Did some searching recently on a job board to connect aspiring apprentices with adjuncts and journeymen and most listings want 4+ years of trade school and preferred past experience. Y'all tradesmen are just as bullshit as the white collar sector when it isn't backbreaking labor at 8 dollars an hour. Make it make sense

Personally I'm alright, due in part to leaving said abusive family and finding a more welcoming found family. As far as my extended family male cousins who grew up in my same generation goes; one of them is an active gang member, another estranged themselves and dropped off the face of the planet just like I did, another transitioned and couldn't be happier, the last one is serving 18 years of domestic assault. Needless to say I'm glad to put that mess of a family behind me.

While I am a longtime sub to the reddit, there is some pushback I'd like to address to /u/Stardread1997 There is also an economical part to the decline of tradesmen as a whole, especially young blood entering the trades. The entry pay is awful compared to entry pay in less labor intensive fields. All of the good paying trades are top ended, contractual, or based on tenure.
