McNair had warrants out for his arrest for nearly a year without knowing. So the guy was in the area, matched description, has the same name, and had a warrant. It's understandable that there would be temporary confusion. It sucks that it took 30 days for the truth to come out. I don't think this is a rights issue, more like a general law enforcement competency issue.

At an annual engineering conference I attend, there are 4 bathrooms in the main conference hall, two womens, two mens. One of the womens is converted to mens, because engineers are practical people and know the demographics of who attends their conference.

I like to imagine this is view is what most reasonable people who you will encounter in your day have. People in groups anywhere will form a consensus that benefits their own group above others. This is very general behavior that every human has done since we were cavemen. A lot of things online don't really translate into real life. People being shitty in real life does happen, but it is rare and nobody should live their life paranoid of every person they encounter.

I had an expensive lesson in this that I am still paying for. Your ability to just walk away and cut contact is reduced when children are involved. I wonder if the people who make and read these even have kids. Like what experiences are they basing these opinions on? In reality when you are a parent, other parents treat you basically the same. It is only different depending on the context of what you are doing, not who you are. And how is empathizing with your struggles seen as being treated poorly? Commenting to some mom that that her daughters hair looks nice in braids or whatever is a great way to get that mom to like you.

A causal link is very difficult to establish in medical science, and especially for behavioral traits. What is reported is that if a child has gender identity disorder, that is associated with a higher prevalence of bipolar disorder/depression of their mothers. What you said is a hypothesis that rings true, but is hard to support with data. If I was a researcher who honestly wanted to explain the recent rise in gender identity disorder, I would try to devise a study to test this hypothesis.

I'm an engineer... nearly every woman engineer I've met has an engineer dad or is an immigrant. Good work gets respect regardless of who it comes from. The work is very demanding though and it takes a lot of self motivation, it's not for everyone for sure.

imo, basic costs like rent and food should be on the custodial parent/s in entirety. It makes sense intuitively. If there is some benefit that is only enjoyed by one party, why do both parties equally share financial responsibility? Setting it up this way inevitably leads to conflict and strife.

It's not evil, just misunderstood. HR is there to protect the company, not to protect the employees. Women are proven to have the power to bring very expensive lawsuits if their issues are not taken care of. The company (and HR by extension) doesn't care about whether the claims are legitimate or fair, only how it affects the bottom line.
