Not to mention spreading AIDS or hepatitis. And the awful toll the PEP meds can take.

I feel like I'm a pretty good gift giver and I find it hard to think of what to get my dad because whatever he wants he just buys himself at a higher price point than I can afford. My mum and brothers also find it really difficult. Since I moved out I figured the most important thing is memories and time together so now I buy experiences. We've done whisky tasting, gin distillery tours, interesting restaurants and guided bushwalks. He absolutely loves it and tells everyone about them, they've ma…

When guys find out I'm very ticklish (somehow it comes up in conversations with guys?? But never with women) they want to tickle me and I'm like don't, because I will flail around and I'll probably hit you, and then they tickle me and have the audacity to be shocked and upset when they get an elbow to the face. How about just don't fucking tickle me, it's not like being tickled is enjoyable. And even if it was I told you not to.

He's gross cos he isn't clean. If he cleaned up after himself and washed his hands and the bed linen he's been farting in it'd be different but he's not. My partner can't wear normal deodorant cos it gives him really bad dermatitis, he wears the natural stuff but it doesn't really 'work'. He's vigilant about showering and washing his clothes after wearing them etc so even if at times he has a slight smell I don't find him disgusting at all. Cos he's clean and makes an effort and beyond that he c…

It's all about what she does for him. Nothing about sharing life together, special moments or achievements or anything that isn't 'how you affect me'. Sure stuff like "you're my best friend and waking up next to you is my favourite part of the day" can be corny but at least there's emotion there!!

Exactly - dating can show you things like 'wow, I knew I probably wouldn't work well with an indoors-y type person, but now I know that I need to be with someone who wants to get outdoors on the weekend because having an argument every week on what we're going to do is exhausting and I feel disappointed and unhappy if I want to go for a walk on Saturday and my partner wants to lie in bed until 2pm'. It also teaches you that you can't date potential and people don't change. You are at an advantag…

I think it is worth dating if it's something you want to do, as it teaches you a lot about yourself and what you want in a partner. You wouldn't know how to design a kitchen if you didn't know how to cook! If you're aware of your personal wants and deal breakers and what kind of person you naturally mesh with, when the right HVM for you comes along he'll be easier to recognise. Don't settle - but don't hold yourself back.

My shitty ex was tall and would stride ahead of me every chance he got. I once told my current bf that he was a perfect height because he would keep pace with me, and he burst out laughing "no it's because I want to walk next to you? I'm not going to walk off ahead cos I'm not a massive arsehole? Who would do that??"

I only saw it happen 'properly' once in my uncle, who lost his first wife less than 1 yr after they married at 33yrs in a shocking accident that was a national tragedy, over 100 people died. It took him years to move on and he married my aunt at 43 when she was 30. They had kids soon after, and now 20yrs later he's been semi retired for a while so she's able to pursue her high powered career as he organised the kids stuff, he is very into health and fitness and cooks all the family dinners and t…

I absolutely identify with this, I was having a fight via text with my ex about something so idiotic (he'd hurt his foot and didn't want to go anywhere but I was sick of not doing anything for weeks and I was trying to figure out if he could get an uber to a restaurant or if it was beyond his physical abilities) and he got shitty with me and I had this intense moment of clarity where I realised that I was trying so hard to have a romantic night while he was angry at me because his friends had la…

Absolutely, like I don't think you can be a good father and cheat on your wife. It is a betrayal of your family as a whole. It's putting your sexual wants above the safety and emotional needs of your children.

