I just read a book called the 5 languages of love, it states individuals in a couple often have different 'main' love languages. The five love languages are words of affirmation quality time receiving gifts acts of service physical touch Perhaps you both simply have different 'love languages'. You need to recognize that his way of loving you isn't necessarily going to mirror your own... but he can learn to speak your language, and you, his... If his main love language is quality time, just being…

I'm in the same boat, I have tons of projects! I’ve often felt I was losing track of the things I wanted to do, which prevented me from advancing significantly in them. I’ve really come to see that organization is key, and as @practicewhatyoulearn said, just do it and cut out all non-productive elements of your life. Routine also helps, keeping specific blocks of time for specific things you want to achieve. Morning routines are the best, they make you feel like you’ve already achieved many thin…

ohhh I write as well! :D Your goal reminds me of my own writing goals... I completed the draft of a novel for nanowrimo that needs a ton of work, and I got a flash of inspiration last week for a new project... consistency is one of the things I'm focusing on right now, I should apply it to my writing projects as well :)

I recommend the book The Surrendered Wife by Laura Doyle, many have talked about it here... it gives amazing pointers, and puts great things in perspective regarding money and trust! I'm in the middle of it at the moment... loving it!

What?? No, not at all, I'm not sure what you interpreted to come to that conclusion. I'm saying she needs to deal with her trust issues to get over them, if not, she will be confronted to her trust issues in other situations (with this guy, or another). I'm also mentioning her partner might be clumsily trying to avoid her being insecure, but actually causing more harm than good. Whatever the situation, trust issues cause tensions that can easily fester.

what if he's particularly aware his girlfriend has trust issues and (she) fears being cheated on? He's 19, he could be naively trying to protect her from needless overthinking... not realizing that he's feeding the very thing he's trying to avoid

Trust is incredibly important. If you have trust issues, talk about them, highlight them and make sure you are on the same page. You can open the subject simply by saying that it is something that is on your mind, without mentioning what actually got you there. You can just say your female intuition brought you there. If this relationship is to evolve, you need to be on the same page. also... having unresolved issues brings out a pattern in one's life. If you don't deal with it now, it will come…

I met my SO while travelling. Getting into a LDR was a no-brainer for me, he was that fantastic. I was also extremely lucky, he had occasional business trips to my city. I never had any anxiety or insecurity about it being a LDR, we were both very resolute about it. A solid foundation of intention is key. Having common goals clearly established is crucial to keep your eyes on the horizon. Regarding communication, I find it varies in different contexts. I understand the concept of quality over qu…

Very well put regarding expending and regaining energy. I’ll have to find ways to tend to my energy levels on my own in order to stay balanced… I’ve been too isolated these past months, I see now this is an important factor that’s been affecting my mindset. Thank you for the links, they reminded me that my partner’s intellect is one of my favourite traits in him and I should go the extra mile to cater to that part of him adequately!

thank you! You are very right about keeping in mind that I am bettering myself for myself, and that this is not purely contained by my relationship and my partner! I have to work on this duality thinking I have (this vs that) and see my personality more holistically, I suppose…

others judge because you're going off the beaten path. some will never understand, and others, with time, will put the pieces together and end up understanding completely what you're going for. as code5fun mentioned, the perception of the traditional family sphere is being destroyed by a number of factors, including liberalism, feminism, and the likes. Your post made me think of an article, why I can't stop reading mormon housewife blogs - women are going for degrees and careers, but are curious…

you could change your diet and eliminate the need for cardio. you can adopt a low-carb diet focusing on nutrient rich food and stick to short (20 min or so) muscle toning workouts. You just need a good playlist of songs to get you through that short lapse of time... however, if you want/need to keep longer cardio workouts, then perhaps audiobooks or podcasts could do the trick. You can also view your cardio session as a meditation (focus on breath, clearing the mind, and bringing your attention …
