You have to...never let yourself appear weak or incompetent No you don't

Exactly right, and saying "you're making this too complicated" is emblematic of exactly what I'm saying

Sure, I can be more clear about that: I don't mean to ask you for a solution to the issue. I'm saying that your comments thus far are not logically refuting the issue itself, but rather just sidestep the issue, ie. Your logic is not making rhetorical contact with the issue

Yet you proved the hypothetical exactly right (when you admitted that someone expecting you to pay for them is childish) even though you childlishly refused to engage with it for reasons that you well know are irrelevant to the logic of the hypothetical You are deflecting by asking me what I "want"; there is no logical reason why calling out and/or discussing a social issue must be accompanied by direct solutions. Clearly this is an issue of social expectations and it would be silly to call for …

Talk about not addressing a point lol. Do you understand what a hypothetical is? You're saying that anyone who expects you to pay is a child? So you're saying all the women in this thread saying they expect the guy to pay are children? You are fully skirting and not addressing the issue of women's entitlement - not sure it can be clearer than that; you are, instead of commenting on it meaningfully, just saying that it doesn't impact you, even though nobody claims that it impacts every person. Th…

It's laughable if you think the girls above a guy's league are the only ones that want him to pay

Why do you think anyone should be going on a date expecting the other person to not want them, and then trying to use money or other manipulations to make them like them? In your opinion, should they not be looking for a woman that actually likes them and is interested?

I don't date women who hold or express this view

Do you not understand how expectations can be set against you, even if you can technically go against those expectations? For one example, women sometimes complain that there is a baseline expectation that they wear makeup in the office. Yes, technically it is their choice to wear it or not—but it is fair for them to point out that people will view them a certain negative way just for not wearing makeup, and it is fair for them to bring that up, and try to help people see what a woman looks like…

what do you not understand about the situation? You're describing an irrelevant situation and then asking if I understand it. Your comparison is extremely telling, wow. Why do you think a woman mutually accepting a date with a man makes her comparable to a luxury store offering luxury products for a price? Is a date not a mutually agreed on event where both sides are hoping to get something? Honestly I'm glad your comparison showed how entitled you think women should be on dates

you’re comparing workplace discrimination to men choosing to ask women out and choosing to pay for dates? do you need me to answer this question? Yes, I'm comparing two different things to make a point about underlying logic - that's how comparisons work. Making a comparison in no way implies that both are equal in their overall significance. you can’t force women to ask men out on dates bud Are you having trouble with the logic or what? I didn't advocate for this at all - you're just misdirecti…

It makes an enormous difference, because an irl issue (ie. men being expected to pay to date *irl*) is completely different from your "issue" which apparently is that you don't like certain reddit threads Only a terminally online person cannot tell the difference between real life and just being triggered on the internet

I can't speak for extroverts, but for introverts; anxiety and discomfort, potentially spending an evening with someone you don't like who is judging your every move constantly instead of spending time with a friend who already knows you and so isn't judging you as closely.

men constantly blaming women Are you referring to men on Reddit? Or are you saying that men you met IRL have complained to you about this?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/26 12:55 PM

It's not that simple, because of the widely held expectation for men to pay; any man who takes your advice for not paying will be single virtually forever. It's very easy for you to make statements about what men should do on the whole, knowing that the vast majority of women's expectations don't leave room for choice in this matter.

That's a fine way to live, but doesn't meaningfully address the issue at all. You are describing your personal choice to pay. Men like in this post are complaining that there is an expectation to pay repeatedly. You say that if you invite your friend, you cover the tab. But what if you forgot your wallet and your friend got mad at you for not paying? If they literally expect you to pay for their drinks, else they may stop being your friend? Wouldn't that entitlement change your feeling towards h…

If you can't understand that, then you are not earnestly engaging with the topic. "whoever asks should pay" clearly is just a way to perpetuate having men pay, by relying on yet another gendered expectation (that men pursue). It keeps the power and entitlement in the woman's hands while dodging the argument. It'd be like if you complained that women aren't respected in the workplace, and my response is just that "everyone should respect the CEO's" (who are 99% men). Clearly in that case, I am do…

I'm super agreeable and have enjoyed paying for all the women I've dated - they've acted super appreciative, not giving the impression that I *have* to pay. Seeing a woman irl or online act entitled like they automatically deserve to have their food paid for is a huge turn off even for someone who likes to treat women.

Why does the dinner have to be fancy if there's no activity involved?

How so
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/26 12:02 AM

Exactly - the people who are in relationships are getting something in return, so therefore relating to their partners isn't selfless
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/26 11:50 PM

What makes you say that relating to people takes selflessness? Don't you generally get a lot out of your relationships?

Why do you use the terms "male" and "female" in this context?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/26 11:17 PM

Evaluating her for dating potential, and being evaluated in return. Pampering/adjusting yourself to her at least to some degree. Thinking of new date ideas. Answering when she asks "what are you thinking about?"

Is sex with femboys still on the table? If so, I would date a femboy. If not, and all sex is off the table (and therefore kids is also off the table), then no, I'd probably just be single and cultivate friendships with both genders.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