People who say that just flat out have no idea what they're talking about. I used to be a therapist for a beautiful little boy from ages 3-7, he was non-verbal autistic. His parents were wonderful people. The whole thing left me terrified of having such a disabled child. They had very little money, zero free time to themselves, no social life, no holidays, the mother had no career, and they had no idea what would happen when he grew up to be taller and stronger than them, nor what would happen a…

It's okay to feel sad! Of course you feel sad. If the sadness is heavy and interrupting your daily life I found it very helpful to decide on a 15min time slot per day, and in that time allow myself to feel every bit of sadness, every bit of feeling, to really indulge in it and explore how deep it goes. After the 15min is up then stop. Though the day, if feelings well up, push them down and think 'I'll feel this at 7pm'. The other things that's important is to reclaim things. Anything that remind…

Years back when I was on tinder a guy pushed to go on a date quickly without much back and forth beforehand and that sounded ok to me because I was SO sick of the whole 'how was your day' 'fine' bullshit daily text dance that goes nowhere, so I agreed and we went to a coffee shop. We were talking about a tv show we both liked and he immediately started pressuring me to go back to his place (a short walk 🚩) and we could watch an episode. My gut was screaming at me so I kept turning him down and s…

A week after breaking up with my LVM ex, I was walking to the train station and had a moment of clarity where i KNEW he'd one day be divorced. I wasn't even thinking about him consciously, it came out of nowhere but it came with 110% conviction. I was already well and truly over him but I think my brain had enough time to step back a bit and fit all the patterns of behaviour together.

Quartz is a 7 on moh's scale which means that daily wear will chip, scratch and haze the surface of the stone. Diamonds (lab or natural), sapphires and rubys are 9. Which is why these stones are chosen for engagement rings. This quartz ring will look terrible within a year. From purely a price perspective this is a dumbass move as it'll need a lot more upkeep, polishing and probably the stone replaced a few times.

(this is not an attack on you) whenever I hear of these events I always avert my eyes from looking at a photo of the perp and try to not read their name. I refuse to give them any recognition or space in my mind, so that their goal of infamy isn't achieved with me.

I dislike cat ownership because they absolutely destroy the native wildlife. My views on this are very strong, eg if I was a dictator I'd make it illegal to have an outside cat and I'd instate some kind of neutering program so the vast majority of cats couldn't breed and I'd set up traps for feral cats. But I don't hate CATS, if I'm somewhere with a cat you bet I'm playing with it and patting it if it wants to be patted. They're good fun! I've had people be surprised at this! As though because I…

I absolutely agree, I thankfully have not been assaulted but when talking about feeling safe at night, by myself etc I have told two boyfriends about the time I sat next to a man on a train and he started masturbating. I fled and didn't tell the train guard because I was overwhelmed. When I told my LVM ex he asked if it was hot. My current boyfriend was horrified and felt sick.

Be aware of insecurities and societal norms creeping in to chip away at your authenticity. If you start doubting yourself or if something goes the way you didn't want it to, it's easy to fall back to old habits. This is fear and fear is ok, but don't let it control you. I suggest: Have a routine before going on a date. It could be a couple of days long. Eg. Do some exercise, meet with some friends, get outside, enjoy a hobby. Activites that you enjoy and make you feel good. Before the date have …

How long is the resume gap? Could you explain it as freelancing, overcoming an illness, or caring for a relative? The last year you don't have the explain at all - covid. Could you say you worked at a restaurant that went under from covid shutdowns etc and haven't found work since? I recommend the blog 'ask a manager', it has excellent advice about resume gaps and also some entries on sex work, eg "how to talk about past work as a former sex worker".

Victims are hostages. Mentally, physically, financially. Would they watch an action movie where the badie takes a bunch of people hostage with guns and go "why don't they just leave?" No, cos that would be moronic. Apply logic. When you leave: - you are most likely to be killed - he is the most angry and unhinged he will ever be - do not know where he is or what he is doing - may mean children are forced to spend unsupervised time with their abuser - he may go after the people trying to keep you…

We don't live in a bubble. We have friends and family who may be in relationships that we're unsure about. FDS can help us understand negative patterns and we can use that to help other women we care about.

