I left my job and came back home in Mexico City. I know I am losing on some money but in the end, what matters is my wellbeing. Here I am around friends and family and I have been granted an interview for a job in the US embassy in Mexico so, I think I am gonna stay here until I get back on my feet and then return to the US healed and stronger. I am not suggesting you have to quit your job but rather what I am saying is that sometimes one has to start all over again and new to rebuild and redisc…

Hello there, I know exactly what you're going through, for I am trying to adapt to life without her, without having a partner to share, call, talk, come to, lay down with. Learning to be alone is a pretty tricky task. However, I found pretty good advice in the book "The journey from abandonment to healing" by Sussan Anderson. It has given me the bases to start healing and learn to be on my own without having to rely on someone else to fulfill my emotional needs. I would recommend you read it. Go…

Read this! It has been helping me a lot. The Journey from Abandonment to Healing: Revised and Updated, Surviving Through and Recovering from the Five Stages That Accompany the Loss of Love – Susan Anderson Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do but to move forward at all costs. Live your grief, don't rush it but don't ignore it either. I have been on this situation for about 2 months and it has been the hardest time of my life but I have also started to see the light at the end of the tunnel…

It doesn't matter who plans or starts the divorce. Men and women suffer equally when left behind, especially if its unexpected as it is my case. In my opinion, the partner leaving copes with it better because by the time they make the decision they have already been mourning and processing the loss while the party left behind gets showered with a bucket of ice cold water when the news are brought up. Not all women are evil and not all men are pricks. Something happens in the person's that is lea…

I am just there! My wife asked me for a divorce (it was so surreal, I thought I was living in a nightmare) about three weeks ago after being separated for about 2 months due to work. Trytosurvive on the post below is right about the version of the wife, the one I married 8 years ago is gone, now it is 2.0 version of her. She claims having stopped being in love with me and she wants to do things on her own and for/by herself. It almost sounds as if she regrets having married me. All the things we…
