They'll take it 80% of the time. They think you're just being nice. But what they don't realize is that you've just showed them who the fuck is boss. 1	University that I don't attend but live close too.. I go there to use the library for my classes at other college. FlashGordonn is right, that's such an easy way to open conversation. "Excuse me, where's the ____" I don't think you'd be creepy to anyone, especially if you're actually there to study, even if it isn't your school. I wouldn't be afraid to tell them why you're there.
