What would you say about the direction and intensity of biases on this sub in relation to others? I’ve always felt this one handled different opinions better than most.

I’d say there’s a quantity vs quality aspect to it. More kids in an environment where the life expectancy of children is extremely low could be seen as a way to combat extinction through attrition. But in an environment where people regularly live to their 80’s, then having too many people around could be a problem. Automation could possibly be a way to care for the elderly population with fewer young people to care for them. Though, if where applying cold logic, it could be more practical to eu…

I understand why a woman who has done everything she can to bring a child into the world being accused of infidelity would suck. But your argument seems to rely on the idea that the woman is in fact not lying to her partner. The fact of the matter is, no matter how long people have been together or how much they claim to love each other, people can, and do, still lie. This isn’t even exclusive to one gender. Plenty of women will still want access to their partners socials or ask them to get an s…

I’d think at some point there has to be some direct education regarding what is and isn’t ok. No one comes out the womb with a fully formed set of morals and ethics.

This is the case with literally every labeled group. Take a single person from any group;feminist, redpill, incel, conservative, libertarian, socialist, whatever. I can guarantee that there will be some points both of you fully agree on. But, you may still take issue with their associated group. This is because that entire group is typically represented by a select few figure heads. Pair this with fact the most inflammatory of people and ideas tend to draw the most attention and you end up indiv…

I want to say 1 or 3, but given how many people (men and women) I’ve seen throw away both for 2, then I’d have to say physical perspective reigns supreme.

True, but I can’t say I see the typical signs of malice in this question like I’ve seen in other “soon men won’t need women” poor faith variations of this question.

I’m pretty sure they’re just wanting to know if women would choose to use an artificial womb or carry the baby themselves if given the choice. Reading into this as a “gotcha” revenge fantasy question seems like a bit of a stretch.

You hear about the situations where women don’t get child support because people are more likely to advertise discontent than satisfaction. If someone is getting child support, why would they talk about it?

To be fair, a lot of people who are pro abortion were in favor of the idea of forcing people to get the vaccine, even if they didn’t want to. This seems to make them just as selective as the anti abortion crowd on when to apply the notion of “my body, my choice”.

It shouldn’t be your responsibility to deal with assholes. But if for whatever reason you happen to be their target, then it is your problem. Is this fair? No. But life has a pretty consistent habit of being unfair.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but you seem to suggest that boys have to submit to this type of conditioning. That under no circumstances would a male child not want to be aggressive and stoic. And if they do deviate from this then it is simply the result of poor parenting rather than personal preference and personality. I personally disagree that every boy does, or even should, fit this universal mold.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/21 05:16 PM

So if this life style is necessary for healthy development, would you say risk taking and rough housing should be instilled in female children as well?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/21 03:19 PM

What if the boy in question simply doesn’t enjoy rough housing and is naturally risk avoidant? Should they learn to like it because it’s what is expected of them or are they doomed to be less than a man?

I’ve always been curious, how does paid sex relate to n-count, either as the escort or the client? Is it treated as any other sexual encounter or does it not count or is it considered a social faux pas or what? Though to answer your question, personally as long as the relationship is strong and there are no lingering feelings from past relationships, then I don’t care about another’s n-count.

As a guy, my purpose of a first date is to get to know my date. At this point, her and I are both strangers who may have talked a bit, but usually nothing beyond some general questions about each other and small talk. I’m interested in a potential relationship, or even quick fling, but I’m just there to find out if we even like each other, not impress her. And if showing off my willingness to spend big on, again, a stranger by this point is necessary for her to like me, then we know we’re not co…

Well, keep going until you find something that does go somewhere. Finding a good relationship is hard and it’s going to take a lot of effort, that’s how it works for everyone. Either that or just give up on relationships. Unless you’re fine playing the lottery and simply hoping who ever approaches isn’t going to screw you over.

Doesn’t mean it was a good decision. Slavery has been a staple of every powerful society throughout history but I think most people will agree that we should avoid this practice in the future.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/20 12:27 PM
1

These societies worked because only a small handful of those rich enough to have multiple wives engaged in polygamy, and even then inbreeding eventually became an issue for a lot of them because of low generic diversity. Plus the article even states that the Romans eventually enforced monogamy and witnessed net benefits due to this. I’m not saying polygamy can’t work at all, but I certainly believe in history it was less the result of a preferred lifestyle snd more the result of classism and a f…

Even if that us true, it still hurts the gene pool overall in the long term if so many women chase so few guys.