If anyone has seen the haunting photos of holocaust victims, that's what she would have looked like. Paper thin skin stretched over bone, gaunt eyes and hollow cheeks. Absolutely sickening. I read a book by Australian POW who were starving and it stood out to me that their sex drive completely died, they stopped getting erections at all and many of them feared that they were permanently broken and unable to have children if they got home. I feel we can safely assume that she did not initiate sex…

I met a British guy in a NYC hostel, there was a hostel pub crawl and it was within my first 24hrs of landing in America so I was pretty excited. I'd walked through central park and gone to the natural history museum for my first day. I asked him how his trip was going and was there anything he'd recommend doing, places to eat etc? He told me everything is really expensive so he'd just been walking up and down Manhattan. I said oh museums are a donation to enter? Have you been window shopping? N…

If you can get a VPN, set it to Australia and then go to SBS On Demand. You may need to make an account but it doesn't cost money. If you can't pay for a VPN I'd suggest waiting until all three episodes are out (Wednesday next week is the last ep) and then get a free trial of a VPN and watch all three episodes. ❤️

Also that money pays for convenience, quality and speed. The professional gardeners are going to do a better job with better equipment, with no stress on you and in one weekend. Compared to the time spent arguing, being frustrated and disappointed, researching and buying equipment, storing and maintaining equipment, and the actual time in the garden fixing things.

Maybe 'dumb' and 'smart' isn't the way to phrase it, it's more 'uncritical' vs 'critical'? I agree with you - harsh truths are necessary. If we rephrase it as being critical we are giving guidance on how to navigate out of the social conditioning to be unquestioning. Instead of squashing down the gut feeling that says, hmm this doesn't sit well with me, why is it like this, why is it different for him than for me? Why is it this way, which is worse for me? Being critical is the first step to rea…

You worded this so perfectly. I bet their job involves needing to spot things that are being neglected, organising themselves and their work, weekly or daily maintenance tasks and prioritising items. Brian notices that the last few invoices have been dated incorrectly, but he can't spot the piss he left on the bathroom floor. He has to keep his files named and ordered appropriately but doesn't know which drawer the spatula lives in! If he doesn't keep on top of his daily e-mails they'll get out …

And it's "pitch in IF YOU CAN" - guys help your wife clean up your messes, but only if you feel like it! When the moon is new and mercury is in retrograde and the wind blows from the east. Nevermind the wife putting off a task because she's mentally and physically exhausted but has to do it anyway because if she doesn't it literally will never happen! No, only when you FEEL like it. Such as when you want sex so you need wifey in a good mood!! Follow for more tips on how to be a great husband.

My LVM ex lived in the trendy, indie part of our city that was stuffed full of quirky bars, cafes and restaurants that are a lot of fun to explore. But we never did as he never wanted to do anything. We were in a pretty rocky place and I was catching the train to his place (1hr trip) and I texted him saying could we please go to a cute bar I had my eyes on for some drinks, have some fun. He said 'i already have food here' which was shocking as he couldn't cook. I felt really disappointed and ups…

I always try to look for a female doctor and especially if their bio says they have a particular interest in women's health. I recently moved to a new area and the other week had strange unknown abdominal pain, and I found a doc that fit the above, and she was fantastic. Really listened to me, gave me a few options and made sure I understood them (it turned out to be a UTI presenting weirdly).

I found one that doesn't, I've been trying to think of early signs but I'm not sure bc as you say, many guys give great first impressions. He did know without me having to say anything that I would not be impressed if he watched it or showed me anything etc. I feel it's a respect thing. He is very respectful to me, always listens to me especially if I'm upset about something. I think he'd rather jump off a cliff than disrespect his mum. Something I've enjoyed when locked down and unable to see friends is finding funny, interesting female youtubers who make videos on both informative topics I'm interested in, and fun silly topics (eg I bought clothes from wish, I sewed a Barbie dress, I smashed up makeup to see what it's like). It's a bit of girl time, I stream it to the tv. Makes chores go fast and is also fun with a glass of wine while painting nails etc.
