2	CDC accepting comments on circumcision recommendation. Now is the time to tell the CDC that genital mutilation of boys is unacceptable. at what point do you think medical treatment crosses the line then? are the vaccines necessary? We treat quite a few things pro-actively and the argument is do we as parents have the right to chose medical treatment needed or not for our children? My doctors were anti circ usually. I stated that the medical reasons did happen and 9 out of 10 times we as the urology clinic did them for medical reasons or personal preference of the patient. We did also do them on teenager Filipinos for cultural reasons. We almost never did them on kids, that was done mostly by peds. I worked as an Urology tech, in my experience circumcision was useful to deal with several urological issues, but was not necessary for everyone. Me personally, doing circs for kids made sense to me but thats because I've cleaned 70+ year olds and its nasty.