TIL that polygamy specifically refers to men with multiple wives
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/20 10:14 PM
14

Given the potential consequences of inbreeding, and how monogamy helps insure genetic diversity, I’d argue biology does prefer it. Though I mainly brought this up to contest the OP’s position the polygamy is a natural default. Now a days pretty much every argument I brought up is irrelevant so polygamy can certainly work.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/20 09:09 PM
39

Not Really. If only a handful of males are having kids with all the available females, then the options available to each generation while avoiding incestuous crossbreeding because smaller and smaller. For example, Let’s say a man impregnated 100 women resulting in 99 daughters and 1 son. That son wouldn’t be able to mate with anyone from his generation as they would all be siblings. But let’s say he finds a partner outside those 99 half-sisters. His kids won’t be able to mate with any of his si…

True, I was more trying to argue against the idea that polygamy is some sort of biological/historical equilibrium.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/20 08:39 PM
89

History has shown that monogamy has always worked best. Early humans preferred monogamy as it gave males confidences in there offspring being there own and gave females confidence in having a provider. The article itself states that civilizations saw improvements when monogamy was enforced. Hell, even biology prefers monogamy as it helps insure genetic diversity and grants higher chances of survival as the parents can devote all thier energy to protecting the relatively small batch of offspring …

Personally I could see myself with a small, frail, snowflake of a woman or an Amazonian with muscles that would put the She-hulk to shame. I feel the typical preference for women that are less imposing then men stems from the typical gender role that the man has to be the protective figure of the relationship. Whether this role is reinforced by a woman’s desire for a protector, a man’s desire to be a protector, both, or some other factor, I’m not sure.

I will say this till the day I die: FDS has had some genuinely good advice for women on how not to take crap, be assertive, and weed out people who wish to use and abuse them. FDS also has had several posts advising what I can only describe as sociopathic practices along with manipulation tactics and just general misanthropy. Like the red pill and MGTOW sources, it’s a lot of good advice sandwiched between pure contempt for the opposite sex.

Not acceptable in the sense of something you can proudly tell others you do, but more so in that the ramifications aren’t so extreme that people are still willing to risk the work or simply not care what others think.

/r/PurplePillDebate27/03/20 02:18 PM

Well, thinking for myself, it’s morally decent to stay faithful when in a committed relation since, by entering said relationship, you are entering a social contract to exclusively share intimacy with that person unless stated otherwise (open relationships, FWB, etc.). As for the toilet paper doomsday prepping, the likely hood of quarantines and city wide shutdowns grow more likely everyday, and toilet paper doesn’t expire, so why not stock up?

Still seems like a hazardous mindset to treat all men like they are dangerous until they can demonstrate blind, unwavering, obedience.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/20 12:16 AM
2

The last two sentences of your statement demonstrate my issue with FDS. The perpetuated idea that all men are inherently antagonistic to women and that women must beat men at this game of relationships rather than find someone they genuinely enjoy being around.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/20 10:29 PM
1

I just don’t see why relationships would be seen as mandatory life challenges rather than a way to improve ones life via sharing it.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/20 10:25 PM
1

How does choosing who you want to share intimacy, and possibly a life and family, with relate to having to fight for the respective country you were born to?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/20 09:58 PM
3

Honestly I see the Redpill in a similar fashion to FDS, sprinkles of good advice among out right contempt for the opposite sex. The fact they’re playing to “win” is the problem. I don’t think relationships are meant to be zero sum game challenges, and if they are, then what you want is a human pet, not a partner.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/20 09:47 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/20 09:55 PM

I’d probably be hesitant to disclose losing my virginity to an escort. I honestly don’t know to many guys who are entirely honest with their sexual history, at least at first. Most guys I’ve met will just say whatever they think will paint them in a positive light.

/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/20 07:49 PM

If they do, why not leave them? Trying to sway them to like you through extravagant favors seems like the “nice guy” tactic only in pursuit of commitment and validation rather than sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/20 07:02 PM
3

No, but they do both allow people to buy affirmation. “ Hey, do you want to be a real man/woman? Then prove it by buying an overpriced rock/ using products to look a way that is impossible to achieve naturally.”
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/20 02:49 PM

As a 23 year old, my entire life circles around going to work and sitting at home with little variance in between and no effort to pursue interactions with other people. How does that compare to how much effort people used to put into relationships and friendships?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/20 01:50 PM

I’ve seen the canine/feline comparison made between men and women constantly in the United States
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/20 01:39 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/20 01:09 PM

It could be argued that the large number of expensive cosmetics commercials targeted at women helps balance things out. Sure, they don’t always outright say “buy this for your man”, but they do encourage that you buy it to be more attractive to them.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/20 01:08 PM
10

Assuming they were mislead initially, why stay with them when their true colors show? It seems like they’re basically pulling the “nice guy” tactic hoping extravagant kindness will win them favor, only instead of sex they seek emotional validation and commitment.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/20 02:36 AM
130

It could be argued that your friends’ relationships are examples of the “girls only go for bad boys” stereotype. Have they ever tried to date guys that are as nice as they are?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/20 12:04 AM
1

Where does that whole “older guys are so sophisticated” mentality in younger women come from?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/20 08:41 PM
1

