This! In many, now mostly extinct, middle class families you were raised to not be an embarassment, not to be a functional human. Failures of idealism.

If things are gonna be equal, we can't have a difference in supply and demand. And the perception and reality is that supply is 30% of demand (based on OLD apps). Since our confidence comes more from accomplishments, maybe we should just think if we're insecure, we're gonna get taken advantage of, and start vetting seriously. Spend teenage years working on oneself as the norm, because as insecure you guy, you're going to have shitty luck and experiences either way. Observe how they behave with p…

Used to be so smooth I'd be flattered (Thank you, but no - I'm the straight accessory). Later it became so grabby and obnoxious, I kinda feel for my old gay friends who lament in disgust. Maybe a local thing, maybe not.

Going with gay friends because they want to is ok, going just to hookup isn't. Hooking up itself is ok, but in the interest of everyone there, the guy shouldn't be the one approaching. The dynamics there are different and everybody's (well was, it's different now I think) much more relaxed, and it is due to lack of guys "hunting". However the amount of straight girl horny there is probably the closest you'll come to feeling like a young Chad.

Well our system(s) certainly has multi generational power structures holding most money (I don't see any alternatives to capitalism) and there is very little free in the today's "free" market so oligarchy is pretty correct. Women and women's issues are in greater focus (they do get condenscening crap), and the narrative is much more hostile to men in the mainstream. Men's fringe groups do show hostility back and there are horrible examples, but mainstream is pretty gynocentric. So yes, mostly ag…

We're definitely not in matriarchy, but it ain't guys who benefit more. It is messy and there are gender disparities all around. In justice system, as long as it can fit sex stereotypes, women are as privileged as it gets. You get a bit more than half of sentence length, and half the chance for incarceration. In the eyes of the court, women are treated like hysteria is a thing so not their fault. Women do get long sentences if they do robberies or other "manly" crimes. I think it was something l…

Hah, wanted to add that Mosuo example, as lonely as it is. Women are coddled by men. Women don't coddle other women. - so true, I'm sometimes amazed how cruel you are to each other.

I was never given evidence, nor had suspicions, but if I look from an emotional makeup view, one of them probably did. From a statistics perspective, maybe more than one, maybe not. What is your point?

The same. It is prickly at start, and small things or words can carry huge weight or trigger heavy emotions and it's better to stay away, but after half a year you aren't a priority to each other anymore. It can hurt, but it's not the main focus. After a year you start getting very relaxed. You're people who know each other so well, and they can understand and support you in a very intimate way. Now after after so many years it feels like I have very weird sisters I have a loving relationship wi…

Too much hubris to pay for sex, I get a demeaning feel when thinking about it. Not so much like I'm better than that, more like it would betray that cringy naive affection/validation seeker from past long gone.

Thing is, after all this time, I started suspecting relationship happiness is for the emotionally expresive and confident. Confidence is not an issue anymore, but it sure isn't a strenght, and I'm about as emotionally expressive in the moment as a camufluaged rock. I'm kinda tired in a light grey kind of way, and aware of the self-fulfiling prophecy aspect of that mindset. Started hanging here to see different perspectives.

Respectful sharing of opinions is a precious thing on the internet. No matter we agree or not. I don't like when people argue to win, or confirm the narrative in their head. I'm mostly here as a former bluepill, trying to see how other people think and deal, and hoping I'm not too tired of the game.

When one is not in the emotional focus the partner is distant. Jaded would describe pretty accuratelly those I know, and myself as well after few decades of relationships, so I guess also projecting a bit.

Started lurking and commenting last week or so. Liked the somewhat chill level of discourse here. But based on what I read in that short window and small sample size, it seemed like large number of red inclined men, hypergamous high count women were the scourge of humanity. I got confused by that as it seemed inconsistent so asked. I will see how it turns out, but on general distribution of answers now, it seems the sample size was too small. Glad it is so.

That does sound like it's hitting a mark. I'll try to count attitudes later so I can get a feel. Evolutionary the energy and time cost is much lesser for men, but we must've overwritten it by a lot. I do, well used to, feel a possessive pang rarely and far in between, but that would make me a hypocrite, so it goes away quickly and quietly.

If its a hookup, does it matter? I probably won't be best in such a large group, but if it isn't good or fun for both, I would stop doing it with her.

From an evolutionary perspective definitely. Guys need to spend 100kcal for sperm production and best 2 min of her life, women need to select with whose genetic material will they kickstart the good old 3D printer, hormonally rearrange their body, invest a 250000kcal of energy and put themselves in high alert low mobility state for years. But we have a lot of intelligence and emotional shit connected to our sex drives, and we've been roleplaying strange behaviours for last 10k years, and disasso…

I wouldn't commit, but after each LTR I needed some time without emotional connection, roughly half the length of LTR. I still was horny and wanted sex. Being with a girl who liked me too much would be a turn off for me in such a state. Having sex with women which wouldn't be involved seemed much better and healthier based on what I was bringing to the table, and what I found troubling. A bit messed up humans fullfilling each others needs without any baggage. If I don't have any plans for future…

Generally men round up, women round down. That behaviour is still present I think. Edit: Found articles but no study. But ssupposedly there was a study where they asked men and women about number of sex partners, and the responded 14 and 7 respectively. Then they put them to a lie detector, and both said 9, if I find it I'll link it as this might wrong. Also samples were from university students and it was from 2010's

I don't think they take that approach seriously in life, and if they do, they quickly get burned. They are mostly hurt and damaged women venting vitriol, and they find bigger comfort in having an echo chamber where they can continue dreaming warped teenage dreams. Even very timid and needy guys wouldn't accept such behavior from the get-go, they would need to be eased into it. I see it more as D&D sessions online where everybody play's their crazy inner devil, fueled with years of shame and regr…

Man, no issue at all, living apart also good. Edit: Not against marriage, but personally don't care, except if children are involved it might be easier on them, and living together is a preferable. Also better laws here (everything acquired in marriage goes 50-50, what you entered with is yours). Living together for 3 years counts as marriage.

