I can sort of expect in advance the girls who'll match - and obviously most who like are those I consider unattractive Why would you swipe yes on women you consider unattractive??

My advice wouldn't change no matter who was or wasn't listening. The subset of women who make consistently bad choices are not being smart.

when women give dating advice to, they know that their family and friends will watch, and they'll be judged. My friends and family are "watching" my conversations? Are they having me followed and bugging my phone, too?? actual advice on how to fuck more of them. If you think women are equipped to give men actual processes and methods to bang women Gross. Why would a non-sociopath encourage or enable you to use women? That's not "dating" advice. The bottom line is women have no idea what they wan…

I agree that probably happens in a lot of relationships. (Though I've never quite understood the point of getting someone to love a person who doesn't really exist. Not to mention that putting on a fake persona has to be utterly exhausting.) To get all the way to marriage, that's a lot of faking it.

I think they more often fail because people ignore (or are unaware of) various incompatibilities - especially ones that are seemingly small and insignificant but are where the rubber meets the road in a relationship. Others fail because over time people change and grow in different directions and start to want different things, even though they may have initially wanted similar things.

This feels accurate.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/24 12:19 AM

It's a ridiculous question first and foremost because it would require me to set foot in the woods, and that simply isn't going to happen.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/24 03:18 AM

Most men would rather be the higher earner in a heterosexual relationship I'm not going to argue with this, though I don't agree. But when you said "higher earner" that implied that you were comparing the two identical options presented to the woman. Two identical men, one of whom makes bank - irrespective of how much the woman earns. Thus my question inverting the sexes - if a man has two identical options, one of whom makes bank (but not more than the man does because of his fragile male ego) …
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/24 10:53 PM

If a woman had two options of guys, all things being equal, personality, looks etc, except for income, most women would pick the higher earner all things being equal. Well, duh. Are you making the argument that men in this same hypothetical situation *with all things being equal* wouldn't choose the rich/high income option over a poor/low income woman? This is real life and not a video game, so you can't customize a person or choose who you fall in love with, but if you could, who wouldn't choos…

In other aspects of life, I'd agree. But you're dating for compatibility. If someone doesn't have the courage of their convictions, that's a bad look. Appearing noncommittal seems like someone is either trying to hide the truth - implying there's something that deserves to be hidden - or they don't want to disclose first because they might blow their chances. In any case, evasiveness is almost always a warning sign.

In general - someone being evasive about a topic like religion or politics. They don't want to be honest and risk rocking the boat. They would rather date someone they're not compatible with but could get sex from. I was dating a man (30 years old) who didn't seem religious, but I asked about religion on maybe the 3rd or 4th date. He got so shifty and said, "Uhhhh, I mean, that kind of thing doesn't matter til it matters." Like, what?? For me personally (may or may not apply to others) - "My fam…

Just look in any man's shower versus any woman's shower. Compare any man's morning routine to any woman's. Men use a 6-in-1 combo thing and some anti-stink spray and call it a day. For women, every body part and every facet of every body part (e.g., skin texture/tone/smoothness; hair color/shine/volume) has its own specialized treatment. From feet to fingernails. It's not "self-care;" it's maintenance. (I don't know or care who Pearl Davis is.)

Women already have the advantage because they can easily alter their appearance to make themselves more attractive. Hair styling, orthodontia, skincare routine, eyebrow tweezing/waxing, and dressing better are all things that men can do to improve their appearance that don't involve the gym or fixating on their height. There is also only 1 kind of personality type that is desirable in men, and that is the extreme charisma, assertiveness, and dominance of a Chad. That is just not true at all.

It would be a drop in the bucket compared to the weekly excersizing, working, and hobbies he'd have to do in order to gain attraction from women. This (and the OP) read like you don't know many women. You don't seem to have a grasp on how much time, money, and effort women expend on literally every part and facet of their face/body/hair. (Women also work, develop hobbies, engage in self-improvement.)

No, not really. Plus, if I want to finish, I need to be relaxed and comfortable being vulnerable with a guy, and in order for that to happen, I have to be in a relationship with him. So why would I just let my body be used by random dudes for literally no reason?

You cultivate your hobbies and interests to make your own life more fulfilling, to expand your social circle, and to become a slightly more interesting person. You don't do it for the sole purpose of meeting a SO. There is no guarantee that anything you ever do in life will result in your desired outcome. So one woman who shares your interest/hobby has a boyfriend who doesn't share the interest/hobby? What does this one instance prove? (Nothing.) Not everyone gets into a relationship with someon…

I've only been a member of this sub for a week or two, and I've seen a metric ton of men making comments/posts about how much they "get laid" by doing xyz - listing out their income, job, height/weight, gym frequency, etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:14 AM

Why did you use tinder?