In this case, nice is defined as altruism for altruisms sake. Some who likes to help people for the warm fuzzies. Is a person like this seen as positively or negatively to you? Not in the sense of would you have sex with them, but would you genuinely enjoy their company or pity/be annoyed by them?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/20 02:58 PM
1

Then let’s say there’s a situation where someone is genuinely nice constantly simply because they enjoy helping others and making them happy. They would continue this behavior with anyone so long as that person didn’t betray the nice guy’s trust or do something the nice guy found morally reprehensible, at which point nice guy would break all contact with that individual. What would be your overall opinion of such a person?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/20 11:42 PM
1

The second description, only they act this way to everyone and do only do out of the joy of the act itself. Would this person be regarded as a person to you or just a tool? Or something else?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/20 10:49 PM
1

Why though?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/20 07:05 PM
1

Exactly what industry are you in?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/20 05:28 PM
3

From what I’ve seen, most people nowadays, myself included, just aren’t very confrontational in one-on-one interactions. If someone consistently is upset by my choices, I say just let them make the choices to avoid any issues. And if they grow tired of making choices, but still show disdain for mine, then that’s just a sign or relationship (platonic, romantic, or otherwise) just isn’t working out.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/20 05:26 PM

While the social stigma around virginity may be intense, I still believe the physical sensations of sex for first timers are greatly exaggerated.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/01/20 02:30 AM

And I’m not saying it doesn’t feel good, but it’s not this intense constant dopamine rush that people tend to hype it up as.

So you had sex and it was the trip of absolute euphoria or a mildly enjoyable session?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/01/20 01:58 AM

A) Yes, women may have difficulty getting wet when nervous, but even if they enjoy themselves enough to get wet, the sensations of sex are different from anything else to the point that actual sex, even when wet, may feel more odd than pleasurable the first time. Same for guys that can get hard but don’t finish. and B) When was the last time you gave a shit, or even wanted to know, about who someone else was fucking?

Alright, being rich is overrated. Sure you never want for any needs and you can obtain material possessions fairly easily, but there is copious amounts of legal responsibilities that come with large wealth. It is also surprisingly easy to lose an entire fortune, no matter how large, which means extensive and persistent care must be taken to maintain your wealth, least it all be lost on frivolous spending, vultures, and high end tax brackets. Long story short, being rich, like sex, has its benefi…

I mean countries are just imaginary borders we put on maps for easier navigation, money is just coupons that we assign fluctuating value to for simplified trade, and culture is just the typical behaviors associated with a group. So yeah, it is all effectively made up.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/19 10:31 PM

While I can certainly see how having the deck stacked against non conforming males can be disheartening, the facts for me remain that A) The exhaustion I felt trying to conform would assure that any relationship that came from it would still have me miserable anyway and B) I just like tits and ass on a female too much to go gay. So the search continues.

As one of the guys who finds being a dominating male archetype mentally exhausting, I still don’t want to give up on pursuing women. Sure, being gay would probably be easier, and my mannerisms have resulted in a few guys hitting on me, to which I told them I was flattered but unable to return the affection, but I still find myself preferring females for intimate companionship. Besides, if there are guys who don’t enjoy conforming to gender roles, then I know that there are women out there with s…

As far as I can tell, the terms are fairly vague descriptors for how well a guy is able to interact with the opposite sex. Why so much prestige and ridicule is placed onto these self appointed titles is beyond my understanding.

Male 23 No relationships I’d like to think that people who prefer to be around each other rather than apart could be considered romantic love. They have there own lives and like to have time to themselves on occasion, but the time they spend together is considered to be the best moments for them.

I’m pretty sure your experience is accurate to red pill philosophy. From my understanding, red pill states that women will be able to easily obtain sex due to the surplus of thirsty men. Meaningful relationships however are about as hard for a lot of women to get as it is for a lot of guys to get laid. So I’d say your story is normal for many young women.

Talking to the wrong guys. There are plenty of guys, myself included, who are perfectly fine with the woman being the breadwinner. Although from what I’ve been told on here, those kind of “men” are low value beta cucks so you may not want to associate with them.

If the guy was able to put up a convincing facade before doing a 180 degree personality flip, then no I don’t blame the woman. If the change was gradual, then it would technically be their fault for sticking around, however financial dependency, constant shifts in the guys personality, the sunk cost fallacy, and other factors could play into her sticking around longer than she should have. It’s less that men are explicitly undesirable and more that women are more desirable. True, so I suppose I’m referring more to sexual objectification. And to expand on that, you are still correct that all of us have lusted after, or been lusted after, by total strangers with little to no issue. I am aware that these dynamics have naturally arisen, but to force them on to everyone hinders those who don’t wish to follow these norms. Nowadays, if a woman pursues or a man acts passively, they are seen as other and berated/isolated for it. If the reinforcement of the normal dating dynamic is hurting certain people, why not eliminate it so everyone can approach or be approached at their own discretion?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/19 05:44 PM

I’m not in disagreement that natural sexual preferences exist, but I do believe that the reinforcement of these preferences, to the point they become societal standards, confines everyone to these roles and harms those who don’t have these natural preferences. If keeping the sex based standards harms some, and eliminating sex based standards helps everyone, why not eliminate the standard?

