Broadening ones shoulders, standing tallhead up, hard eye contact. Those are intimidation tactics. Spreading your legs due to a life time of wearing tight pants that have no breathing room for your sweaty balls out of habit, likely not an intimidation tactic. But if it was only about personal space then it wouldnt be a gender based issue. There would be more complaints about people lounging in more than one seat or putting their baggage in seats not seated. Maybe for you it’s just about your personal bubble but for some I think it goes deeper than just being about one’s personal space. It wouldn’t be highlighted so harshly vs one gender to the other if it was simply about space

I’ve realized that women who don’t like men man spreading is because they tend to look at the groin with their own will and they don’t like that. The problem here is women are fighting the urge to stare between a mans legs and they are trying to find something to blame other than primal instinct so they use male primal instinct as a scape goat against their own instinct. Saying things like “that’s a male establishing dominance for his territory” and other nonsense. They just hate not having control of their eyes just like dudes have so much trouble with their eyes and blame women for their exposed skin.
