At this point I think we're agreeing but miss communicating. Yes I agree it is very easy to get deficiencies with a non meat diet. Yes eating meat makes it a lot easier to get a complete diet with much less attention to what you eat. I am saying that we don't need meat to have a complete diet. This study agrees: "The vegetarian diet can be sustainable at all stages of life and in all physiological conditions, including infancy, pregnancy, lactation, senescence and sports" Yes, the study, like yo…

So because some vegans don't know how to have a complete diet it means a vegan diet cannot be complete? What nutrients can't you get from plant sources?

Non sensical? Why do you think we have peer reviewed journals? So that people who really know what they're talking about can try to weed out what's true and not. I haven't spent years studying nutrition, have you? Maybe we should listen a bit more to those that have rather than articles written by randoms? Just because you have a lower standard of proof doesn't mean others are being nonsensical.

anecdotal evidence This isn't how we support arguments when it really matters. The issue is different standards of evidence. I work in research, I am very critical of claims unless they can be properly backed up. Isn't it interesting that no one seems to be able to find one piece of research that clearly says 'we need meat'?

I don't know either. I literally just went through the sources, not giving any opinion. Sad times

If its so obvious why isn't that the scientific consensus?

plenty of info on this Can you link me even 1 peer reviewed piece of research supporting this?

im not sure why, but people hold on to this idea that meat makes a better diet SO FUCKING HARD, even though there are walking examples everywhere that it clearly isnt true. Honestly I think the one thing that would probably get people to change their mind the most is going down/sucking off a meat eater vs a vegan. Vegan pussy takes 100x better.

I do agree that there is definitely a group of people (militant vegans for example) which clearly have an agenda, and will use lies and subpar research to push what they believe. This doesn't mean that everything they say (in terms of diet only i'm talking about here!) is wrong. The counter point which I think is important to explore, is that the meat industry is massive. Many people have vested interested in it. They very much have reason to try to convince people that meat is needed, whether…

Half of these aren't studies, they're just websites. If you want to have serious scientific talks pull up proper research (which you have included, but the rest aren't up to scratch). So your references 3, 5/6 (you put same one twice), 7 are the only proper sources. 3- This talks about what the general diet which our hunter gatherer forefathers had 5/6- This talks about the benefit of a high protein (relative to standard modern consumption) diet 7-This is a review talking (mainly the positives) …

Your body still needs meat. People say this, but I have yet to see one peer reviewed study support this when I've asked for it. Do you know of any? I eat meat by the way.