/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/19 03:58 PM
43

I think dating today has its issues. Personally I’d eliminate sex based expectations from dating. Let those who wish to pursue pursue and those who wish to be chased be chased with liberty to switch between these roles and other dating tactics. I feel the strict social dynamics we have based on sex (men pursue, women receive) is a bit constricting.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/19 03:17 PM
1

True, but I feel that, given passive female dating strategies, a lot of guys resort to objectifying pick-up lines because they initially have no information to work with other than her appearance. And by the time she’s willing to give up any personal information, the guy has likely started to view her as more of a prize to be won for saying the right things rather than an individual he’s interacting with.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/19 01:55 PM
1

I agree. I’m not stating that women enjoy objectification, rather that the current passive dating strategy women take indirectly encourages objectification. Ideally, in my opinion, you would be able to approach guys and not be ridiculed due to the oddity of the situation. As it stands, most women are willing embrace the demure, passive stereotype because, as you’ve experienced, the consequences of initiating can be brutal and most women seem willing to deal with the potential objectification rat…
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/19 12:42 PM
1

Not necessarily. I’m pretty sure I’ll never be happy, only momentarily content, and the fact that men see dating as this elaborate competition of masculinity and so willingly embrace the notion of objectifying women and feeling they have to dominate them certainly doesn’t help anyone. I made this post to present the argument that women are more willing to accept this indirect objectification through passive courting rather than face the consequences of being the first to initiate.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/19 02:59 AM
2

If you’re referring to subtle flirting tactics as women approaching, I’d argue that this tactic amplifies objectification of women as it only increases their sex appeal while doing nothing to demonstrate their traits as a unique individual. And believe me, if I based everyone’s interactions on my own, sex would be a myth, and the world would be full of nothing but paranoid, self-loathing, a-holes.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/19 02:48 AM
1

To the first point, I don’t believe anyone should be objectified, only that current courting norms encourage women into a passive role where they are seen less as individual humans and more as prizes. As for your friend, that is exactly why I feel the norms today as hazardous. A woman should be able to pursue on equal footing as men rather than be branded a slut for taking initiative. As it stands, woman are only seen as receptors of any affection a man is willing to give and if they make the fi…

/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/19 02:20 AM
1

Then what is the typical strategy for women?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/19 02:18 AM
1

I’m more than certain they do not want the objectification, I just think that the passive role women typically play in courting results in them being seen as agent-less and indifferent. Thus they are viewed as a prize to be won rather than a person to interact with. I’d also argue that they would rather utilize this stereotype, and the subsequent objectification, rather than deal with the potential consequences of initiating with guys.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/19 02:12 AM
1

I’d argue subtle flirting still adds the objectification dilemma. It just makes women seem like more of a sex object rather than a unique individual.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/19 01:53 AM
1

I’m just that by being the demand, and passively accepting that role, women end up being seen as nothing more objects to to be won rather than individual humans.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/19 01:51 AM
1

Again, true, I’m just arguing that the passive courting nature typically associated with women serves to encourage this mind set. I personally think it’s unfortunate that this line of thinking happens, but I do believe many women are willing to keep in line with this stereotype because it still proves simpler and more affective than having to pursue someone themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/19 01:38 AM
1

True, but it does subtly encourage, whether the person actively seeks it or not.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/19 01:32 AM
1

Not sure. It would probably require a significant shift in western dating culture since the issue seems to be perpetuated by all parties involved in one way or another. Honestly I mainly made this post to see if others thought this was an issue as well and, if so, was it one worth solving.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/19 01:31 AM
1

They may not want objectification, but they seem willing to accept a courting method that encourages it rather than deal with consequences of initiating themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/19 01:22 AM
1

I’m well aware that women don’t enjoy objectification, just that the current courting method of women passively waiting for men to approach encourages this mentality. As the designated “gay best friend” of many social circles in high school, and partially through college, you’d be surprised what women were willing to tell me about their “friends” and their attempts to initiate with guys. And yes, the pursuer doesn’t have to, nor do I encourage they, treat the person of their affection as an obje…
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/19 01:14 AM
1

Some women pay for it because it’s easier just pick from the pool of people looking for you rather than search for others. Although, if your looking for quality, Tinder may be the wrong place to look.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/19 12:47 AM
2

