Oh i see; not being a bigot for one second is so hard for you, that it's like giving out a cookie? Lol don't be a psycho

Glad we agree you're literally acting prejudiced right now against a person who has never raped anyone. Happy to agree on that point

You're entitled to your opinions, as long as you recognize that you're a bigot, sexist and probably racist based on your logic.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/24 01:39 PM

So if one race of people committed an outsized proportion of violent crime, you would be disgusted with that race of people? Yes, that's called bigotry
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/24 01:31 PM

Why not? Sex can be fun regardless of looks, unless we're talking about really really bad looks or obesity, or something that otherwise makes sex difficult.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/24 01:22 PM

Obviously love is the foundation of a strong relationship. Ok so you are in fact saying that your relationships involve no compromise, thank you. A little clarity never hurts a good faith conversation. Now - how long was your longest relationship? Are you married?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/24 04:15 PM
1

You just said your relationships aren't a transaction, which explains very little. You tried to justify that by telling me that compromise is never needed if you have love. So just complete your thought and tell me whether your relationships involve compromise or not. No need to dodge such a simple and foundational question.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/24 04:09 PM

Just simply deny it if it's not true, I'll be happy to hear you out and I've been taking you at your word. There's no reason to keep this to yourself unless you don't have an answer or can't defend it.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/24 03:57 PM
1

It is blatantly obvious that you do in fact compromise in your relationships at this point. Otherwise you'd simply say that you don't. Would have been much easier than all this. Don't worry, I do not typically alter my relationship habits based on a single Reddit conversation.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/24 03:18 PM
1

You are once again heavily implying that you do not compromise in your relationships, but for some very suspicious reason, you have an issue actually articulating the fact that you do not compromise in your relationships. Be honest. Just say what you mean. Tell me that you don't compromise, or tell me that you do. If you cannot answer that foundational question on this topic, why would anyone in their right mind listen to you?

I explained the exact conflicting ideas you provided around you doing whatever you want, and simply asked you to explain the contradiction. I did not put words in your mouth but simply asked you to clarify. That is not bad faith. If I was bad faith, I would have assumed your logic or simply trolled you about the apparent contradiction. If you want to make claims on the internet like "homemakers are leeches", then expect others to examine your logic.

None of your answers explained how a serious relationship can work with no compromise. Claiming that such a relationship is possible, to me, is like claiming that the earth is flat, in that it is an extraordinary claim in want of extraordinary evidence. Naturally, I wanted to know more. That is what I want. More explanation of an extraordinary claim. Mostly you have not provided backup for this claim but rather simply given your feelings around your friendships and how you apparently just do wha…

I never said I only contribute when I feel like it. And if I don't feel like it then I won't Can you please clarify; do you ever help even when it doesn't come very naturally/you don't feel like it?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/24 01:35 PM
1

Ok well tbh I'm still having trouble grasping your logic - it sounds like the summary I gave above still fits what you're saying now; that anything which would be "natural human behavior" cannot qualify as a compromise. To me it sounds like you reaffirmed that logic (even if you don't think of it that way) by saying: If my friend cooks, it's just natural for me to help in some way, if I feel up to it. It's not like I calculate it in my head or feel like I have to help because it's normal human…
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/24 01:10 PM
1

It sounds like the logic of your argument is the following, which I do not understand: If [the described behavior] is "normal human behavior" or "inevitable when you relate to people", then it cannot be described as a "tradeoff" or "compromise". Is this a fair understanding of your logic? If so; why can something which is "normal human behavior" not qualify as a tradeoff?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/24 12:44 PM
1

Thanks for your response. With my friends, there are certainly tradeoffs. For example, sometimes we hang out at their house and sometimes my house. I get them gifts on their birthdays and they get me gifts. If we rented a cottage for a weekend, i might buy groceries and clean the dishes while they cook. These tradeoffs are usually not super formal but they are present in every relationship/friendship i have ever seen or been a part of. Have you never taken part in tradeoffs like this?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/24 12:07 PM
1

So how do your relationships function without compromise and tradeoff?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/24 11:58 AM
1

Yeah that was pretty weird
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/24 09:26 PM
1

Why did you ask that guy if he thinks homemakers are leeches?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/24 08:29 PM
1

How does any of your comment prove your implication that homemakers are leeches? The man you're describing is insanely rare (ie. A traditional man who wants to share his entire salary but is unwilling to pay for the first few dates). But this hypothetical man has nothing to do with your implication that homemakers are leeches.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/24 07:49 PM
1

How does that relate my comment about your analogy to homemakers?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/24 06:19 PM
1

That's a good point, my bad. I will stop doing that. My feeling with your last comment was that you repeated your point without additional argument. But it was not cool. I've taken it back.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/24 04:04 PM
1

Great; 1. Explain how your relationships differ from what I described. 2. What role does compromise play in your relationships? 3. How long was your longest relationship, and are you married?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/24 03:52 PM
1

