high school in a large urban school district on the East Coast. It opened several years ago. Nearly all the boys there are African-American, and a large majority of their families are working-class or poor. That's probably why the downvotes. This isn't an 'affluent' school.

The main problem is that SRS is 'on the record' as a group trying to 'clean up' Reddit, so if they suddenly were banned, well that could make Reddit look even worse. SRS are trying to shame Reddit admins into getting rid of the parts they don't like. And it's interesting how much they make fun of 'free speech', because in their minds, it only applies to them. I perused SRS once, and lasted about five minutes. It's basically a bunch of self-righteous feminists, and people who seek out posts to be…
