Exactly shit like this that is the reason more men don’t open up about their feelings, why they bottle things up. Just had a discussion with my wife recently and she was going on about men needing to feel like they can open up more. I mentioned to her how often times when they try, they get ostracized for not saying the right thing, or their words get weaponized against them, and how when men try to form male support groups at places like universities, they often face backlash from feminist grou…

I’m not thrilled in a room full of women, especially in a work environment. Hate to sound sexist but I’ve been in too many female dominated workspaces to have experienced more than my share of the weird, underhanded, backhanded social games, and as an autistic male I was never great at navigating that stuff. Wouldn’t go as far as to say it terrifies me though. Would take a room full of men any day. But I probably wouldn’t feel that way if I were a woman

Not sure why you are getting downvoted. It’s amazing how much a makeover and focus on fitness can help otherwise average guys. I also think women are drawn to guys who excel at something that takes skill. Look how many musicians get women, and I’m not just talking about the famous ones. Plenty of non famous average and arguably ugly musician guys get their share of dates. I was a quiet, socially awkward guy in college but I had a lead role in a play and after the play at least three random girls…

I mean, mental illness is an epidemic in our society, I’m willing to wager the majority of infanticide cases and school shootings are a result of untreated and overlooked cases of mental illness and therefore the perpetrators should be treated differently.

While most violence may be committed by men, it’s a very, very small percentage of men that actually commit violence against women and children. This is what I try to remind people when they make arguments like that. Most infanticide is committed by mentally ill moms and yet we aren’t demonizing women that are mothers as a group. It would be counterproductive. Yet men as a group consistently get bashed for a lot of actions that are committed by a very small subset of men. It’s like the flip side…

Yes. Bisexuality, even just passing bicuriosity, is not really seen as a legitimate option for men. For example, history seems to suggest Alexander the Great was likely bisexual, yet I’ve usually heard people say he was homosexual. Women have always been allowed more leeway and understanding about their sexual preferences.

Speaking from personal experience as a bisexual man, double standards are why I keep it hidden. I suspect there are many bisexual men who simply stay in the closet. Personal anecdote: an ex girlfriend kissed a girl, said she enjoyed it and that she’d be into going further. She was nervous I’d think less of her but I was happy for her and said I could relate. Feeling safe, I told her I’d had sex with men. She got really weird about it, upset, said she didn’t know how to feel about it, right after…

They really pushed for a lot of labor/union support at this year’s Convention. It’s a bit early to say if the Democrats will return to being the party of labor, I’m being cautiously optimistic, but it seemed like a lot more speaking time was given to labor groups than in any other DNCs post nineties

Democrats act like it’s some big mystery why they can’t get more male support. It’s really simple. Start by adding fathers’ rights to the platform, address the issue of boys being left behind in education, and pledge to create a White House office for boys and men. All of this could be done concurrent with their stances and policies that benefit women. Empathy isn’t a zero sum game.

hogwash that men can never experience the fear of a woman physically hurting them. I have been in multiple situations where this was a legitimate fear. To add to that fear, when experienced by men, they're likely also experiencing an added layer of anxiety wondering if they would be believed or mocked were they to tell anyone about the situation. To say nothing of men who've been in physically abusive relationships with women--not only do they have the fear of violence to live with, but the very…

Yep. From my wife was the first person I heard about this thought experiment because I avoid most social media. I think she was expecting a discussion or argument but I just looked at her, nodded, said "interesting," and went back to what I was reading. She seemed a little disappointed I didn't engage her over it. Thing is, I knew it would be a losing argument for me no matter what. If I nitpicked about why bears are actually far more dangerous in that scenario, she'd tell me I was missing the p…

There are still legitimate issues in some nations where women are actually still legally second-class. Those are the places that actually need a strong suffrage movement. However, try to highlight this in response to feminists that only complain about how bad women have it in the first world, and it doesn't usually go well.
