The Guardian used to be respectable, now it's an embarrassment. They have given up fact checking, hence their humiliating article on trafficking which gave stats that would mean 1 in 300 women in the UK was a Vietnamese nail salon worker. link here Or what about the aticle that claimed Thomas the tank engine demonstrated in-your-face violence, sexism, racism and classism It's become a comicbook full of clickbait articles written by privileged oxbridge-educated bloggers.

I'm pretty leftwing. The Guardian is the Daily Mail of the left. Have you seen much of Greenwald in the Guardian lately? They have a Valenti article almost daily.

Don't give the guardian any traffic. It's full of articles like this and we shouldn't give them the ad revenue

The Guardian is full of misandrist articles. It is the Daily Mail of the left wing; full of clickbait, low on content.

Maybe it doesn't mean the same as here in the UK: graft means hard work

Some of the best bosses I've ever had have been women. But I suspect that's because I'm a hospital doctor and these women (like all good doctors) have had their leadership and decision-making honed in the emergency department and on the wards. They don't need a job title to get respect, they have earned it through thousands of hours of graft. I suspect in other areas you can rise to managerial roles without having to demonstrate actual competency for the job itself, rather than in nebulous manag…

The Guardian is probably the most misandrist paper there is in the UK. The editor still has a stiffy after playing at James Bond with all of the Snowden business, and he's lost sight of the massive deterioration in reporting that has happened across the publication. There is a rotation of clickbait-harvesting female writers publishing poor quality articles bashing men continually.

"stood in battle" has clear military context compared to "fighting a battle" This is coming from a writer who wrote the bulk of his work in the period spanning two genocidal global military conflicts where tens of millions of men literally "stood" (and fell) in battle. He didn't write this metaphorically meaning that a man who has never had a fist fight/ played competitive sports has missed the most "colossal experience of his sex." Let's put this in context here and be a bit realistic.

Yeah, a man isn't really a man until he has stood shoulder to shoulder with his comrades in lacrosse.

so I just sat there waiting for him to make a move, but it never came. He walked off and everyone was disappointed. We dated on and off for 5-6 years...... Yours and his relationship really escalated quickly after that incident ;)

What specifically is it about atheism, for example, that colours scientific inquiry? What theories are scientists looking to "back-up" from the point of view of atheism? I would have thought that the exact opposite was true, Christian "scientists" ignoring all the evidence to hand to back up their theories that the earth is 6000 years old, for example.

It's pretty clear that you have your own fundamentalism to deal with, just not religious (although that seems to be coming your way too.)

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
