You become Eskimo brothers and your friendship attains new heights. If it's done between your friend and her who cares? If you're really worried, tell him what's up and see where he stands.

Nah, they make moves sometimes. I'm pretty garbage with women and generally suck at approaching and escalating and even I've had women basically drag my oblivious ass into seeing what's up.

I actually know a guy who this happened to - he was 22 saying he was 18, she was 16 saying she was 18. Luckily the age of consent where I'm from is 16, but he did not live that one down.

Here are a few that have caught my interest, some of which I've pursued, others I haven't but would like to. Some are more social than others Drawing Fishing Hiking/Camping (more long trail/backcountry style, bring some friends) Wood carving/wood working Biking Knitting Yoga Basic car maintenance Shooting/hunting (Join a club) Programming Sailing/rowing (try finding a local club so you don't have to buy your own boat, most clubs are very social with lots of drinking if that's what you're into) D…

It's definitely not what I think of as a traditional hobby but if you find it to be a nice way to while away the time don't worry about whether or not it fits the definition. I think of most hobbies as requiring some manual or technical skill whereas Tinder/dating in general is a social skill. Either way, you do yo.

Portuguese and Italian are both romance languages, so if you know one it's very easy to pick up another. When I was in Spain I met a group of Italians and Spanish folk who were able to understand each other pretty easily, and me knowing French allowed me to follow the general gist of the conversation. I don't really have any advice, but i don't think he was lying about not knowing the language, he just has a really solid base on which to learn it.

Nobody 'makes' you feel anything. You are in control of how you react to situations and it's quite possibly the only thing in the world you really have any control over at all. I'm certainly no seduction pro but step 1 is to stop feeling sorry for yourself and blaming women for your problems. Once you own your issues you can start working them.

Many people through-hike the AT, and even more do sections of it. It's one of the most well known trails in North America.

If you really want to know, read 'Daring Greatly' by Brene Brown. That book is where all of this vulnerability talk came from. Or watch her TED talk.

You're not being racist at all - from a white person. Moshing isn't something all white people do, it's more of a thing to do at hardcore punk/rock/metal shows than E.D.M shows. It's a part of subcultures that perceive themselves as being tough and not caring about pain, and it's also a way to release stress by hitting and smashing into people without repercussion so long as you abide by informal mosh rules. Many non-white people mosh, but it is a predominantly white thing to do. As to why peopl…

The sidebar over on /r/meditation is a helpful resource if you're interested. But be warned, it can be a little hippy-dippy in the rest of the sub.

You can actually reduce the physical size of the amygdala and its connectivity to the rest of the brain using meditation. There's solid evidence of this using fMRI and tons of studies have been done on its effectiveness. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3485650/ https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/guest-blog/what-does-mindfulness-meditation-do-to-your-brain/ http://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2012/11/meditations-positive-residual-effects/

It doesn't imply anything, it's just a lighthearted joke. I say this sometimes to friends who are doing something inconsequential that obviously won't require any luck.

If it takes a week to recover, that's fine. The next time it might only take six days. Over time, you might even have trouble getting sore at all. That soreness is good damage being done to your muscles, with your muscles growing larger and stronger as they repair themselves. An old home push-up routine I used to do was do as many push ups as I could, up to 25, then rest for 30 seconds to a minute. Repeat three more times. In about two months I was able to do four sets of 25.

Another good resource is the /r/meditation sidebar. And for the skeptics out there, there are scientific studies (many of which are cited in the aforementioned sidebar) backing up the effectiveness of meditation for increased focus, promoting growth of grey matter in the brain, and relaxation, among other things. It can also be a completely secular practice that involves no incense, mantras, spiritual/moral beliefs, or any of the other stereotypes you may harbour. I've been meditating for about …

I think it's a blend of both - Most guys are probably pretty proud of overcoming a big fear of their life for the first time and they want to tell people which I think is understandable, if a little self-serving. At the same time, I think it helps those of us who haven't crossed that threshold yet by saying "Look! I was just like you less than 24 hours ago, and now I think I can do it, and so can you." Having these peppered throughout the sub serve as little boosters for the total newbs such as …

It means that you are receiving an ego boost from the fact that someone likes you, and only because that person likes you. It's not always a bad thing, for example it's probably good to feel some validation from your friends and family because you are probably reciprocating and it's a mutual exchange of platonic love, but to spend time with someone for the single reason that they make you feel good, and they only make you feel good because you know they like you, is not a healthy form of relatio…

Just to riff on this, today I was working on a group project with a couple of good looking girls and my mom texted me a few times in a row. One asked "Who is that, your girlfriend?" to which I should have replied "Yeah, one of them", or something along those lines. Instead I didn't think quickly enough and just said it was my mom.

Good banter and playfulness is what I'm trying to work on and it's so important. When I think back on great interactions I've had with women, it usually involves some sort of fun, back and forth teasing game. And I'd say both men and women love banter. It shows intelligence, wit, and a sense of humour which are all attractive qualities to have in a person.

I've had similar exercises prescribed to me by a physiotherapist. The chin tuck means that as you move your head back there should be no change in the angle of your head, as in no tilting up or down. The chin should tuck naturally.

The internet doesn't convey tone well. I meant you gave a remarkably detailed and professional answer that was completely unexpected in this context and basically shut down OP's suggestion that 'wide eyes' could at all be beneficial for seduction. Apologies if you thought I was taking a shot at you.

/r/meditation - Read the FAQ. And there are more benefits to meditation than being able to live in the present moment such as improved memory, a reduction in anxiety, better social awareness, and a bunch of other good stuff.

Thanks, this is reassuring. I can't stand texting, including friends and family, for anything more than basic information. If I want to talk, I'll call or meet up in person. I often take hours to get back to people who text, usually under the assumption that if it were really important, they'd call. So it's nice to know that my sloppy texting habits might actually be a benefit. Of course, I'd put in a little more effort for a girl I cared about.