I have no problem if we say they can be described that way. Do you disagree with my description of relationships? How are your relationships different?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/24 03:25 PM
1

All relationships are built on compromise and tradeoffs: I cook, you do the dishes. I had to work overtime tonight, you pick up the kids from school. I have a high stress, high paying job that supports us, you handle the home. Do you really disagree with this? Whether the above can be described as a transaction I'm not sure without looking up the definition, but the definition wouldn't change the basic reality described above.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/24 03:21 PM
1

Homemakers provide an ongoing service which the man has chosen to reciprocate by sharing his salary. By your logic, is the cleaning lady a leech because she is paid money to clean?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/24 03:16 PM
0

Homemakers provide specific value that the other partner isn't providing, that's why they're valued and can make no money or less money and still share the man's salary. A person on a date hasn't provided anything that is needed and isn't being equally provided on the other side.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/24 03:13 PM
1

He's right. No self-respecting modern person wants to go on a date with someone who doesn't respect their time, regardless of gender.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/03/24 02:25 PM
2

Look, I'm a professional writer and frankly, this is just a semantic argument anyways; you know exactly what I meant at this point. If you were confident in your argument, there's no reason for you to harp on a semantic point that you are incorrect about and is irrelevant to which one of us actually is correct.

women can get crazy numbers of matches easily while men have to sift through and swipe tons of options in many cases, and then be creative to stand out, while women can just stand around looking hot. So no, i dont consider the woman's time to be more valuable on a date. I don't give points for showing up, and i think doing that is pretty pathetic
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/24 11:14 PM
1

Ok, so if the girl doesn't pay for the guy, should he not consider himself a boyfriend? Why should the man pay to prove something rather than the woman? As I said, if this is your only indicator, and you're getting emotionally/physically invested, then you are not making good choices.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/24 10:53 PM

I don't understand your point. Are you saying she should basically charge him 20 bucks and then it's ok to sleep with him? If she can only distinguish that difference by her $20 meal being paid for, and she genuinely cares whether he has romantic intentions, then she probably shouldn't sleep with him. Plenty of guys will of course spend $20 to get in your pants. It's a common trope that they pay the $20 and then expect sex in return.

I agree that we're mostly talking about first dates. After that, the couple's specific dynamics are the most determinative factor. For example if they're both interested in getting married and having kids soon, and it's clear that the woman will be doing more cooking and cleaning and child-rearing, it may make sense for that couple if the man slowly begins to pay for things up until marriage when they split finances. How is this date even proposed and how does it come up? "Would you like to go…

people on dates can communicate their romantic intentions in many ways. the selected venue, the topics on conversation, playful teasing, suggestions for future dates, body language, eye contact, how they dress, and much more. I do agree that it's nice to offer to pay but it's certainly not the only thing separating a 'beer with friends' and a date (unless you're going on horrible dates lol)

You've played a bit of slight of hand here, though I definitely agree that context matters. Yes, of course if someone says "Can I take you out", that is implying that it's their treat—regardless of whether we're talking about Chipotle, coffee or a romantic dinner, and regardless of whether you're friends or potential romantic partners. I am referring to dates and other plans where there was not an explicit mention of who is treating who, since there's clearly no reason to discuss who would/shoul…

I have said quite clearly that you are painting a picture which does not reflect reality for either men or women. That means that I do not believe that life for women is how you describe it. Both men and women work to survive - they just can do it in different ways. Women are more likely currently to spend more of their energy on domestic chores than men, but both genders have to work usually.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/24 03:40 PM

You've spent way too much time on the internet if you think this genuinely reflects reality
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/24 02:56 PM

See attached. The parts of the sentence after the *comma* are modifying the part before the comma; "going out on dates and getting free food from tons of different men every night" is a description of "the hardest job in the world". Perhaps you misread the comma for a period...? Next, nurses in California make over $100k a year. Considering that men even in California claim that $100k is such a high salary and that women are too demanding to want a man to make $100k, I would argue that most of…

Every night? Without a break? And then you claim that you know what reality is? Most women are not going on a date every single night without a break. lol...I did not claim that women go on dates every night. Please reread my comment. You'll see that the sentence begins with the phrase " You're making it sound like", which indicates that I'm referencing a fake reality that you are painting. It's referred to as sarcasm. Ok... You really think tomboys would accept average dudes working for Starbucks? First of all, we're talking about an ugly tom girl to be clear. Second, working at Starbucks would be a liability to your dating, only if you're a certain age. If you're in college, it won't hurt you. If you're 30 working at Starbucks, living at home, with no plans or education, then obviously no normal woman would want you—why would they? But that's ok, because most men don't have to be 30 working at Starbucks. Mos…

