This is a nice approach, interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Wow you guys. So a guy dates around and no big deal, but if a girl dates around forget it? The question is, do you want to date around too? If you do, there's no problem, and tell her so. She's got some competition then. If not, then you need to find someone who is equally as into you and would be willing to date just you once you get to know each other (and figure out how you bombed on that first date so you don't do it again).

This is a good post, nice work. A lot I could relate to in thinking about my own relationships and what I want to do for myself, just for myself because it makes me feel good and it's who I want to be/become.

I agree that at least a half hour of exercise a day is a great natural way to boost your mood. Have you ever read the 4 Hour Workweek? He's got some great stuff in there about dreamlines, timelines on a short 6 month to 1 year time frame. What would you do if you had unlimited money and time? Put some serious thought into it. If you start to pursue some of those goals with small steps, I suspect you will not feel as lethargic and unbalanced in your life. There is so much you could be doing with …

Friending someone on Facebook isn't clear that you want to date her/sleep with her; asking for her number is. I agree with all the posters saying escalate. If she has that much game herself, she's looking for someone confident that will throw it back at her.

This whole thread is great, and good points made. Some stuff I could use myself, esp. as regards to texting.

I like to talk about sex with guys; it's fun. Sometimes I'm genuinely just trying to get information. I'm not always interested in having sex with the guy. I would never talk about it with a guy I found creepy or disgusting though. I have to feel comfortable; that I can trust them to that degree. And certainly it can be part of a flirtatious conversation and lead to more. So you're at least in neutral or sexy territory if a girl is willing to talk to you about this. Flirt back/talk about sexy st…

I've never heard this before, that a woman not sleeping with someone on a first date means they're not going to. I'm more of a 2nd-6th date person, I mean, you don't know that guy from Adam, only met him that night with beer googles on, who knows if he's going to steal your credit cards or what? I just feel a little more time is needed to establish trust.

It's possible pouring yourself out that way did turn her off. It is rather odd though, because I find I identify and get closest to those who are comfortable with themselves, and often they've been through a lot of shit to get to where they are. So I suppose, like anything, it depends on the person you're with. I agree with you on the 'busy' thing; the guy I was dating was becoming more and more busy with other things. You shouldn't have to beg for dates; your time is more valuable than that.

I'm very curious about what you're posting here. The guy I was dating seems very similar to you. What kind of bullshit were we talking here with this girl? For myself, I know I'm attractive, and I do have an abundance mentality. I know I can find guys to date. Finding someone that really clicks with me, in a number of ways, long term, is tough. Why do you think it's tough to be an alpha and still meet someone's emotional needs? This last guy was really alpha and I loved it, but in the end, he wa…

Sounds like you're on a good track. Oh, DC and the 'what do you do for work' interview question. People are asking you that cause they don't know what else to ask you; they're trying to figure out who you are. I think a good response would be, "We could talk about work, but honestly I'm much more excited about this scuba diving trip I'm taking to Thailand over the summer. What's you're passion? Are you doing anything interesting right now?" This is a much more open-ended question. Sometimes I'll…

I'm going through a relationship rough patch (or breakup, I'm not sure) right now, and this was really helpful. Thanks!

I think the fact that these women likely walk A LOT, more than most of the U.S. population on a daily basis, needs to be considered. So I don't necessarily think the numbers are inflated. I would be curious to hear how he defined 'being hit on'--my husband asked me this out of the blue this morning, and I realized I wasn't really sure--I thought of being hit on as a more heavy-handed approach; guys at bars, catcalling, street approaches, etc. The guys that I really like are often more subtle abo…

What I'm trying to get at is, if she's sexually satisfied (i.e. from oral or fingering or whatever), she'll care less how long you last and generally be happier. If you're not sure what will do it for her, ask her, or ask her to show you what she does for herself. Asking her what most turns her on or if she has any fantasies never hurts either. And yeah, I mean, you're 17 and you've got a girl who wants to sleep with you. Win!

As a girl, one thing I can say creeps me out online (OkCupid) is if a guy says something about me I haven't told him. Meaning, he looked me up online AND is trying to use that shit to his benefit to make himself seem 'intuitive' and that he knows about me. Weeeird.

I think pretending to take a shot is great. There are actually some studies on physical actions and confidence. Putting your arms in the air is a power pose. Even if you did this without the shot imagery, it would help. Check this Ted Talk out:http://www.ted.com/talks/amy_cuddy_your_body_language_shapes_who_you_are.html The whole video is fascinating, but the relevant part is around 12:40.

Huh, interesting idea about working on your approach anxiety by forcing yourself to be rejected, so you don't dread it so much. I can see that working. Fucking scary the first few times though I imagine!

Blunt is so boring, plus it puts a lot of guys off. I like to be seduced too; like for the guy to be dominant and have to work at it a little. The points here about eye contact are good though; I'll have to work on that more. I've been in a long-term relationship for so long that I've trained myself to not look at/make eye contact with guys in clubs or bars at all cause it could be misconstrued. Saw a guy at a bar on Sunday that was really cute; I was too shy though to approach him. Next time.

Haha I like the part about the pants. I did that to a boy at the pool that I liked; kept trying to pull down his swim trunks. I was five. My Mom had to pull me aside and tell me that was not an appropriate way to show a boy I liked him. Guess she was wrong!

I think compliments go a long way. Who doesn't love hearing they're beautiful, or have a lovely smile? It certainly will work to get the woman's attention, if only for a moment. I never tire of compliments. And, as I tell my boyfriend, flattery will get you everywhere. :)
