You're too delicate, not an ahole. And you will find yourself to be angry, and you will see that it will not fix itself quickly even if you want to. Once you find a new and better partner, you will fall in love after several likely disastrous attempts and failures, maybe, just maybe you will come to this conclusion that it went for the better for you and you'll forgive your wife and you will find out she made you a favour.

You'll find a younger woman. Come on. You could use therapy and gym, but everyone around will tell you this so...

I am the sole provider so I’m obviously still paying everything. Why? Why on earth? Pay for yourself and half of what children need. Then, BOOM. restraining order last week out of the blue. Even more, take care of your needs, and your children, but her needs are hers.

My experience is: have a separate party. During your own time with her. You're a single father, just part time.

Maybe she can drive the child to the football every Monday? It's a long run, not a sprint. And not about scoring the points for being the best parent, just be yourself. The manipulators usually lose in the long run. Play chess with the kiddo, install some app ar buy a set. It will be unforgettable. You are not going to lose him.

Myself I decided to stay. I had too much on my head in the beginning, 'for the kids' was another reason, not sure if true. Especially that my daughter decided to follow my ex. Now after a year, the home is mine - no traces of my ex in my head. No opinion though about what would have been better. I am fine.

You will find someone who cares about who you are and what you feel... Next time. It's not difficult, just tiring. At least it was for me, at 50. I looked for (1) love and (2) a partner. Much easier to find #2. You're younger, so you have much better perspectives. Just know what you're looking for! And don't look back, she was not worth it.

I can't explain it. I can, maybe. You seem to have waived your freedom. Source: been there, done that. Maybe it's your case as well?

She never did. About being laughable - there is a part, and it was about believing I would care she regretted. She may regret, and even possibly does, but the heck would I ever even care for that... Source: 1 year after the divorce.

>>she has been unsatisfied in our marriage for basically the entire time This is obvious. Any wrongdoer will justify him or herself. Do not listen to that. Not now, for sure. Take it as a proof of her being broken. She is, because she does not want to repair, stay together. Without this, you by yourself, you will never create a relationship. >>I'm scared of what the next step means for me Don't be. You will be better any way, there will be a period of sadness until you realise you were not a bad…

The added a lot, just not what I thought they did. With my new partner... I still like sex, I like being loved, shared emotions, and time we spend together. These are normal needs and no need to cut them out or deny. Earlier, before the proverbial hit the fan, I had thought there was tenderness, care, safety. Now I grew up and I do not need them from my parter.

I tried, I was polite and nice, then she went on with blaming me for her own errors in the old aggressive way and I kicked her out of my house, she came for a short visit on some occasion. It did not work, I believe there was a reason the marriage broke up.

Myself, a new partner, time for myself, peace of mind.

Hi Rookie, Really really sorry to hear you're still broken after 2 ys! This is unacceptable :) Joking, but let me try to tell you my story a bit. Pick-me-dane is when you try to win her over. To become even better. You enter a competition with the other guy. For me, aside from learning to cook which turned out very necessary for home making, it was for example just asking her to stay when she said she wanted to leave for good. It was a 'I will change for you even more' promise. They say, never w…

3 months and already not regretting her gone. But our stories are different, I was betrayed, pick-me-danced for 6 months, I am on therapy and do quite a lot of gym. So in total, 9 months of katharsis, I went deep and did not soothe my emotions but opposite. I have just started dating a bit (and I am 50).

Just a little story, 20 years, divorce in progress. Also codependent feelings, like you. I do not regret asking one more time, I had hopes until she filed. You know why? Now I have this rationalization - or maybe it is the truth - that whenever there is regret of ending this, it is on her. I could not do anything more. Whenever life brings her down, she will have doubts and regrets. It is sort of a vengeance. It hurt me a lot. Still in therapy, but the only vengeance I can hope for to get her.

Search for hope. Elsewhere. I am starting to move away from a woman that was 1/2 of my life. I have bought her out of our flat. I go to gym 3 times a week. Taking care of myself. Staring hobbies again. Meeting new and old friends. All these changes have one goal. Change bings opportunity. If I don't change things, they will remain as they are. So... change. The journey is yours.
