Ok, but one of them is super straightforward on what qualifies, and the other excludes other rapists. These aren't really comparable in the way you are trying to compare them for nuance. A better example would be an often cited claim on domestic violence rates of lesbians. The claim is often cited without regard to if this was before the woman in question even knew she was gay (so in a straight relationship) or even bisexual women.

The first part of your comment doesn't really make sense. The reason it is an insult for men is that women have higher standards for men in short-term relationships physically, and men have lower ones for women. The inverse is also true (typically) in long-term relationships. I'm not seeing the contradiction?

How is telling someone you like them pushing your feelings onto somebody any more than asking someone out on a date?

To be fair, those complaints are typically for people who have already passed the bar for looks.

Would it be more accurate to say you are drawn to the less conventionally attractive but still conventionally attractive men? Rather than unconventional meaning ugly/odd looking.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
