Most people ask and many do disappear once they know what it means! Happy with that outcome :)

Yep, if you make similar salaries taxes go up generally. It's better to get a lawyer hash out legal arrangements (for health decisions and things like that) and stay single. Edit: This is assuming you are not having kids with the other person.

Isn't that the same as long term porn usage?

The reality of it is women are judged on beauty standards and those are expensive (both time and then all the costs of it, plus some is usually painful). There is always someone cuter, younger, hotter out there. Similarly men are judged on their resources (and for somewhat their looks as well). There is always someone with more out there. Both are making a choice to spend their money and time on these things to find a partner (or just sex). Both men and women can definitely 100% choose not to ma…

Shortchanged for what? They know I'm a demisexual and that I'll pay for myself, if they want to go they can go. We are independent beings who can make our own choices. Shortchanged assumes they are paying for something? I'm also putting in my time and energy into the dynamic + probably like I said earlier spending time with pre date grooming. Honestly most men don't last longer than a date or two because they don't do this basic thing (dress up, shave, try to impress the person you're going out …

I haven't had issues with it. Once I feel emotionally connected my appetite is generally the same or close to my partners. Just takes time, it easier to be friends first in that regard.

So in that case you'd also find is similar to prostitution?

Question for OP - do you feel differently about this if it's two gay men? I have also seen that happen a lot.

Yep! Totally hear you, I'm demisexual so it takes time for me to know. Have to have an emotional bond (to be attracted to someone) and there is no way that is happening over two or three dates.

True! This is why I do video dates often first now, glad Covid has normalized this. No one pays for anything and I don't have to do make up / get ready as much.

Yes the number of precautions is crazy, I wonder if dudes know how many times we send friends locations, addresses, time to call, etc. Assuming so but yeah there is a lot of that "prep" that has to be done too.

Unfortunately as long as women are measured on their beauty (not saying this is right) and it's competitive out there it's going to be costly to prep for dates. That is part of the "effort." I'm asking what is the man's effort then if they are splitting the date? Many dates I have been on the guy hasn't bothered to shave, let alone consider what he is wearing. (I usually just do coffee / pay for myself) This definitely factors into their effort, among other things. I've spent probably an hour pr…

I pay for myself on dates. It takes me months to be attracted to someone so that is much easier than them expecting something (and I'm fully financially independent). It's awkward and it feels like there is an imbalance. Usually first few dates are just coffee / tea or ice cream anyway so it doesn't matter. I cook almost all my meals and that is just easier. If they are just interested in sex too it vets them out much faster. Also the orgasm gap is pretty high for women compared to men (during i…

I've dated enough guys that are sketch (regardless of online or after meeting them) that it's better to be safe than in therapy for a year later (not to mention or pregnant / with an STD for life). Not going on a hike isn't the end of the world, there is plenty people can do in safe public spaces.- Go to a bookstore, discuss your favorite books - Go to a coffee shop and bring a board game or uno even! - Do art together in a park (with lots of people around) / or play music together - Walk around…

Doesn't matter if it's a man or woman, these are the things for peak attractiveness: When they can have two sided conversations When they are emotionally wise (and can control their emotions but also express them) When they love themselves and can thus love other When they care what they are putting into their environment (mentally, friends, food, etc.) When they actively care about their health (both food and exercise) When they are comfortable asking for consent When they are open and curious …

So a woman should risk STDs and getting pregnant to someone she has spent little time with for the sake of probably not having an orgasm...? It doesn't really add up.

use I prefer if the guy introduces me to a public hobby of his or he plans one that centers one of mine. Like roller skating, bike riding, bowling, baking, going to a museum etc. Secondly, because we might have conflicting tastes that’s something that’s better to do later on down the line. Like a second or third date when you have more things to talk about and you have at least a basic understanding of each other’s food preferences. Do you know how many dates women have where men just tell them …

Doesn't guarantee there are going to be other people around all the time. I try to keep it as public as possible and always send a friend my location and any other relevant info. Maybe for a 3rd date I'd consider a hike.

100% this. The number of men I've gone out with recently who haven't bothered to shave, or the one time someone showed up with cargo shorts and gym socks... like really? Would you do this for a job interview? It's fairly easy to get creative and do low cost things together. I'd rather pay to see if effort and planning are things he can handle. I'd rather pay and see how much effort is happening both before and after. Most women I'm guessing spend a lot of time before the date (and time is money)…

Agree with most of this. As a woman I'd never go on a hike with a man on a first date. Go to a public place, be safe!!! Get ice cream, do something short and sweet and then go from there.

Agreed. If I spending time with a man for coffee or anything and I met him via a dating app, that is a date. Otherwise I'm happier at home or with my friends. I'm not looking to hang out with strangers.

As a woman the only first dates I usually agree to (80 - 90% of the time) are coffee or walks. (Sometimes if we've done a video chat first I'm willing to do dinner and spend more time with the person). Usually, I want to know I can get out of there as quickly as possible if it's not a good fit, or something is off (they don't look like their photos, are creepy, or cannot hold a two sided conversation). With that said I still spend money on grooming and getting ready, usually about an hour for ea…

But that is about just physical attraction, I don't know if you could be in love with her based on that alone. That is different I think.

This is probably not true for demisexuals. (Demisexuality is a sexual orientation where people only experience sexual attraction to folks that they have close emotional connections with.) I've definitely found myself attracted to people months or years after knowing someone, and rarely does that ever happen for me within the first few meetings. Also trying to find a deep emotional connection within the first few weeks of knowing someone is not feasible. I will say for me I can find someone attra…

100% this is the case for many many women. The orgasm gap is so high it's not even worth it to bother most of the time.

If you've been attacked mainly by men your body will respond to that trauma. I haven't been attacked in that way by a woman, maybe this happens but I can't speak to it. Usually from my experience with women there has been more communication around consent as a whole. When a cis-man asks for consent regularly it immediately changes how much I enjoy the interaction and his attraction level goes up. But yes, even when friends cancel my introvert self is relieved :)

Yeah I don't think I'd do that (since I'd be in public... but also just because why would one do that?!) but I can't speak for everyone. I know for me going on a date is always going to feel risky (in terms of SA) with a cis-man so it's a huge ask to do so for the purposes of ego fulfillment. Plus as an introvert it's a LOT of energy, I'd almost always prefer to be home.

Personally I really like my independence (financial, home, community). But STD wise it's too risky to not be in a committed relationship. People will say they are being "safe" but we all know people who have slip ups, etc. and there are STDs even with protection you can be gifted...Women are also more at risk of receiving and contracting STDs (since some you can't really be tested for) With all that said I'd say yes, it's possible to feel secure (financially, emotionally, career-wise and in your…

You are asking if I spend an hour getting ready, grooming, doing my hair and picking out an outfit for a meal I can probably cook at home in a safe introvert heaven (in pajamas)? Let's top this off with then having to text a friend a location and possibly his name to ensure if something does happen to me, then I know someone is aware... Just to ensure someone else feels bad? I can safely say no.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
