Gotcha. Sent him that and suggested we do something else and he responded favourably but will still keep a close eye. Thanks ladies

How do I word it exactly? "Hey I know we already slept together but moving forward I would rather not until..."? Not really sure how to phrase if someone can help out haha

I implied this was what's going to happen moving forward i.e. I will not longer be going over to his... is that good enough?

I know I totally messed up but currently working to fix it i.e. no more sex until he proves himself :)

He didn't cross a boundary. I let myself cross it and am disappointed in myself. He even told me he was suprised we did what we did after what I said :( ok won't be staying over the weekend. Thanks !

Did I mess up?? Been talking to this guy for 2ish weeks. First date was nice. 2nd date I stayed over at his and we ended up sleeping together even though I told him that I didn't want to sleep with him until we are committed. He claims that he really likes me and wants me to stay over next weekend. Am I moving to fast? I like him but am also guarded and I'm not sure if staying over makes me seem "easy"?

Not sure if this topic warrants a whole post but I'm wondering what FDS' stance is on dating multiple men at once? I think I read somewhere that this is encouraged but I don't think I have the mental/ emotional capacity for that? My strategy has always been to stay emotionally distant and only open myself up slowly. Would appreciate advice on this!!

FDS has really opened up my eyes to how terrible all these relationships are on that sub... and reminds me to never settle. i used to read those posts feeling sorry for ppl but im now just outright disgusted

Yeah boundaries seem to be the keyword here. Again- fresh breakup so my mind is still clouded but I really appreciate you and the other women here giving it to me straight. It helps for me to look back on whenever I'm confused or sad.

Ok amen yes. This is what I thought but you put it into words better. If we were real "friends " I believe we would be together. I think reading other people's experience about being genuine life long friends with their ex's have just been confusing me. They are probably exceptions to the rule. All the past ex's I am polite with but we don't keep up like I would with my actual friends. I even told him I have enough friends I don't need to be friends with him - I would rather it be romantic or no…

Thanks for this perspective. I've never become real "genuine" friends with any guy I've developed feelings for. At best we are acquaintances that might hit each other up for random bits of advice/ friendly chit chat. Me and this guy had an intense but short relationship and I got too deep in my feels. I think it's a matter of time for me to pull out of it and then come back and revisit this whole "friends" angle. I know he wants to keep the connection more than I do, bc personally I think I'm th…

oh yeah we broke up like a month ago! and last week I told him I'm not keeping in contact with him anymore... at least for now! Waste of my time! Thanks for the advice :)

Hmm yeah I would think, like someone above said, if a guy is really into you and wants to make it work he will respect your desire to cut of his exs. This guy claims that he's very aware of his ego and is trying to do things without it? Like trying to act like the ego isn't there and he isn't afraid to make a fool of himself and I'm like??? I brought up all the points you said to him about keeping his exs around but again he justifies it by saying that he cares for all of them and likes them as …

Thank you! You have said all I needed to know 🙌 him keeping in touch with ex girls just seem icky to me. He keeps explaining that it's bc he cares and I'm like... He says it's my ego thats keeping me from reaching out to him but I'd like to think I have some self respect

Yup the moment I said "I don't see a point keeping a connection with you for now" we have not talked since. I know he watches my ig stories but doesn't follow me. We have something special but time will tell I guess 🤷‍♀️

Thanks for the Baggage Reclaim recommend! I've been trying to read more about relationships and attachment theory! Yeah he's someone who still keeps in touch with ex's because to him, "just because you stop a romantic relationship with someone, it doesn't mean you need to cut contact if genuine care is there" but I'm not sure about this. I don't agree with a lot of how he sees relationships but maybe that just makes us ultimately incompatible... He's the one who really wants to keep me in his li…

Yeah! Similar situation! I'm leaving to another city for school. We both care for each other. I think I fell in love so it's me trying to get out of love right now and trying to do me

Right!! This is my entire mentality rn. I believe we just need a break from one another to reevaluate our priorities

He was the one who initiated the break up and wanted to be friends but I just wanted a clean cut. I fell in way to deep in my feels but I know I can do better than him...but he has potential to be HV..? Is that a thing?

Thank you so much. This helps me frame it better in my mind. I guess bc the breakup is still fresh (been 1 month) and I'm still kinda feeling all sorts of emotions it's hard to see how being friends can serve me atm. From my perspective we never started this situation as just friends only so I guess I didn't see a point in maintaining a friendship? Like seeing him with a new girl rn would destroy me. Fuunny thing is I know I'm so much better than him in terms of career prospects, life experience…

It wasnt a "bad" break up at all. We both acknowledge that we are quite compatible but I guess I wanted to try more and he wanted to focus on himself first... Which is fair but I ain't sitting around waiting for him and I made that clear

Ok cool.. bc I did this. I was firm in cutting contact for the foreseeable future bc I didn't see the point. I was kinda a pickme and acted like a gf to someone to didn't want to be my bf so yeah... He's adament we can be good friends but I just can't see it... At least for now the emotions on my side is too raw

I still care for him bc obvs I was in love but he doesn't feel the same way. I'm not even sure he is high value now but I see him growing into a HVM? He just needs time? Or am I being delusional hahah
