It is not hiring based on skin color alone. That’s incorrect

I’m not but if there has to be a draft I’d say should be for everyone not just men

Women don’t abort people, they abort a clump of cells that COULD become a person. Let me ask you why you can freeze embryos but not a person/baby. Because an embryo is not a fully formed person! If you believe life begins at conception that’s cool, but that’s your religion. Don’t have an abortion. But the rest of us want choice. By the way Miscarriage is also abortion.
/r/MensRights13/01/23 08:28 AM

I have no idea. I’m against the draft. I’d never say “if women don’t get their rights then men shouldn’t either” which is insane. I’m pro choice and anti draft. Doesn’t have to be quid pro quo
/r/MensRights13/01/23 08:26 AM

You would compare something that isn’t currently effecting you, that hasn’t been done since the mid 1970s, to denying medical treatment to thousands of women every single day? Not a fair comparison. Also being drafted doesn’t mean you’ll necessarily go to war on front lines whereas denying abortion can be a death sentence
/r/MensRights13/01/23 08:25 AM

Do you have any clue how risky pregnancy is? It’s also nearly a year of your life where you have a physical limitation. That’s a long time I’d you’ve got a physically demanding job

I don’t know what your point is
/r/MensRights13/01/23 08:23 AM

Wrong. If you had zero women in roles like forestry and then you got two women that’s a massive percentage increase comparatively speaking

You got the breakdown by industries? Please do share
/r/MensRights09/01/23 01:08 PM

Ok so what the answer then? Would you be ok to all blind interviews? Bc it would lead to more women/other underrepresented groups taking roles away from mediocre white men

Is that the only place?

Does not mean every industry had double uptake EQUALLY. Someone missed stats class
/r/MensRights09/01/23 10:41 AM
-1

You’ve not taken stat classes I see. If you take a general number of gender participation in work that doesn’t mean it’s 100% uptake for ALL industries equally. More women may have gone into medical fields or something else. But hey good try there buddy.

In what country
/r/MensRights09/01/23 07:49 AM

There is a good reason, bias. See blind auditions for orchestras https://gap.hks.harvard.edu/orchestrating-impartiality-impact-“blind”-auditions-female-musicians
/r/MensRights09/01/23 07:46 AM
-12

Ha so just to debunk that theory but blind auditions (not knowing it was a woman) was the way to reduce bias. So your thought of hiring the best person wasn’t working when men made decisions https://gap.hks.harvard.edu/orchestrating-impartiality-impact-“blind”-auditions-female-musicians
/r/MensRights09/01/23 07:45 AM

Yeah great theory except years ago I had a recruiter friend call me up in tears bc I client told her not o send blacks bc they wouldn’t hire them. This was nearly 2000. So not that long ago!

Pay gap isn’t disproven- I’ve been an adult woman for decades and believe me I’ve been fucked over for money more times than I can count. Had one male boss tell me I’m not making as much because (and I quote) “am not a breadwinner so what do I need the money for any way”.
/r/MensRights09/01/23 07:40 AM

By the way this whole draft thing is moot - draft hasn’t been activated in DECADES (like nearly 50 years) but women die daily from abortion restrictions
/r/MensRights09/01/23 07:38 AM
1

So forcing women to have babies (which can be a life threatening risk) is ok but forcing a man to pay for it is slavery ….. you do realise that writing a check isn’t the same as dying from sepsis bc you can’t get an abortion right ?
/r/MensRights09/01/23 07:38 AM
1

I won’t disagree white women feminism is fucked. Real feminism is intersectional and includes equality all genders (yes including men!)
/r/MensRights09/01/23 07:36 AM
1

No idea what you mean by that but if your whole concept is “bodily autonomy” and not forcing people to do stuff then I would say no draft bc I’m also pro choice
/r/MensRights09/01/23 07:35 AM

So that’s not a law then. Sentencing isn’t a law
/r/MensRights09/01/23 07:35 AM

I am ASTOUNDED as a woman to read the MEN on this MENS RIGHTS group shaming the op for having bad taste. That’s victim shaming - if you are so keen on men’s rights you need to advocate for yourselves and support a man who has been abused in a healthy way. How do you expect women to take male abuse seriously if you don’t do it yourselves?

You don’t think a group of people organising chaotic violence against innocent people due to indoctrination is terrorism? Maybe if it was more men of color doing it you’d feel differently.
/r/MensRights08/01/23 10:46 AM

I just think those whole concept of “when war comes things will reset men back to power” is insane. Like you are debasing men by claiming that physical force is the sole thing that allows you to dominate. It’s sad and trite. Why are you so threatened by each gender bringing what they do best to the table and having equality? Just because more men can bench press more than more women doesn’t mean you should run EVERYTHING and be the default authority. We aren’t cave people hunting our own food th…

Thank you. First of all- her saying that is FUCKED. I vehemently disagree with it here and if any woman ever said that to me I’d say the same. I’m not justifying it in any way, but the video does look quite old - people in the 1990s said so many fucked things. Like the Clinton’s and their racist “super predator” comments. Full throated agree from me that domestic violence against men needs to be taken every bit as seriously as abuse gassing women. I won’t and I cannot justify every single action…

The man hating thing “was from the start” - even if you think that’s true (which it isn’t) why do you think that would be the case? Women just come out of the gate hating men for no good reason?