Indirectly it might. Therapy is more likely to help challenge someone's unhelpful ways of thinking, assumptions, and behaviors that hold them back. It also can help people get beyond the hurt and other negative emotions (distrust, jealousy, fear, etc.) leftover from previous relationships (or even childhood) that carry over into the present.

Tons of research shows women only see a small number if men as attractive and only swipe them. While men have a lot more flexibility as far as attractiveness preferences. Because men are much more likely to be looking just for sex/a "date" (so they aren't going to be picky) whereas women are much more likely to be looking for a relationship.

After only one year of marriage, no alimony would be awarded. Marital property that would be subject to division would be fairly limited, even in places with community property laws because of such a short duration. If the couple had a child, child support would apply regardless of marriage.

I'm confused. What lying are you referring to? I'm advocating lying in order to "end the situation" by giving any standard excuse (if the man is indeed afraid of backlash from honesty). "Closure" isn't needed when there has only been one date, if that.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/24 08:05 PM

Why don't people just say that then?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/24 07:54 PM

Uhhh, so what is the n-word here? I didn't see it listed in the subreddit jargon list, and I have questions.

I mean, if these men care about what a woman they're rejecting says to them in response, they could just issue a standard "I don't think this is going to work out/I'm not feeling it/I don't think we're a good match/I've decided I need to take a break from dating to focus on my career" excuse. That seems a lot easier than forcing themselves to keep going on dates with someone they don't want to be with.

They probably just don't want to be involved with someone who has kids. I have no idea why they wouldn't just be honest with themselves and the other person, recognize that's a huge and valid dealbreaker, and not get involved with that person to begin with.

OMG, this is *chef's kiss.* I haven't been on this sub for very long, but this feels very accurate. I'm going to borrow some of your words for the next "congratulations on your wedding" card I have to send to include "congratulations on finding a man willing to marry your pathetic husk of a person."

"I'm a middle-aged man, and women won't let me be a mopey sponge or pay for my therapy!" I can't believe there isn't a line of women interested in signing up for that deal.

Sex negative fourth wave feminism has, Also missing throughout that entire discussion was any career woman willing to pay for their partner's therapy in lieu of direct emotional labor. Sounds like it's finally got it right then. Why should women "date down" emotionally? Expecting women to subsidize men getting themselves right in the head in lieu of direct emotional labor is just a different way of making "unfinished" men the problem of women. Women aren't rehabilitation facilities for broken or…

I met my current BF in a grocery store. I met my previous BF through a mutual acquaintance/friend at a happy hour. (Both times, I was single but not actively looking, and I was not on dating apps.) If you live your life thinking "That won't work/I can't/Nothing will come of it except rejection," you're living with blinders on. You won't be able to seize the opportunities when they're there. Go out and meet like-minded people doing things you enjoy - even if those people are dudes or not your age…

the idea that all there is to life is work, Netflix, two vacations per year seems pretty grim to me. It all seems to get boring after a while. This "idea" is yours. People who are childfree* lead all different kinds of lives. (Even people who are parents don't all lead exactly the same life with the same experiences.) The fact that a life without children seems "boring" to you is more reflective of your own limited view on what life's options are - either someone gets up, goes to work, watches N…

-speaking in a soft voice and making timid faces and smiles -handicapping himself by holding objects that cannot be used to harm another person and occupying his arms -handling objects with extra delicateness and care to seem calm and peace loving -wearing printed shirts or childish imagery to seem more harmless -refusing sunglasses in places where they are permitted No one asked for any of this. I'm imagining someone attempting all these things at once, and it would be hilarious.

What even is this post. Why do you assume those couples were forced to marry each other? Who was forcing anyone to marry 30 or 40 years ago? Did your aunts and uncles not marry for love?

Tbh, that sounds more like winding up with a booby prize. Also disgusting. But good luck tricking some young woman into being your "sperm-vessel wife" and being your bangmaid/brood mare.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/24 08:27 PM

Most women aren't terribly interested in being with slobs who are essentially overgrown helpless children; they want a partner. Being a healthy, responsible, fully functioning adult does have many facets, or "caveats" as you call them. A lot of them are unsaid because people shouldn't need to be told to do them.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/24 03:52 AM

I don't think "wanting a guy who takes care of himself" is about money at all. To me, it means a man who is a fully functioning adult. He doesn't need a mommy-girlfriend to do his laundry or buy a gift for his sibling or to remind him to brush his teeth, file his taxes, or that tomorrow is trash day. He goes to the doctor when he needs to. He cleans his home even when he isn't expecting guests. It means grooming, shaving, skincare. It means eating well and exercising. It means caring what he loo…
