I'm not sure what's so hard for people to understand about what he said. If we strip this of any gender political terminology, this is what he said: There's a system in place to help and protect people who need it. However, no system is perfect and people sometimes abuse the system. Because of that, I have a small concern that I might be a victim of someone abusing the system in place and that is forcing me to think about how I live my life. This is not at all a bad thing.

It think it's important to understand that DC (or whomever is releasing WW) is not setting up the women-only viewings. It's a specific theater. To make this a completely equal comparison, it would have to be the Alamo theater refusing to do this. Even then, it would seem odd to have a male only viewing for a movie that has a female lead like Rey. Maybe do it for the Han Solo movie, that would make more sense.

You should be able to leave your phone on a table in a cafe when you go to the washroom. Try doing that and see if your phone is there when you get back. I live in Japan. What really strikes me about this isn't just that she murdered her fiancé, it's the coldness with which she did it, especially taking his paddle from him. I think the idea behind that is to show that working towards a goal even if its a letdown in the end still builds character and cultivates you, but just taking the easy ticket and fucking people over gains you less in the end. Agreed. But I think the artist unknowingly (or slyly) reinforced the societal view that men become more valuable with age and women less valuable. Not that I agree with that mindset, but it does exist.

This is why you do two things with FB requests from coworkers: Place them in the 'acquaintances' group so they never see your FB updates. Find a posting of theirs and unsubscribe from their feed. Thank you. So am I. And not just from her, but from a huge pool of incredibly unhealthy people. Sadly, these people still try to contact me. People who would berate me, call me stupid, tell me I was worthless, etc. Years later, I still get emails from them asking me why I don't hang out with them any more. Keeps my lawyer busy, that's for sure. :)

I agree - my point is that I didn't quite take it personally (well, I did, but I let it go) because that's her nature. Yeah, it's a broken nature... but... Hmmm, let me try a different approach. When people like her hate me or disrespect me, it just means I'm doing the right thing. I have no problem if sociopaths and narcissists don't think highly of me as they are pretty far beneath me.

I dated a girl who was an animal trainer. Her: I use these same techniques on my friends. It works just as well and helps me get what I want from people. I could teach you to do the same.