Feminists today are still fighting for reproductive rights. And you honestly do not sound like you have a true grasp of feminism. It’s SO easy to laude women of the 60s and 70s but at the time they were vilified. Just like you are vilifying the feminists of today. People laude MLK Jr now but plenty hated him when he was alive and speaking truths people didn’t want to hear bc it made them uncomfortable. That’s where you are right now. And though I greatly appreciate all that older feminists did, …

It’s not nature alone - it’s a mix of cultural (nurture) as well. Feeling disgusted about body count is not natural AT ALL - there are many societies and periods of time where that shame didn’t exist. Read up on anthropology before making any sweeping (wrong) generalisations please. Modern feminism got women the vote, and access to birth control and ability to obtain credit card and mortgages. Feminism helped makes marital rape illegal. So do not tell me feminism is bad bc it isn’t.

How am I a hypocrite? If women don’t want to be treated like shit bc the guy has money (and the woman is being a gold digger) they should focus more on things BESIDES money like personality and brains. That would be the opposite of the men’s issue regarding looks.
/r/MensRights06/01/23 07:34 AM
1

Not a contradiction bc body count is a “moral” issue. The virgin issue is different, it’s not a moral issue it’s an experience one. I don’t want to be someone’s first bc many people have a huge emotional attachment to their first and I don’t want to have that. What I am trying to say is - if someone had 3 partners or 300 I wouldn’t care bc that’s a personal choice. The virgin thing is one of logistics too - virgins don’t know what they are doing and I’m not down for zero experience.

Being sexually objectified is something MEN do TO women. Being catcalled happens to women regardless of what they are wearing. Hell I was catcalled while 8 months pregnant and in maternity clothes. Wake the fuck up man.

That makes zero sense
/r/MensRights05/01/23 10:37 PM

I don’t think high or low body count is good or bad for men or women. I don’t want to be with a virgin simply because they won’t have experience and they also might tie too much to having sex. But beyond that, number of partners doesn’t matter. people should sleep with whomever they want as long as they are careful about protection and it’s consensual. I think it’s appalling to judge anyone for how many or little people they’ve slept with. Who cares? Men don’t care about income for two reasons- …

Been a teenager or young 20s isn’t always about choosing - you cannot choose more experience at that age because you need time for that. And you are insane to think women always have the option of sex and committed relationship always. Men can throw a rock and find a woman who wants to commit. Believe.

Well my data is my dad beat the shit out of my mom, as did my grandfather to my grandmother and uncle to aunt etc. financial abuse, verbal abuse, physical abuse… I’ve seen the lot. Women need options bc you might have seen some cheating but I’ve been punched dead in the face by a grown man when I was a kid. Soooo there’s that!

By the way I’m not bashing women staying at home. If that’s the agreed upon situation but there must be plans for “what if man gets sick or dies” etc. I have kids and it is HARD to have us both work. But economically since I’m not a gold digger I have to work as we are co breadwinners. It works bc he does his part with kids and housework. Men who work who have wives at home also need to understand you’re taking on a lifetime commitment to financially support your wife if she does stay at home OR…

I cannot stand when people say women have “power” in their teens and early 20s. Perhaps for pedophiles, sure. But otherwise women don’t really have “power” then because they don’t have agency. They don’t have money, they do not have life experience, they don’t have professional success. What you perceive as “power” is the ability to choose who they want to fuck in a wider group of men because more men want to have sex with teen and younger women. To me, power is ability to have more choice in al…

As an aside I had a guy I dated who was about to become my fiancé. Literally we went ring shopping and all. Then I said I wanted to make more money by going to law school and he was like no, you must stay at home. Then he said I was a gold digger. Like what? How does that even work? I wanted to work, I wanted to earn. I wanted a fair partnership. He wanted a bang maid. We went separate ways now he’s married to bangmaid and cheats on her bc … he has all the money and she’s just kinda … doing what…

Women have ego but you’re literally a man saying “don’t marry successful women bc they will leave you”. Do you see how that would impact how women want to “marry up”? I’ll let you know something - many women would love to just be in a good relationship. many women have great jobs, would love to be with a man who did much more at home. I also do not think it’s realistic for ONE parent to stay home. Why? A few reasons: short term most jobs don’t make enough to support a family these days. Second, …

