I was just giving an example. I used to be very awkward and shy and I have worked really hard to come out of it. I try to constantly practice to better learn how to engage with others. Plus, I like being friendly. It isn't exhausting after a while, it takes time and patience. Lots of patience

I'll try my best to find something there is mutual interest in. For example, there's this guy who is my husband's coworker who is very quiet. So I started to talk about different topics until I learned he's big into hiking. So now I try to enage with him about hiking, all the while making attempts to find out his other interests. It's a bit of a dance but practice makes perfect. You can also talk a little about things you're interested in and engage them with questions.

We were talking to my husband's cousin about her breakup and he said " (my name) is so amazing, I don't know why she's with me. She brings so much to the table, she's smart, she cooks, cleans, is gorgeous, works hard, and takes care of me." He was a little drunk but I will never forget that.