Honestly, I’d prefer that standards change for women’s sake. While yes, being the pursued is easier in someways, it does present the problem of many women being seen more as prizes and property rather than fellow human beings. It also makes courting more difficult for women who wish to initiate or men who aren’t as proactive. Also, even as socially inept as I am, I am well aware that posts like this function more as pussy repellent if anything.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/19 12:45 AM
1

Sure it doesn’t happen every time, but having an environment where female initiation is encouraged could lower the likely good of sexual objectification as both men and women are seen more as equals rather than prizes in the dating scene.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/19 12:38 AM
1

Yes, and if you pay for their membership, they let you see and match with those that swiped right on you. And since guys always swipe right, women have an abundance of options.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/19 12:28 AM
1

What would you consider to be quality men? And if those men counter your desire to approach, why not change your quality standards?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/19 12:23 AM
1

I agree, but I also believe that the method of pursuit used, which is women waiting passively for a man to approach them, encourages objectification.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 11:47 PM
2

True, but these occur later in relationships. The original argument mainly pertains to the initial courting stages, though the mentality developed at the initial stage may affect the relationship down the line.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 11:44 PM
1

The argument is that, because he doesn’t know your personality, his only basis of attraction is how you look. Since the courting process for most women is to just present themselves and let guys approach them, thus creating a competition amongst males for the prize of the passive agent-less female, it encourages a mentality of seeing women as objects to obtain rather than individual humans to interact with.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 11:39 PM
2

The way most sites work, they’ll show you who liked your profile for a fee or ,on sites like Tinder, show you for free if you make a female profile. Then you just pick from the likes to immediately match them.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 11:29 PM
1

Exactly.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 11:17 PM
2

Because most women don’t have to swipe, they just make the profile and pick from the many, many potential matches they will likely receive. And even if they go out with friends, if someone attractive does show up, she’s still going to expect the guy to make the first move and seduce her while she just sits there.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 11:16 PM
1

I’d argue the current method of pursuit encourages objectification.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 10:33 PM
2

She doesn’t know if he’s only interested in her appearance, but she’s likely not giving him any other reason to be attracted to her. In online dating, from what I’ve seen, most women’s profiles consist of a single sentence and some photos. For introductions through friends, that’s, again, attraction based on personality, not a blind approach. And no, I don’t believe women think all me are shallow, but the current popular dating trends do a good job of attracting the shallow ones.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 10:32 PM
1

So dating, especially online dating, is pretty shallow for both sides?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 10:24 PM
2

And I’d agree, which is why I don’t get the sit-and-wait approach women usually take rather than initiating with a guy. It gives no knowledge regarding the woman to the man other than her appearance, yet he’s still expected to go through the traditional courting and seduction process with his attraction only being fueled by how good she looks. It seems counter intuitive to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 10:21 PM
1

You and I must be seeing different profiles. All I’ll see are a handful of Instagram photos and a Snapchat/Instagram username in the description.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 10:09 PM
1

Online dating is arguably the pinnacle of western dating practices as a majority of women there put virtually no effort into profiles that rack up tons of matches. The can even get a number of guys to carry entire conversations for them while providing nothing but one word responses. It’s the definition of objectification as guys will have literally nothing to work off of other than some pictures in most cases.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 09:44 PM
1

Which is why I feel that this type of courting strategy hurts everyone. The only men who will ever approach are the stereotypical male archetypes, e.g., those that would feel emasculated by performing “feminine” tasks.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 09:24 PM
1

From what I can see, lots of guys have this problem, and everyone suffers for it.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 09:20 PM
2

For the initial question, her simply approaching me and us divulging some information through casual conversation would exemplify her initiating. I’ presumably know more about her than just her physical appearance and don’t see her as only a person of potential sexual interest. Maybe I see her now as a potential platonic friend. Bottom line, her value to me extends past her sex appeal. As for the rest, yes the woman in your example may be at the bar for courting or simple dining, but the current…
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 09:16 PM
1

And by making it the mans job to speak up, what does the woman do to present any kind of agency or worth as a human past sex appeal?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 08:58 PM
1

Probably not, but both sets of women initiate courting in the same passive manner so it can be hard to tell who’s who.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 08:57 PM
2

True, but I’d think by taking the passive role you are somewhat encouraging the objectification. If a women initiated conversation with me, yes I’ll find her attractive, but also take her agency and personality into account. If I initiate engagement with a women, I’m definitely only doing so with her appearance as motivation as I have no other information about her.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 08:46 PM
1

I do approach viewing courting/mating rituals with an emotionally detached, over analytic viewpoint so the alien analogy isn’t to far off. My argument for the rest is that because women will usually only respond the the advances of men rather than initiate, they demonstrate a preference for objectification over being seen as an equal for their personality and skill set. This ultimately leads to them only being seen as a prize to be won.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 08:35 PM
1

I can see that, but from what I’ve seen, presenting nothing but their physical appearance makes their value as eye candy seem like their only redeeming quality.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 08:26 PM
6

