Here's the thing though. To me, if someone is pleading for their life and you have complete control of the situation, like it seems in this case, it shouldn't matter if they were abusive or not. It could be Adolf Hitler after killing your whole family, but if he's pleading for his life and there's no way he could hurt you, you don't kill him.

I think you misunderstand my statement. I know we all want innocent until proven guilty. I just think if someone walked into this subreddit it would be easy to mistake comments about a penalty for false accusations as "if the man doesn't go to jail the woman will". This obviously isn't what we want, but I feel it's not spelled out well enough for a subreddit constantly having its comments taken out of context by people like SRS.

If it can be proven they lied. I feel most comments like that come off as "two people go to court one goes to jail for a long time" obviously that's not the intent but it should be clearly stated that that's not what we mean. I think the best thing would be a separate trial with the same burden of proof to prove the accuser lied. If it can't be proven beyond a reasonable doubt, no one should be punished, that's the basis of our legal system.

It may not be important to you, but in most cases the east information is presented is more important. If I'm trying to convince someone to buy my car it will be easier if it looks good and only I know it runs like shit than if it looks like shit and only I know it runs like a boss. That's why I put the financial abortion bit in there. It should be an option for both parents. You don't want the kid, you shouldn't have to pay for it whether you're a man or a woman. If I'm not mistaken these would allow the transplant of a fetus from a woman's uterus into one of these artificial ones, meaning that the final say on having an abortion may no longer rest on the woman.
