Filed todayI know exactly what you’re describing, I’m 2+ years out and it gets easier. I know that doesn’t help today, but you need to remember: these feelings you’re going through right now, will pass. Get through today, and do that a hundred times. The strength and size will diminish over time. Good luck friend. | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/03/25 08:47 PM
Filed todayThis is a huge step for you, it’s gonna be uncomfortable and at times, unbearable. This is not some momentary decision, you’ve thought about it a thousand times. Go outside, move, run, fucking whatever, calm the mind. Breath, your gonna be jest fine… in time. | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/03/25 08:26 PM
How screwed am I?I can’t even imagine navigating that situation. I hope for you my friend. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/03/25 01:11 PM
After 20 years she blindsides me with “i dont want to be married anymore”Sarcasm… it’s absolutely devastating. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/03/25 11:13 PM
After 20 years she blindsides me with “i dont want to be married anymore”Women are predisposed for severance. It’s pretty amazing to witness first hand. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/03/25 09:32 PM
How does the dumper feel?I think people deal with trauma differently. Her coping will not be the same as yours. If I might suggest, stop giving any time or attention to what she’s doing for a while. It can only be destructive to your healing. Any info about my ex only prolongs my recovery. Doesn’t have to be forever, but like some say: time and space can give clarity. Good luck and be sure you take good care of yourself. I hope for you. | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/02/25 12:44 AM
How the FuckIi believe you’ll be okay, and probably better for it. Anger is a part of love, the tail end of it anyway. You’re not alone, most everybody that has loved and lost has gone through some or all parts of what you’re experiencing. Sounds cliche, but time will deaden that overwhelming never ending angry thoughts. And you’ll be whole again. Be patient my friend and hold on. Goes without saying: Take care of yourself. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/02/25 11:38 PM

LinkedIn request from exSometimes sacrificing a relationship is worth peace of mind. I’m in a similar divorce situation, it took 2+ years to get back to some sort of mental normalcy. I wouldn’t risk it if it were me. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/02/25 11:49 PM
What will divorced life look like?If I were you? I’d stay till she starts working. If you divorce now, you probably will have about the same overhead, plus whatever your new place costs. Divorce will severely set you back for a long while depending on what state you live in. I’m in California, and it would fiscally set me back to zero for at least a decade if not two. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/02/25 10:17 PM
Gentlemen, I have a dating question.Go, dip a toe in. Doesn’t have to be along term thing. I’m in a similar situation, been hesitant to get out there. But have recently, shoulda started sooner. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/02/25 02:35 AM
LA divorce Lawyer AdviceMan here, no kids with ex and together we made around the same income. Law offices of Anna Barsegian, she handled my divorce. It was a pretty straight forward divorce, what was hers, she kept and vice versa. She had two kids prior to me. I think it ended up costing me a little over six thousand, maybe six and a half. I think her hourly was $400? Not sure. I really appreciated her honesty and clear communication. The legal part was pretty cut n dry. Good luck to you friend. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/02/25 11:52 PM

I am really sad for the men that do family activities with the SBTXWSometimes, I guess. Are you in a sad little apartment, or is your ex tormented? Either way, sounds a bit twisted. Therapy is real, maybe look into it? | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/02/25 04:17 AM

Dating is so much work!Ladies, I think, I have it a lot easier. Especially if they check off a lot of boxes. These days, it’s a s**t show for men, I’ve stopped caring. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/02/25 01:52 AM

Sex drive messed up after separating. It’s trauma and it takes time, even if you think you’re over it. I believe, in time, you’ll be okay. I don’t think most men understand how complex the mind/heart are and how they mend. I’ve been separated/divorced over 2 years(50 years old) and everyone I know tells me I need to get under somebody to get over them, but it’s just not that simple. I think your libido will rebound, it’s not about your physical, it’s your mental and there’s no measure of that. I have faith you’ll be okay, just as I … | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/02/25 06:00 AM
divorced, living along for the first time in 15+yearsGood answer, it takes time to be empowered. Some bounce back quickly, others take years. Don’t be too hard on yourself… | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/02/25 06:23 PM
Found out my wife is a garbage human.I think you know what you have to do, it’s not going to be easy. But in the long run it will be what’s best to preserve your peace. Good luck my friend. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/02/25 05:33 AM
Why would you recommend against marriage?Divorced and regret it. Marriage is a full time job and I don’t like working. I’ll take loneliness over compromise any day of the week. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/09/24 03:50 AM
DatingSame, except two years separated and a month divorced. Enjoying the space and time alone. Sometimes feel lonely, but I just push through. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/09/24 12:46 AM