The issue I see is that women will typically only present these aspects of herself after the male has proven to be interesting enough to be worth divulging this information to. If she deems them unworthy, she simply rejects them. Before that, it’s usually nothing but a display of her physical appearance with the intent to entice men.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 08:22 PM
2

To the first part, I feel that women don’t pursue not only because of potential rejection, but because they usually do not need to when men are so willing to approach them. To the second part, assuming your referring to things like dressing attractively or acting coy when approached, I’d argue these acts are more likely to result in objectification. When a women approaches a man and initializes courting, she is having to present her personality to the guy. If she simply sits there and lets her a…
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 08:18 PM
3

In regards to online dating, women can take an extremely passive approach of simply making a profile and letting the likes flow in while guys have to work to impress them. To the second point, while yes, in your instance the intent was platonic, you where pursuing them based mainly on their personality. Objectification would be pursuing someone based solely on their appearance, seeing them more as a desirable commodity than a person.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 08:10 PM
1

Men feeling the need to constantly display value and prestige to be appealing to women and women being seen as nothing more than a prize to be won thus potentially removing any respect towards them as a human being.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 08:05 PM
3

Fair enough, but on average the female approach to dating is “look pretty and wait”. When they are first approached by a guy, they will typically wait for them to impress her before providing any personal insight past her looks. She is effectively presenting herself as a window display and nothing else to potential partners while a guy has to make themselves seem interesting right off the bat. Again, this certainly doesn’t apply to everyone.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 08:00 PM
1

Would you say the benefits of this sex based pursuer-receiver courting strategy outweighs the negatives for both sides?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/19 07:53 PM
4

Being seen as an item to interact with rather than a person. For example, if you see someone attractive and couldn’t care less about what their personality is. Your only concern is that they are aesthetically appealing, similar to seeing a pornstar online.

Do I feel that people should be free to express themselves sexually? Yes Do I feel that that, like all good things, sex should be enjoyed in moderation? Yes The issue I take with public slut shaming is it takes the idea of serving as a moral influence a bit to far. Instead of getting the message across that women should express caution with promiscuity (protection, making sure partners are safe to be with, not letting sex consume your life, etc.) it just shames and humiliates then to excessive d…

/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/19 02:27 PM

In regards to the female friends question: no. As for the rest, my skills in seduction have proven lacking to put it kindly. As a guy am I always expected to be the initiator, cause if so I may very well just be screwed.

Well then my question is two fold: A) Why do people enjoy the risk? The guess work involved with this just seems like undo stress and irritation rather than “fun”. B) Why do people still complain about the undesirable outcome of a game they willingly played but could have avoided by being direct?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/19 11:40 AM
1

Yet people will still complain when their refusal to be straightforward doesn’t pan out for them?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/19 02:32 AM
1

I feel like this mentality sets a dangerous precedent of women being prizes to be won and nothing more. It seems to create the image that a women’s sole purpose is to be this agent less entity only there to be coveted by which ever male “ wins them”. I always thought this was a mentality most wanted to get away from.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/19 02:01 AM
1

What I mean is I get flirting, I just get why it’s a thing people do, never mind enjoy. The whole guessing game concept behind finding out someone’s desires and intentions just seems like unnecessary stress and irritation. Though, to be honest, I don’t really like stress and uncertainty in any capacity so this may just be a me thing. If a woman gave me “hints” as to what they want, I’d likely miss them where as if any woman just directly asked “do you want to be friends/ go out some time/ eat me…
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 09:55 PM
1

I do, I just think it’s odd to use flirting over direct statements. If you want a casual hook-up, why jump through so many hoops just to state your intentions? Especially when so many people complain of being blindsided by misreading someone’s intentions.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 09:33 PM
1

“Hey, you seem nice, want to go on a date?” or “Hey, you seem nice, want some action back at my place?” Or if an early relationship “I’m wanting this to be a casual hook-up/ long term thing/ friendship just so you know”
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 09:12 PM
1

Fair enough, but what is your opinion of situations where someone feels slighted because they misread someone’s intentions or their own were misunderstood?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 09:04 PM
1

It just seems like the risks of ambiguous flirting would outweigh the excitement of it. And personally I fail to see the excitement in flirting to begin with.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 08:53 PM
1

By upfront I mean direct statements as to what you want. For example: if you want to be exclusive with someone, say that instead of trying to guess whether or not they are seeing other people. I guess what I fail to understand is how people see guess work as “fun”. Just seems stressful and irritating to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 08:46 PM
1

Which is what confuses me. I’ve lived in the U.S. my whole life and it seems to me that early stages of “are we or aren’t we” are rife with opportunities to end poorly due to someone misinterpreting another’s intentions. So why not just eliminate the potential for problems from the very beginning?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 08:33 PM
1