I think he should refrain from escalating until he gets the new job, and only then be more firm about it. I sincerely believe most women would take it maturely, or with a single tantrum, and it would blow over in time, with maybe some reputation loss, and maybe a sprinkle of light mobbing. Nothing that can't be handled. But those who might take it very personally aren't in such a small number that it can be easily ignored, and she is in a postion of power over him. Not all, I'd like a more subdued emotional communication, and a bit of traditional self-censorship and discpline. I may be frustrated by the need to set boundaries. If you try "beta" rational methods you're going on the emotional rollercoaster ride, with as much choice about where it is going. And using TRP methods works so well I kinda start despising the women for it. The difference in how I'm being treated when being rational and emotionally available, or when treating her like entitled spoil…

If all men read about it, I think most would accept first and second wave without much pushback (I'm fully on board). Third wave would be contentious and a splitting point on PPD. I'm not sure we will find a common ground, but I'll try with a semi-hypothetical example. Imagine being a young boy brought up by two loving lesbian parents with very strong emotions about men, men's oppression and toxic masculinity. Your parents love you to death, but when you're picking up signals, you can see the disappointment in your mothers eyes if you choose some "masculine" toy. You can see their happiness when you choose to play with dolls, or choose pink colors. Most of us idolize pare…

I was mostly implying if you can understand the thought process and driving emotion, you will not be projecting unnecessary demonizing motives driving you apart. They will just be that other type of human, not a devil's concubine wanting to eat your soul and take your money. If you're smart enough to successfully run a business, you will have a feeling of accomplishment and self-worth, which is universally hot. Also stops you from being triggerred by any small challenge 24/7. You can just smile …

I added that point (perhaps uncalled for, but here we are) as I have an example where I knew the kid will want to wear dresses to school and hate all the toys boys like when he was -3 (minus three) months old. On the other hand he still gets a bunch of love and care so there's that.

For a good study we'll have to wait a decade at least. The gay and lesbian couples which brought up children which are old enough to go to university are definitely a sample of strong minded people who were pretty resilient as they would've be exposed to some pretty nasty stuff 10 - 20 years ago. Either way 2 parents is better than one, and even better if you don't try pushing your agenda through kids (I have a questionable example I know personally, but still better of than having one parent) J…

We put the traditional (it sucked, but there were rules) values away, started marketing for children, kids learn sex by watching porn, no direct punishment for shitty behaviour In time there would be a new paradigm of men-women relations and it would fix itself I hope, but sex robots will be here before that. Yeah, but does she see other women approaching you? Edit: I'm pushing for the answer, as attractive people generate interest in the circles in which they move, which is a blessing for a relationship, as you're kinda forced to not take your partner for granted.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/22 02:15 PM

Yeah, somewhat agree, but if your woman see's other women interest in you, no matter your reaction, you get that untameable status without neccessarily percieving it. This is not what average guys receive, does it apply to you?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/22 02:07 PM

Well, I'm definitely not healthy so can't refute that personally :) But my somewhat healthy attractive male friends are divided between happy and unhappy based on their emotional availability. The emotionally available ones get much better responses early, and way more crap later.

Ok, my apologies, I misunderstood. The crap is that bone plates fuse at 16 for girls, and 19 for boys. You can modify your face by exercise almost throughout whole life, but growth in height is done at 19, and bones grow in thickness until 27 or something like that.

What would you classify as a mature woman? There are many emotionally mature people who can be used as example, but percentage wise, they are a small minority, at least in my experience. And most people today are emotionally lagging (myself included), and they exhibit such behaviours. While thinking we have options, we allow ourselves such childish reasoning. It used to be just teenage behaviour, now it is widespread to 30's, as both genders take a lot more time to "find ourselves". And while gu…

It is 90% for first attraction, but not for staying in a relationship, it goes way below 50%. I would like to say that positive character traits help you maintain, but from what I observed, if they never feel they "tamed" you, you won't be taken for granted. But since guys want to emotionally chill in a LTR, that beta behaviour is also a minus.

Online is more clear cut, but in general mostly yes. Too many examples of how society treats 1-4's and short men. To be fair 1's and 2's women are horribly treated as well. They might get laid now and then but it will probably be a very degrading experience. Removing the romantic and traditional bullshit from dating made it free market, and paretto rule and gross inequality go strong there. Patriarchy was a pretty ruthless system, but it was somewhat aligned to human nature when we decided to settle down and do agriculture. When I say aligned, I mean more like how a village "All strangers bad, keep away" mentality has protected villagers from outside harm, while being catastrophic to anyone inside the community that was different. It worked messily and unfairly. The word triggers guys as we really don't feel priviliged, but both us and women are missing the point. We've created a s…

It think most of the blue pill philosophy was developed with the acceptance of second wave feminism, and bringing out to light many unsavoury practices concerning women. Hmmm, I always felt that girls who are of a demisexual mindset, are usually those with bad first sexual/emotional experiences. So kind of a protect yourself fallback position. I know, still a bad idea. Also not sure about wanting sex more, in practice mostly yes.
