This subreddit is funny to me. I'm happily married with children now, but from high school till my mid-20's, I was apparently figuring out many of the things you all have extensive terminology to describe....Like, with this guy's situation, I would have done such a bad job with it in high school and just let that girl jerk me around. I'm not sure what TRP's advice on this one would be, but in my experience, if he were to all-but-totally-ignore the existence of that girl, she'd end up trying very…

You clearly don't understand what empathy is. It is similar to "acknowledgment of injustice." "Everyone has problems" is actually a expansion of empathy, not a reduction. Empathy need not be limited to one group. Pointing out that some other group shares your feelings of being "objectively and systematically disenfranchised" doesn't invalidate your own perspective. Anyway, let me know what specific action I can take to help out -- seriously. I've got time.

It's pretty widely accepted that everyone has problems. Most people don't split that up by gender. It's a shame you don't have more people in your life to empathize with your challenges. That's something many men face, but many men do not have that problem. Meanwhile, many women share your same problem -- they have no one in their lives to understand and appreciate the shit they've gone through.

It so weird to read this shit because you all have this terminology and all these generalized ideas about genders, but when I read it, I just see two young people clumsily trying to figure out romantic relationships.

That sure is over-complicating it. The only thing that needs to be said about getting involved with women like that is that "They are not yet emotionally mature enough to be in a relationship that can succeed."

That's not at all a gender thing.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
