you paraphrased him well, but when have you ever seen a woman worried about the species? I see a lot of worrying about the family and the social circle, but I've not noticed women taking the lead on much on a species wide scale (Fighting global warming, malaria, planning for asteroids, etc.)

I really like what little I've read of Schopenphauer, but I can't relate to this at all. Look into how prevalent and quasi accepted brothels were in the early 1900's. Not quite legal, but pretty safe from interference. Women's associations and religious associations that were heavily influenced by women put pressure on the police to start enforcing the law. BUT, the other theory as to why they aren't nearly as popular anymore is that the increased promiscuity of women when the pill and automobile came around made it possible to get laid without going to the whorehouse.

The authors conclude that ".....that they are "impulsive and desperate gestures of women simply attempting to alleviate understandable conditions of personal and social distress" caused by "the complications and conflicts of heterosexual involvements". Notice how even the study is trying to make it sound not that bad? Do studies on shoplifting talk about how its a understandable and impulsive act to attempt to alleviate the stress of living in a capitalist system?

I work with sexually exploited kids and that's not quite true, some of the feelings of guilt, betrayal, and mistrust only happen after they realize what the abuse was, but even before they realize what happened they experience boundary issues and the kind of problems that you can imagine fro having an adult bribing them and encouraging lying and secret keeping.

Actually, since rich people tend to work the system so they don't pay much in taxes, I think this would skew for the middle class. It could actually also lead to an interesting situation similar to the Romans and Greeks where the rich kind of volunteer to pay in more to retain power.

I personally think voting should be done on a taxpayer basis. If I pay 5,000 a year in taxes I get 5,000 votes. This system would make the kind of useless women that you are thinking of much less powerful while acknowledging that there are hardworking women and useless men around too.

When I am working or driving to or from work I have time to get a number and can call and interact at my leisure. I don't have time to park, get out and stroll around. As for rapport, they see the music I like, my style and my sense of humor, that seems like enough for the first encounter.

So what I am hearing that what I'm doing is annoying, but not dehumanizing or threatening. If you are that easily annoyed, I don't care about annoying you. I realize that on foot is the best approach, but I spend hours a day driving in town and I don't care to waste it.