Those women are not "what you can get" lol, those are extremely high maintenance women who are probably harder to get than many other girls. You'd have a much better chance with a tomboy who's maybe not as attractive as you'd prefer, if you're "taking what you can get"
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/24 01:43 PM

are you talking about a super ugly woman? Most women can find a husband in 10 years of dating if they try. You're making it sound like women have the hardest job in the world, going out on dates and getting free food from tons of different men every night without a break. Doesn't reflect reality at all. A woman's time is not more valuable. A man can earn more money and become valuable as he gets older or a man cant. A man can also go after a poor woman and impress her even with a modest job. E…

absolutely not. If you invite your same-seniority colleague to lunch, there's absolutely not an expectation to pay. The only exception is if you're very good friends/have been working together for years and have that type of relationship, but it's absolutely not a given. If one colleague suggests to go get beers after a shift, you'd be a huge asshole to just assume "hey free beer"

This is just a way to retroactively justify your belief that a woman's time is more valuable than a man's when it comes to dating. The exact same argument can be made on the other side: Men are expected to work and make money otherwise they are worthless to society and to women. Women certainly reinforce this expectation even with their expectation that men pay on a date. Therefore, a couple hours of a man's time is time he could be using to make money. Be grateful that he's choosing to spend hi…

As another poster said, it's about compatibility, not being "interesting" in any objective way. Sure, if you have more interests, that will help you form relationships with more people. But it's not as if men are more boring than women or have fewer "active" interests. I'm sure most men have tons of experience with women who only seem to be interested in The Bachelor, health/ beauty and interpersonal drama, which may seem boring to many guys.

You're going a bit far to say it's meaningless for that reason; most studies that show correlation are not able to factor in every possible relevant factor, especially on such a complex topic as therapy. We often have to reply on what we have, while continuing to practice skepticism. That being said, there are other good criticisms of the study being brought up

When violence against men is brought up, your immediate response was that men could solve the problem. But no, the vast majority of men who are law abiding can't just solve the problem of violent assault any more than the vast majority of women can. So it's a horrible first response. If a white woman is raped, I would never respond "white people could stop this if they just stopped raping or improved the criminal justice system". That would be crazy.

I mean yeah but most guys aren't totally ugly (like 3/10) and below. Most guys are like 4-6/10, and money can definitely add or subtract one or two points, which can be very significant even if it's just pushing a 4 to a 5 or 6. But yes, a 2 will have issues regardless.

You're oversimplifying the wall to only refer to looks. Usually it refers to overall attractiveness, which includes looks. It's mostly the other factors that contribute to the wall being hit at different ages for men vs women (esp. money and youth)

It's baffling that this argument still floats around. First of all, women are not being blamed for violence and robbery at all, so that is a complete straw man. Secondly, the idea that a man shouldn't be afraid of being assaulted, or even that he is responsible for being assaulted, just because he shares the same gender as his attackers, is laughable and without logic. Is it suddenly OK if you're assaulted, as long as it's a woman? Or if she shares the same race as you??

Yeah for sure, most well adjusted men wouldn't try something after you/they are married, at least not without some provocation
/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/24 02:50 AM

Fair enough, your original comment just made it seem like you were using that as a sorting mechanism
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/24 04:56 PM

I've known these guys and they ones I know keep this shit to themselves. Even if they do, it would only be after you've already been "friends" with him for a long time, so it's not a very good sorting mechanism.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/24 04:50 PM

Most guys would sleep with any attractive girl if they're not in a relationship, gay, or there's some wider social friend group that would make it not work What would the guy give as a reason to not sleep with his hot single friend? There's generally very few negatives and a huge positive.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/24 04:48 PM

Most guys who believe in the "friend zone" wouldn't bring it up to their female friends IRL (though tbf most probably don't even have female friends)
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/24 04:46 PM

Those are good points, but did you answer the question of how the feminists you know are "fighting" for men?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/24 12:21 PM

I appreciate your point about what 'real' intersectional feminism is, but I'm talking specifically about how it is practiced in the world, as opposed to in academic papers (or on Twitter). In the real world, people are asked what gender they identify as, race they identify as, physical impairments, sexual orientation - but not often about their class. If you're a white guy from a horrible background, you'll usually fade into the pool of other white guys and, as far as most employers are concerne…
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/24 12:02 PM

Intersectional feminism in practice puts white men on the very bottom, usually regardless of their social or financial class

Women (and men) don't like dating people with unresolved anger issues, crippling anxiety, or suicidal thoughts. All of these issues, and many more, are ones you can work on in therapy. Just don't talk about it on a first or second date, and you'll be fine.

Lots of successful and attractive guys are secretly very submissive. Lots of people theorize that it's because they have so much control over their public lives, that they like to lose control sexually. If you can signal that you're dominant and be very forward in flirting, you may be able to wrap some of these guys around your finger. I suggest wearing tight black leather to signal dominatrix vibes.