But my question is why have ambiguity at all. Is the thrill of mystery enough to override the chance of misunderstanding? And why does it seem that those who even attempt a direct initial approach are ostracized for it?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 08:28 PM
1

I can understand trial and error to discover what it is you actually want, I just don’t hear of people saying what they want even after they know. At least not in any direct way.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 08:22 PM
1

Bit harsh, but I think I get the idea.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 08:19 PM

It just seems to me that this type of mentality is more likely to lead to problems due to delusions and unmet expectations.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/19 08:11 PM

Bare in mind, depending on the context of the pregnancy, other emotions will typically overwrite any arousal I may feel. Based purely on looks, I typically find both at…

And by “directly” I don’t mean subtle questioning about what their looking for or telling them what your not looking for, but a clear “I’m looking for a long term relationship” statement to their face on the first date if not during introductions. Yes, this may not be the sexiest approach, and yes, this will turn some people away, but if you want something serious, then you have present your intentions in a serio…

This pretty much confirms that for all the discussion that goes on here, at first glance if I met any of the guys irl I’d think “yeah, they fuck”, and if I met any of the gals I’d think “yeah, I’d fuck’em”.

I’m assuming the word meant to be there is unobtainable but yes, when one side is told they can do be whatever they want and the other side is told to just stay in their lane it can be a bit frustrating. For example, let’s say two people are looking for a job. One person is told that they can apply for any position, including positions well suited to their preexisting skill sets, and the other is told they can only apply as a robotics engineer. If the second person doesn’t have the natural aptit…

I think the main issue stems from the fact that women are encouraged to break gender dynamics, go for what they want, and strive for personal happiness above all else. Meanwhile men are pretty much mandated to stick to gender roles, see every women as a goddess, and place the whims of others over their personal needs. And if your personality just so happens to run contradictory to the dominate, leader type alpha male stereotype, welp sucks to be you you worthless waste of biological material.

I feel like this is indicative of a greater issue of people who don’t get attention as easily as others creating self fulfilling prophesies. From how you described yourself, you seem like someone I (23m) would be interested in, yet I’m certain if we met in person I would never express that interest under the impression that you were just way out of my league and had guys lined up waiting to just talk to you.

Probably those negatively affected by their hypocrisy.

It’s not that guys don’t get this. It’s just that for most guys who receive little to no attention, the idea of casual sex, however unfulfilling, is better than nothing. It’s basically a matter of the grass being greener on the other side.

The issue with these types of conversations is that it will usually devolve into a suffrage based dick measuring contest where one side must justify their suffering as greater than the other. Yes, drowning in unwanted attention and being constantly objectified sucks. Yes, being starved for intimacy and relying on the unlikely whim of others for any attention sucks. Men don’t take these factors into account because, for me at least, while drowning is certainly suffering, after years of dehydratio…

True, but to assume some new method of treatment would exist by the time the old method stopped working due to overuse, rather than taking measures to avoid infection in the first place, seems like a bit of a gamble.

I’m pretty sure medical treatment of wide spread bacterial infections is a bit more complicated than “lol, just do something else” and hoping for the best.

As long as we get along, absolutely. I’m already pretty passive as is and as such aren’t to fond of the idea of having to act as this ever dominating force in a relationship.

The celibacy/death choice was more of a way of saying that people are usually willing to pursue great risk just to get laid. Pregnancy counter measures can and do fail, which if this is the situation I’d say is an argument in favor of welfare programs as these people took precautions yet still got unlucky. For instances where people are either raped or simply have unprotected sex regardless of consequences, I stand by my previous statements.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/19 09:12 PM

While I see, and agree with, your logic, this assumes that the threshold of suffering to convince people to stop having sex actually exists. I’m pretty sure there are many people where if given the choice between a slow painful death and a life of celibacy, they’d chose the former without hesitation. While the current welfare system certainly has issues, the reality is irresponsible/non-consensual pregnancies aren’t going anywhere any time soon, and if the options are give money to people and ho…

Which is perfectly fine, but I think the issue is that there are many instances where the woman doesn’t move on and instead becomes angry towards the man for failing to notice their signals, which seems a bit unfair in my opinion.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/19 01:32 PM

I can understand if a woman wants a man that can identify social cues. I think the issue arises when a woman berates the man for failing to pick up on them. If you send signals, they don’t act on them, and you lose attraction, fine. But by not being direct you kind of forfeit the right to complain about them not expressing romantic interest in you.

That last bit seems a bit odd. Not sure how you’d incorporate topics dealing with biology and psychology into mathematic and technology fields. I’d still sign though.

