I hate how all you crybabies in this sub just make shit up to be mad about. /u/quasimodoca is correct. Goodbye, /r/pussypass ... You have a lot of potential, but the reality is that you turn into /r/crylikeabitchaboutnothing far too often.

Seems that as the popularity of the sub increases, the quality of posts is decreasing. Word, zendopeace. I've felt this sentence pass across my thoughts more than once, in many subs. /r/subreddithipsters

If there were a video as in this case and they both had lawyers, the sexual charges would be dropped, if ever even filed. It's clear in the video that there's no sexual assault, and if we're talking apples to apples, it would be the same way for a hypothetical male defendant. You're probably right about the sentences otherwise, if you're not talking about fist time offenders with no previous charges of any kind. But, that's what we are talking about.

I disagree. If there was no video, then what you say is more likely, but what the video shows, while unacceptable, is clearly not sexual assault, nor a relatively severe battery. If a man were captured on video doing exactly that, and was a first time offender, his lawyer could probably get him a similar sentence to what she got. Also, if the victim were severely injured, whether the assailant were male or female, the punishment would be much worse. Given that it would be more likely that a male…

First offense? Black man, white girl? Probably some jail with pretty quick parole. White on white? Most likely, deferred adjudication probation just like this. Men get DAP for first offense domestic violence against women quite often. Usually, those domestic cases involve more bodily injury than this one does. If it was a man attacking a woman, and the prosecutor decided to throw some kind of sexual charge in there, it could be a lot worse, but that's going to vary wildly by prosecutor; If it wa…

What would you have had them give her for a first offense assault, prison time? Here's what I wrote about this last time we got into a tizzy about this: First time offenders are often offered the ability to have their charges dropped after successfully serving probation. It's called "differed adjudication probation." This is a good thing; It's pretty fucking terrible to have to spend the rest of your life with a felony on your record because you did one stupid criminal thing. My *clears throat* …

I hope that you are never unfortunate enough to learn about all of this crap for yourself. It is one of the worst experiences imaginable.

Do you really think that if that was a guy assaulting a woman he would get off so easily? Men receiving deferred adjudication probation as their sentence for a first offense assault, even a domestic violence assault with injury to the victim far worse that what happened here, is not uncommon. So, yes. To be clear, it's not exactly "getting off easily." You have to serve probation, complete with drug tests, random "visits" from your PO, and all the other hassles that come with it, before your cha…

This is a good thing; It's pretty fucking terrible to have to spend the rest of your life with a felony on your record because you did one stupid criminal thing. My *clears throat* friend got tagged once with a third of a pound of weed, all for personal consumption, which was just over the line for a felony charge in that state. Tha…

Okay, but that doesn't mean it's a "pussy pass" ... Men get away with crimes thanks to the efforts if their lawyers as well.

There's not enough actual inequity or something? The title is straight-up inaccurate, and the whole "outrage" is supposed to be based on something that isn't true. This is a shitpost.

Well, I hope things work out for your friend. If he ever decides to fight fire with fire, a failed drug test, if one can be socially engineered to be required of mom, goes a long way to removing parental rights.

This part of your story doesn't make any sense at all. When buying the land the girl put her name on the title without his permission. Making it half hers. Either she was the principal on the transaction and he supplied the money, or he was, and he put her on the title. You can't just "put your name" on a title to property you don't own without the owner's permission. He has to stand up and explain why he should get to see his son more than every other weekend, why he isn;t the bad guy in this s…

There's nothing wrong with trying to get out of a ticket. The fault here lies with the cops.

This reflects more on the intelligence level of the cops than it does malice on the parts of these women.