As a final point so you think men with careers are “too busy” for anything serious or can men maintain a career and a romantic relationship?
/r/MensRights05/01/23 02:44 PM
1

Educated successful women may not stay in marriages longer because they have the ability to leave abusive partners. Women without agency don’t have those same options. So are you advocating “only marry women you can trap/control”? Bc that’s what it sounds like. It also reinforces negative gender stereotypes about men AND women. Don’t want to be a “walking wallet”? Marry a woman who has her own money so you don’t have to pay. Maybe you take on more domestic duties and let her be the breadwinner. …

/r/MensRights05/01/23 02:37 PM

Simple way to not be a “walking wallet” is to value other things and not base your level of control on how much money you spend. Example- maybe if you don’t want a gold digger don’t go for women based on their looks, or how subservient they are to you. perhaps focus on other attributes like intelligence, humour, kindness, etc.

Wanting to talk about being abused or having feelings about stuff is great. But the majority of this feed is very anti women. You claim the “feminist community” sees you as whiny men but … are you actually talking to feminists IRL? Again I’ve participated in many feminist groups and know many feminist women. Never ONCE did they say men must be strong silent all the time. It’s bizarre. Again there are cultural forces at work demanding men not express emotion. But that’s not coming from feminists …

So here’s the thing: I’m a feminist and I’ve been involved in feminism groups for decades. there’s not been on instance where any woman said “men should be strong silent types”. We TOTALLY AGREE men should be able to show emotion and cry and so forth. feminism is not about dominance. It’s about letting everyone do and be who they want (without harming others). It’s more militant than any women’s group I’ve seen. I’m a woman but genuinely baffled as to what men’s thought process is for their notion of being oppressed. There are things I 100% agree on like circumcising. It’s awful and should be banned. But I’m shocked at some of the stances I see here.

So much to unpack here. First of all no one is saying that being a mother is “more important than anything a man could ever do”. Having sex, however, is NOT the only component of creating a full human. In order to continue the human race, women have to undergo pregnancy and childbirth which is incredibly risky. Your point about incels claiming things is totally different. That claim generally is in the camp of “the only thing women are good for is having sex with”. Overall it comes down to this …

I am actually amazed you’d claim men and women have equal work in creating a baby. Men literally just ejaculate and women have nearly a full year of stress on their bodies. Some women during childbirth tear from front to back creating one giant vasshole that requires STITCHES IN THEIR GENITALS to repair. Many women I know have had to have pelvic floor reconstruction. Uterine rupture, excessive bleeding (I personally haemorrhaged on the surgery table), infections, sepsis.
/r/MensRights01/09/22 07:49 AM

You think creating a human is only about sex? Manby bc you get the fun part. Do you know how physically risky and damaging childbirth is to a body? How many women die in labor?

EMT is paid to provide healthcare not climb down hills. So there’s that. Your point actually proves my point - EMT (and bouncers) are paid to do a specified job. And the OP does NOT make it clear that other EMT climbed down. If it was firefighters that’s BS.
/r/MensRights01/09/22 07:39 AM

The guy wanted to hit me bc I had confronted him for beating up his (much smaller) girlfriend. He did not hit me bc I was closer in size to him and also I’d been punched in the face by men before (my own dad, when I was a kid!) so I was full of adrenaline and not backing down. Eventually one of his friends cajoled him to back down.

I wouldn’t say “never”. But it is 100% something I agree with, it’s wrong to do it, baby doesn’t have a choice. It is hypocritical for women to be against FGM but not circumcising. Feminists should support this movement. I am a feminist and I didn’t cut my son. I’m totally against it. So there are women out there like that. Plus European and UK usually don’t either. Films, news, literature, science, city planning, economics, the stories we tell ourselves about our past, present and future, are all marked – disfigured – by a female-shaped “absent presence”. This is the gender data gap. These silences, these gaps, have consequences. They impact on women’s lives, every day. The impact can be relatively minor – struggling to reach a top shelf set at a male height norm, for example. Irritating, certainly. But not life-threatening. Not like crashing in a car whos…

No honey WOMEN alone don’t vote for those laws and it is MEN who make them. If men are “left to fend for themselves” why do they still run everything? Why are their no laws for things likeForced vasectomies? Why is EVERYTHING SET to make standards (car safety, medical studies, everything in an office is built around men) then? /r/MensRights06/07/22 05:03 AM

Finally women want to serve their country. MEN decided they should not.
/r/MensRights06/07/22 05:02 AM

Omg WHEN did men not have the right to vote based on their gender? Also dead wrong about vasectomies. Men can just go get them.

Show me data to prove it’s the women doing this.