Some people here would argue that marriage rates for average guys are because of the eventual realization women come to that they will want to settle down eventually. After going after “Chad” for their early years, women will then settle for an average, yet financially stable husband to help them financially and maybe raise the child(ren) they had had with “Chad”. This leads to the idea of ”betas” which are men only used for their resources with no real intimacy in the relationship and sex being…

On a personal note, no, I’m not expecting an attempt to be flirtatious to end with social crucifixion, but my worries about retribution have effectively crippled my ability to pick up on subtle hints women may or may not send my way. While we’re at it, why is subtle flirting a thing with women rather than just a blunt statement anyway?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/19 03:04 AM

Both. Myself, and most guys I know, have grown up with the narrative that just because a woman shows you attention it does not mean she’s into you, which is perfectly fine. But we’ve also been taught that any unwanted advances on to a women will likely be seen as threatening and deemed harassment. Any form of harassment nowadays is typically presented on social media for the world to judge and criticize, including family, friends, employers, strangers, etc. This means any interpretations of a wo…

I don’t know how flirting worked in your generation, but as an early 20 something, I can tell you that now a days, nothing short of a verbal confirmation of attraction delivered through a megaphone at no more than 5 feet away will get the point across to most guys.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/19 01:30 AM

It’s less “they don’t like aggression” and more “they’re completely caught off guard” for most guys. When girls out right told me they liked me, I was thrilled, but also terrified as I didn’t want to do anything to scare them off. This would lead to me becoming hyper aware of my actions to the point of inevitably doing something to cause them to leave. I’m certain most, if not all guys you come on to are either incredibly nervous or just a bit paranoid at the unexpected situation.

Yes, the way I present myself will vary from situation to situation, but the general premise of who I am will remain the same. I’m fairly reserved and don’t initiate encounters but try to present myself as available to solve problems. If I saw a puppy, I’d approach it, if it seemed to desire my attention, and interact with it in any way that elicited a positive response. If my boss needed something from me, I’d ask what they needed and proceed to execute what ever task was given to me. In both c…

Only if you stay where you are. Cutting costs (lowering desire for sex) or moving to a different apartment (seeking out people with similar sexual desires) are both options. And yes, I know that both of these options still require more effort than just naturally suiting the environment, but what other option is there. I’m a male introvert who never initiates conversations in an environment where males are expected express confidence and initiative to even start a relationship. I know my options …

"Projecting animosity towards men purely because of they refuse to comply with your expectations of monogamy and commitment seems a bit unfair". I whole heartedly agree with this statement. If a woman wants commitment, find someone looking for the same, even if they are in short supply. While I do find it bothersome that my options to obtain my favorite candy are so limited, I…

I know I’m gonna sound like a stereotypical incel saying this, but stories like this, while insightful, are a bit demoralizing. It seems dating is heavily reliant less on letting your own personality out, and finding someone you like and who likes you, and more about ones skill in seduction. And as someone who is not much of a social initiator or has a single ounce of flirtatious charm in their body, this only furthers the doom and gloom mentality of me spending the rest of my days starved for i…

As a six foot tall, relatively large black guy I think it’s bs that most people will visibly flinch when I walk past as if I’m going to kill them where they stand. That doesn’t mean I’m any less sympathetic to the dangers women, and pretty much everyone, face.

Personally, I’ve found that my sex drive plummets in do-or-die situations, but I’d say your numbers are fairly accurate given enough time and with consent. I’d imagine ( or at least hope ) fewer people would have sex with them by force.

I’m gonna have to disagree pretty hard with radical feminists on that last statement. I’ve seen interactions play out in fairly exclusive female environments. And I’ve come to find out that power dynamics, aggression, and general a-hole behavior, while usually expressed differently by females, is still very much present. I’ve never understood where this “males are the only ones able to express the follies of human nature” mentality came from.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/19 06:06 PM

And that’s the part that confuses me. This idea suggests that, no matter the circumstances, the simple act of something going inside of you is nothing short of absolute subjugation and nothing else.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/19 05:56 PM

I certainly see that as an issue, but I think the problem there stems from the female being used as property. If they were both consenting adults in a fair marriage, would the act of sex still be rape?

Assuming this is for an academic study, you really might want to do more research on gender political subreddits. Not to say some insight can’t be gained here but I certainly hope this isn’t your only information source.

So this has concerned for a while. I’m pretty passive in that, unless I explicitly need to do something, I’ll just hang out in my apartment when not at work. I’ll go out if someone invites me to something but will pretty much never initiate an activity myself. Is this a dealbreaker for most or am I just looking to much into this?

I’m sorry but my biggest complaint with this is the uninspired box art. It looks like a generic cartoon clip art woman set to a town background. Couldn’t have done a rule 63 Mr. Monopoly or a Industrial Age style woman in a top hat or bowler hat or something more creative?

I’d argue most women are just as clueless for when to initiate sexual interest as men, just in terms of when to be more blunt or how clear their intentions actually are. For every story of someone coming on to strong to soon, there’s just as many, if not more, stories of someone failing to pick up on “hints” ( which usually amount to incredibly vague, non-specific gestures).