Everything is “deniable” without hard core data. Got any to prove your point? Because feelings aren’t facts.
/r/MensRights06/07/22 05:00 AM

They didnt get pregnant by themselves. Men can use condoms get vasectomies… why do you think male oral birth control doesn’t exist in the market? MEN.
/r/MensRights06/07/22 04:59 AM

Parents. You think women do this over the objections of their husbands??
/r/MensRights06/07/22 04:58 AM

How do they have more rights when a 10 year old girl just had to cross state lines to get an abortion. When women suffering ectopic pregnancies have to nearly die before they get an abortion. Can you even imagine MEN having medical care denied on the basis of religion?
/r/MensRights05/07/22 08:52 PM

Yes please tell me what laws women have that men don’t.
/r/MensRights05/07/22 08:51 PM

Worst off? Men do 1/3 the worlds work yet have 2/3 of the worlds assets. There are more CEOs named john than women CEOs. Disenfranchised? How exactly? Women had to fight for the right to vote, they had to fight to not get fired for being married or pregnant, women cannot even get sterilised unless husband approves, women couldn’t get credit cards or mortgages until the late 1970s. Women were denied entry to medical school and law school for decades, Weren’t allowed to RUN MARATHONS (and were ass…

Sorry how is abortion not your problem? If women have your babies you’re on the hook. If you don’t pay for the baby directly it will come out of your taxes … unwanted kids hurt EVERYONE in society. Hence you should care.

It’s terrible. American beauty standards should not involve such damage. It’s kind of like breast implants. Such societal pressure to meet a visual standard makes people suffer.
/r/MensRights05/07/22 07:24 PM

It turns my stomach. I’ve heard of newborns getting herpes this way. I think a lot of these practices don’t get stopped because of the strong voting bloc that would rail against anyone who tried to stop it. It’s a mafia for sure.

I agree that’s hypocritical. It is my body my choice (feminist!) and I refused to cut my son. Society should also not view cut as more hygienic. That said if you are against circumcising you should also be pro choice…
/r/MensRights05/07/22 09:58 AM

I’m a mother and I refused to have my son circumcised. WHY? It is mutilation. It’s appalling. Unless there’s a significant medical condition requiring it, there is no need and should be stopped as general practice. Also as an adult I prefer partners that are uncut.

Of 13,929 identified records, 15 were included in the qualitative synthesis. In 263,616 cancer patients and 3.4 million healthy individuals, we found that cancer is associated with a slightly decreased divorce rate, except for cervical cancer, which seems to be associated with an increased divorce rate. Oh also when women work and men take on the domestic sphere then divorce could be more equitable. But that means equality in opportunity in the workforce and equal pay. Don’t want to pay alimony? Cool. Fight for equal pay for women. So they won’t have the need to claw your $$$$ bc they have their own.
/r/MensRights01/06/22 08:48 PM

100% I agree the workforce set up as is is toxic for men. Too many hours- we should all demand flexible work, hybrid work, shared responsibilities. In hand with that though is paid maternity leave, subsidised daycare, paternity leave that men can actually take. When women take on more paid work men can do more domestic work so it reduces the stress of men to be breadwinners. If a hetero couple both being in money they can equally share domestic work. Men can better bond with their kids and wives…

Bad at money?? Why would you think that is? Maybe bc women were denied access to money for generations? Women are paid less, promoted at jobs less, charged more (put pink branding on deodorant then you charge more for it!). So you are using someone who is mentally ill as an example? One commonly cited figure holds that 5 percent of rape allegations are found to be false, but that figure paints a very incomplete picture, says Belknap. Typically, this figure comes from studies done on college students, an estimated 95 percent of whom do not report their assaults to police. Overall, an estimated 8 to 10 percent of women are thought to report their rapes to the police, which means that — at the very highest — we can in…

If you’re upset that women leave sick men (valid) that you’d be super sympathetic to the WOMEN who face much higher rates of men doing the same thing to them. The OP was claiming “women get away with things that men would be judged for” yet REAL FACTS show that men are actually doing that thing six times more so … clearly they aren’t being judged bc they aren’t deterred at all

Have women ever been accused of causing their own rapes by dressing provocatively? Yes. All the time. So one might have concern about having their phone activity ALSO used against them to discount their own rapes. Baffled why phone messages would prove a rape did or didn’t happen anyway

/r/MensRights31/05/22 10:22 PM

/r/MensRights31/05/22 08:29 PM
-8

Sorry - with SIX TIMES frequency you’d think maybe that would be a cause? Men are responsible for the vast majority of sexual violence in America. According to a 2010 National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey, 90 percent of perpetrators of sexual violence against women are men. Moreover, when men are victims of sexual assault (an estimated one in 71 men, and one in six boys), 93 percent reported their abuser was a man. It’s true that women also assault men, but even when victims of all genders are combined, men perpetrate 78 percent of reported assaults. ht…

Six times A woman is six times more likely to be separated or divorced soon after a diagnosis of cancer or multiple sclerosis than if a man in the relationship is the patient, according to a study that examined the role gender played in so-called "partner abandonment."
